A great compromise between the famous Chaco sandals and shoe! I love the sandal and shoe and the relief it has given my plantar foot pain! The Paradox is a good light shoe with a nice firm arch support. Only one strike against this shoe, I have to re-tighten the buckle strap many times a day as it slides! Chaco needs to fix this and make this a better product! Without a snug strap you lose the full arch support! Thanks.

Extremely comfortable. The upper shoe molds to the shape of your foot, lightweight. Has a good thick shock absorbing sole. The comfort of a sandal with the protection of a shoe; great casual wear.

We just spent two weeks in the Grand Canyon. These shoes were amazing. We hiked some very steep, wet, slippery rocks and these shoes did not slip at all. The other people in our group had Keens(?); they were miserable. They slipped and the shoes did not hold a grip on the wet surfaces. These Chacos are the best.

Great "closed sandal." Actually billed as an athletic shoe by the maker. I wanted a sandal or open (no socks) shoe, but wear orthotics and needed a closed back. This has it. Also, I needed more support than a traditional sandal and this provides it. Very comfortable and good-looking.

Extremely comfortable right out of the box. I particularly appreciate the arch support that is typically missing with most sandals. One can hike, walk or run in these. This is a very inventive use of materials, the only drawback can be the straps rubbing the feet as one gets adjusted to the sandals. However, I had a slight irritation but no blister. Overall, they completely replace the need for other shoes or sandals in warm weather.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: Numerous ones, but none with this use of material.

I have chronic pain in my feet and need a good long arch and metatarsal support, which the other Chaco sandals have, but this shoe does not. If you're looking for exactly the same ergonomics found in the flip and Unaweeps, then pass on these. Otherwise, they seem well constructed and styled.

I love these. Enough like a loafer to get by in a casual workplace, but as ventilated as a sandal. In size 13 okay for my narrower foot. Chaco is one of the few brands with enough arch support that I do not need to remove the insole to insert orthodics (though you could with this shoe). Other good options for super-ventilated no-socks sneaker is the Salomon Sport Amphibian, Techamphibian and Light Amphibian.

I ordered these specifically to wear while traveling in hot, humid climes this summer (especially places where sandals were not appropriate). The shoes were very comfortable, and I did a lot of walking in them. I'm very satisfied with these Chacos.

The shoes are great! I bought these for my uncle who is paralyzed; the webbing in the shoes allows air to circulate around his feet. It also gives his feet protection while he is in his wheelchair. They look good, and are well made. I got a size 15, regular width.

I bought this shoe for a trip to Walt Disney World. I wanted a shoe that gave good arch support and had good air flow. This shoe is very comfortable and has pretty good arch support. I didn't get very much time to break these in, but they were comfortable. This was my first experience with Zappos. Free shipping, arrived on the day advertised. All in all a good experience.

Excellent shoes. Great feel & all day comfort. Can go from office to river to lake with just removing dress socks. Because the straps are so pliable it is a little difficult slipping them on initially, but this is a very minor inconvenience.

Shoes arrived the next day!! The shoes are well constructed and are fairly comfortable. They do very well in warm wet weather. For my foot, they are a little too loose in the heel. The only other problem, and it may be applicable only to some persons, is that the straps are a little too short, so when I slip out of the shoes, the straps become completely undone and have to be re-threaded through the buckle.

An interesting concept, a little flawed in execution...I thought because of the webbing construction they would be very well ventilated and cool, but I found as with most shoes they still got pretty hot. Reasonably comfortable without socks, I find the strap across the toe box area a little tight, but maybe it will stretch in time. The toe of the shoe really does rise up as in the photos, but I actually think this helps avoid tripping with the rubber toe cap. Didn't like the factory insoles which became pretty malodorous quickly...a pair of after market CoolMax insoles work much better to keep things dry. With the instep strap released, fairly easy to slip on and off...a plus for going through airports.

 | | You have just won MAJOR brownie points with me! I am semi-disabled with a medical condition and can typically only shop online. What a wonderful customer service dept.
you have. I will DEFINITELY be using you frequently in the future. Keep up the good work, and please don't ever fall through the cracks with a flailing customer service team as many of the other online retailers have! Diana J.
