These could be my favorite shoes, buying them from Zappos was a pleasure, they are fast to deliver and if you have a problem there customer service is second to none. I would not hesitate to buy from them and recommend their site to everyone!

They're nice/roomy and run 1/2 size larger. They are very comfortable. If you have a flat foot like I do, you will need to get arch insert that I have from my other shoes. I love them and I love the customer service through Zappos. They have been great to work with our whole family.

I got the brown oily color option because they were out of regular brown in my size and when I opened them I was glad for it. Relative to the style, there were no surprises with this boot, the design, as well as the shade and texture of the leather is very cool, weathered enough to look good but not overdone. The size recommendation of other reviewers is good: aim smaller than your usual size. While some other reviewers suggested a full size smaller, I went with a half size smaller and they're pretty much perfect. The fit was questionable at first. I have a high instep and when I first donned these brothel creepers I thought I would have to send them right back as they were so snug on top. So the moment of truth was whether to bail and return or to walk off the carpeted surface and hope they wear in. I opted for #2 and wore them to work wear I can put some miles on traversing the labyrinthine halls of the GPO; it was there they started to chafe my heels. I yet persevered, with thicker socks and by day three of wear they felt like slippers. The leather is very supple and contours nicely to my feet now. I can't speak as yet to premature wear of the sole; more than one reviewer claimed 3 months or so of steady wear resulted in noticeable loss of tread. I don't suspect it'll be an issue for me, but even if this is the case I really like the style of these boots and, at this price point, would buy them just the same. I do wish the heel was about .1875" shorter but that'd be more for mister Clark than a caveat for other shoppers.

These shoes looked great when they arrived. However, the soles of the shoes wore out in less than six months. I am a teacher and am on my feet constantly. These shoes were a let down.

I have to confirm what other reviewers have pointed out regarding these boots: They are great looking, but the heels wear out quickly. In my case, it took just 4 months of semi-regular use. The soles are just not durable enough for frequent use. Too bad. I really like the way they look.

First pair of Clarks I\'ve owned. I have wide flat feet and it\'s hard to find a comfortable, stylish work shoe. The fit on these is superb. Excellent fit and no break-in period. Classic shoe. Great service from Zappos. No doubt I\'ll be buying this brand, probably this same shoe but in a different color, next time I purchase footwear.

Comfortable yes, but durable? These boots are great looking and feeling, but wore out quickly. Three months into wearing them the inside heel totally wore out and came out. But I called Clarks and dealt with friendly, efficient customer service and had new boots sent to me free two days later. Kudos to Clarks! I just hope these awesome boots last.

These boots did not wear well. The heel is worn out in 3 months; the laces are the most tangly strings I have ever seen. Some nights I have a very difficult time untying them. Had to buy Dr. Scholl's to stretch the use past 1 month.

The Clarks Roar are perfect. They feel like my favorite old pair of boots right out of the box. The old school classic looks are perfect with Jeans or slacks. I have become used to the high quality service Zappos provides. That level of service is improved upon by the selection they have.

Shoes feel great and are true to size; however, were not really true to color. Future buyers should know that the online color is much darker than reality. The other issue I have is that after only 3 weeks of daily wear, the tread on the sole is already almost flat.

The Clark Roar Boot is very well made in terms of construction. It has plenty of toe room and the arch support is solid and the entire sole has a nice give to it. It has a nice brushed leather surface to the entire body of the boot. I might also add that the service of Zappo is excellent and amazingly fast in terms of time of delivery. I have bought all of my Clark Shoes and Boots from Zappo and will continue to do so in the future.

I wear a size 13 sneaker, but ordered these in 12 due to Clarks sizing system. They fit perfectly and are now one of my favorite pairs of shoes. They go great with dark jeans or khakis. Just spray on some waterproofing for the suede and away you go.

Really like this boot.
This is a very comfortable boot, like the look and is great for all the walking I do in my job. The only problem I have is that the sole is starting to separate from the shoe. Possibly a one time defect.

This boot wasn't my first choice. Zappos was sold out of most of my first choices. With that said, I must have about 4 pairs of Clarks, great shoes. These boots are very comfortable, and fit true to size. I work in a very harsh environment, and haven't had them long enough to evaluate wear.

Slips in the back, rendering it unwearable -
I like the look of this shoe. It seems to fit, meaning that my toe has about a quarter inch in the front. Yet while walking in it, the rear slips up and down a large amount with every step. It is absolutely impractical and I have given it to Goodwill. Very disappointed.

Good boot, great look -
These boots are very comfortable, right out of the box. I spend my day between working in a hospital and going to school, which keeps me on my feet a lot. Not enough ankle support or cushion to be used as a work boot, but for a long, casual day on your feet they're just about perfect.

Larger look than Zappos photo. Fits larger than size. Recommend ordering one size smaller… i.e. 13 try for a 12. Sloppy looking, big-boot style on foot... certainly not dress/casual dress. Use as a warehouse looking boot. Heels make black marks on tile floors with any slight movement turn! Overall flat-footed feel... and definitely need an insert for a higher instep. Wouldn't buy again.

Comfy But Not Cozy -
Overall, this is a great boot for mild temperatures. In typical Clark fashion, these boots are immediately comfortable. The boots (at least in the brown color that I purchased) have a cool worn look to them right out of the box. Nobody is going to walk up to you and say, "Oh, I see you got new boots." They’re not attention getting in a flashy way. Similar to pre-faded jeans, they just appear to be something you've been comfortable wearing for a long time. Not in a bad way, in a great way. I guess I could sum it up by saying they are probably not a boot you would "shine." One negative aspect only: The boots are not insulated, simply one layer of leather, especially in the upper, which may be a benefit in the comfort department. So either buy a half size larger and layer your socks, or just plan on wearing them in above freezing temps. Best for fall and spring if you live in a northern climate. Overall, love the boot and would gladly purchase again.

These are not work boots -
Make no mistake about it, Clarks Roars are not heavy duty work boots, or for that matter even good hiking boots. The soft soles of these boots are not built to handle any hard use for long. These are comfortable walking around shoes, that are fine for work (if you work in an office) or for walking around the mall, or for general city street use. I have a couple of pair of these shoes and I like them a lot for that, but I have another pair of Red Wing heavy duty work boots for when I go off road. These are out of the box comfortable boots that will serve you well if you don't try to use then on a construction site or back packing in the Sierra mountains.
