These were purchased for my husband who is unable to tie shoes well. They are fantastic and we are getting another pair. The velcro allows the shoe to be loosened if necessary. They are the exact same shoe he was wearing without the laces.

I bought these for my father's 90th birthday. He wears them every day and raves about the comfort. Recommend these highly, especially for people who have trouble with laces and need a stable walking shoe.

I have been buying these shoes for a few years for my husband. He has an unusual gait and these are the only shoes that really hold up to his abuse. The fit is great, the velcro makes it so much easier for him. They are a great shoe all around, highly recommended!

Excellent shoe. Bought for my handicapped husband, since I have to place his shoes on, these are an excellent product for me. He has always loved New Balance and that is why we chose this brand. Being diabetic, it is a good product.

Zappos provides "the best" customer service of any retail business that I know of. This shoe needed to be ordered a half size larger than I normally wear. I have had four pair of New Balance shoes in size 11-1/2 over the years, but needed to exchange these for a 12.

I have bought a couple pairs of New Balance MW811 shoes for my brother who is handicapped. He loves them; they are easy to get on, even though he wears a brace, and have such good support. With that extra support his therapy is much easier. Zappos has the best customer service I have ever seen. I have been singing the praises for this company to everyone I know. Thanks Zappos for service that is unbelievable.

These are very comfortable. They fit well. I am heavy (250 pounds) and so far they are holding up well after a six weeks. My foot doctor ordered another pair for me with special inserts that the insurance company will pay for.

I was involved in an auto accident that caused a injury to my central spinal cord. I'm very lucky to be alive, but there are many daily activities that have changed for me; one being I haven't been able to tie my shoe strings. I spent several days searching for walking shoes with a hook and loop strap allowing me some independence. I could not locate any when my neighbor suggested Zappos. I found the New Balance shoe with Zappos, ordered my size (I thought), but when they arrived I found the shoe to be too large. I called Zappos found their service excellent, sent the shoes back and they sent me overnight a size smaller that fit perfectly. I have been totally satisfied with the shoes. I am amazed I received better service from an online company compared to a local walk-in shoe store.

I really like these walking shoes. I\'ve been wearing them practically every day for more years than I can remember. I\'ve probably gone through around eight or more pair of these shoes. I think they\'re probably the most comfortable walking shoe I\'ve ever tried on. I used to wear them with an orthodic and there was plenty of room. Now I don\'t use the orthodic and I enjoy the shoes as much as previously.\r\n\r\nMy only beef with these shoes is that as they get more broken in I need to pull the velcro straps further to get a comfortable fit, but there\'s no hook far enough down on the shoe to secure the strap as it\'s pulled further down. The result is that the end of the strap tends to curl up a little. I\'ve been able to temporarily remedy this by extending the hook part with velcro tape bought in a hardware store. Until I find a more comfortable shoe this seems like a minor inconvenience.

Pure crisp fresh white new sneakers, looks like they were manufactured yesterday. Very comfortable and perfect for walking. Easy to get on and off with the velcro straps, no messing around with shoelaces. True to size. They're like walking on air.

Simply put, just the BEST SHOES I have ever had!! I have feet that are hard to fit and these shoes were perfect right out of the box. Not only are they a great walking shoe but they look nice enough for casual dress up. Thank you for making them available. Zappos is also THE BEST!

I bought these for my dad who has a wide foot. He has always worn New Balance for running, but as he’s gotten older, he has a harder time tying his shoes. He always wears his New Balance when we go out shopping or walking. I bought these shoes for him right before a trip. He wore them all the time and was completely happy with them from the beginning. He says they are very comfortable, fit well, and he loves how easy they are to get on and off. I highly recommend these shoes.

I had owned a similar pair of these shoes years ago and thought they would be great for our upcoming trip to Machu Picchu, in Peru. However, the shoes now have much more synthetic material than they did previously and they do not breathe very well resulting in very sweaty and stinky feet when on longer hikes. The comfort and cushioning while walking was fine but it doesn't take too long for feet to turn slimy feeling in warm weather. If you are walking in fairly warm or hot weather I would suggest another shoe.

Both my wife and I love these shoes. They are comfortable, long lasting, and quite light weight considering the type of shoe they are. I wear 4E widths in New Balance and these are slightly larger than normal. I also appreciate getting a New Balance shoe that doesn't have a large N blazing in color on the side of the shoe. :-)

New Balance was already great--but, these are more comfortable because of the hook and loop. If you are a senior or a diabetic---you have hit pay dirt; I have these in 2 colors and I will soon buy the third!

NB Comfy Sneaks -
VERY comfortable, felt a little wider than I'm used to. I usually take a 4E in NB since they run a little narrower. But still very good.

New Balance MW811 -
My son works in the building industry. He is in and out of people's houses all day long. Often it is courteous to leave his shoes at the door and the New Balance MW811 hook and loop is just what he needed--quick off, quick on. Since his feet tend to overpronate when he walks this was a good choice. I also bought the Powerstep Pinnacle orthotic inserts to go with these shoes and that worked out well. It's a good thing I ordered a size 11 shoe because he normally wears a 10-1/2 and when he tried on the New Balance MW811 he said they were a little short, even without the orthotics, that the 10-1/2 would have been too small, and the 11 fit just right.

These shoes were made for walking -
New Balance has always been my shoe for running. Now that I walk a lot in the winter to stay in condition, I found myself walking in running shoes, which was not working. Switching to the NB 811 walking shoe has been great. They are also a perfect casual shoe for regular use. Thanks, Zappos.

Aching Feet -
I am very happy with my purchase and the comfort. This is my first purchase of a Hook 'N' Loop shoe and wish I had tried them a long time ago. I hate shoelaces and usually leave them tied, and slip in and out of them, these fit just like a loafer if you want. I need an orthotic and the shoe accepts them with no problem and with added comfort. The only problem I can see with the shoe, aside from the cat not having laces to chew on, is they squeak. The first pair right out of the box, which all the credit to Zappos were replaced IMMEDIATELY. The second pair after wearing them for several days, not Zappos’ problem, but I do intend to contact NB and register a complaint. I do not intend to seek to replace these, they are comfortable, the fit is great, and they look good. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase them again.

Just what the doctor ordered -
At age 75 my feet have developed some dependable areas of pain, and this shoe coddles them. I wore them all day ever day thereafter starting the day they arrived. Very comfortable, though a bit utilitarian in appearance.

Excellent for air travel -
I travel with only a carry-on bag; this shoe is easy to remove at airport. Good support for walking; also to use in hotel's gym. The off white color is quite acceptable for casual slacks & sports coat to wear to church & other such occasions.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have owned. I bought them to replace my worn out walking shoes, but now I seem to have them on 24-7. They appear well-made and I expect to get years of service from them.
I like the dignified look of the shoes.
The "bone" color is not accurate. My shoes are more like concrete or battle-ship gray in color.
I just wore them on a 5-mile walk in Mexico. While very comfortable, they were not as breathable as I would have liked. So a pair of running shoes would probably be more useful for long walks outside.
I specially like the fact that they are made in the USA.
I would buy another pair of these without hesitation. For now, I think I will order me a pair of New Balance running shoes in size 7 4E to supplement these.
While Zappos shoes aren't cheap, the savings in time and gas looking around for shoes in my size makes it ok.

Great fit -
I have a 6 1/2 foot size so I'm forced to buy this shoe a half size larger as size 7 is the smallest this shoe comes in and the shoe normally does feel large. Which isn't a problem with the velcro adjustment, however, this time the shoe fit perfectly so either my foot grew or this batch was a little smaller.
