Very comfortable, but would be better if it came in a 9.5. This is about 1/2" too long. Very good arch support and stood up to trekking around DC in hot, humid weather.

I first saw Chaco Paradox, in Pesto Green, in the Zappos Catalog and was instantly attracted. However, I was not sure about the construction and ended up ordering a different shoe. Every time I opened the catalog, I went back to the green Chacos till I finally ordered a pair. I thought if I did not like them, I could send them back, since Zappos is wonderful about returns. When they arrived, all my fears melted away. Not only are they well made, and very cute, but they are one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. It is a combination between a sneaker and a sandle. They are light weight and easy to clean. These Chacos have also turned out to be great conversation starters since I receive tons of compliments when I wear them. Talking about them gives me the opportunity to turn others on to Zappos.com!

I bought the green. The fit is good, little or no break in period. I don't much like the look; it's kind of clunky looking, but kept them because they are comfortable.

These shoes were a great purchase! I already have a pair of Chaco sandals and like them. I bought these to use as a boat shoe for sailing, but have enjoyed using them while on my bike (they're great because they don't have laces), and as fun comfortable shoes around town (they're surprisingly comfortable and supportive). Like Chaco sandals, these shoes have yet to have any stink. I'm very pleased, and am recommending them to anyone I meet!

I am very happy with my first pair of Chacos, the Paradox. I have had trouble finding a comfortable shoe for walking; this shoe solves my problem. My feet get really hot when I walk; this great style with the woven top and sides give me ventilation and comfort. The arch support is fantastic. This shoe is great with or without socks. I ordered my normal size and they fit great. I couldn't be happier with this cute shoe.

Terrific shoe! Very comfortable. I have them in the green. I get a lot of "interesting" looks from people when I wear them out. Great in-between shoe when it's still a little too cool to wear sandals.

I wanted to update on this shoe. I traded it in for a size 7 (wear a 6.5) after wearing the other around the house for a while. They are just more comfortable and I can put socks on with them for the plane. When your feet puff up a little in heat or after eating salty food- the half size bigger is way better for me! I have been wearing them a lot lately and they really are very comfortable. I contacted Chaco to see if they can be worn in salt water and they said yes, as long as you rinse them off later. I have gotten them drenching wet and they do not dry THAT fast- the inside under the foot insert takes about a day to dry totally, although the foot insert dries quickly, so you could put them back on.

I have several pairs of Chaco sandals and love the footbed. This shoe is not quite as supportive, but very comfortable. It's cuter than shown. Wish it had the same support as the sandals but will enjoy it anyway.

I like It! Very comfortable footbed and you get more airflow than you would think. The elastic straps make it very soft but still holds the shoe to your foot. Had many compliments on the looks of it too! Should come in more colors!!!

I was looking for a comfortable outdoor shoe that will keep my feet cool and can handle the water. But I also needed good arch support as most water shoes do not have any arch support at all. I wasn't sure about the criss/cross webbing... but they are actually cute and the elastic makes them very comfortable as it gives and moves with each step. They have wonderful arch support just like the sandals that Chaco is known for. They are a snug...but in a good way. I just wish they had more colors.

Super comfortable shoe with adjustable strap. Slightly longer than other 9.5s Ive worn, but not a problem. Moderate arch. Best for water activity or with socks (even though that looks weird) if Im going on a dusty plants walk or mountain walk. My feet get filthy because of the ventilation due to the lovely woven straps.

Very comfortable! The Chaco footbed is tops. The straps are not tight (I have a high arch and cannot tolerate too-tight shoes), so more of a sandal feel. The look is funky...not for everyone...but I walk several miles a day and they do the job when I don't want the lace-ups. I am SO happy to see Chaco moving into shoes and not just the sandals.

I wear a 6.5, but have lately been buying 7s because I like to wear thicker socks with regular oxfords. However, I wanted to wear these without socks, and because they are listed in the sandal section, assume that is how they are meant to be worn and got the 6.5. If you plan to wear them with socks, you may want to order a size up and here is why: the elastic across the top is pretty snug, and I dont particularly have wide feet. It is not so snug that they are uncomfortable on my normal width feet, and I imagine they may stretch a little, but doubt a lot. They are pretty cool looking for an outdoor shoe and they are comfortable. The elastic is a little tight though, so keep that in mind, as you may want to order a size bigger either way - if for socks or if you have "thicker" feet and need more wiggle room. BTW, the patterned pieces are not elastic, just the 3 strips across the top.

I love my new Chaco Paradox shoes...they fill my 2 main priorities in a shoe...must be comfy and stylish. These are uber-comfy and pretty cute, too. Green is my favorite neutral color...goes with everything! Love my Chacos!!!

 | | My first experience with Zappos.com was during the winter a few years ago when I needed a pair of silver sandals to wear during the holidays. I saw Zappos.com advertised at the airport and thought to see what they were about. The rest is history. During that search for sandals I had as many as nine pairs here to try. They came the day after I ordered them via FedEx and those I didn't choose (I ended up with two pairs) I put back in the box, taped it shut, attached the prepared return label they had enclosed with the shipment, and dropped them off at the packaging store that same day. They were gone almost as easily as walking away from a pile of tried on rejects in the department store! Since then I use them more than 70% of the time when I am shoe shopping. There really isn't anything quite like trying on shoes with the clothes in my closet as well as trying for fit and comfort. It's an ideal way to buy shoes and I highly recommend it! There isn't another web shopping site anywhere that makes it any easier! | | ~ Fran C, September 13 2009
