The Vasque Velocity is the greatest trail shoe. Plenty of room in the toebox, gripping rocks and other trail hazards for secure footing in almost any situation.

Not for everyday comfort...
I was looking for a good everyday comfort/walking shoe. I over pronate, but have a high arch. I think these shoes are probably better for trail running, which is what they are made for. Next time I'll look for something with more foot bed cushioning. The fit is comfortable and seemed true to the size I normally buy in a running shoe.

Trail Runner -
I love how this shoe fits my foot and handles the trail. It is lightweight yet cushioned and protects my foot on the rocky trails.
The problem was the new cushioning on the soles heel. Two separate ovals worked themselves out and off the shoe after only two weeks of use which left openings for small stones to catch in the upper level of the sole.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: vasque velocity with solid, connected sole

Although this shoe fit well and has a rugged enough sole to prevent sliding on rocks, it has no cushioning. On the trail you could feel the rocks through the sole. I had pains in my feet and ankles that I never experienced with other trail shoes. I have changed the insoles but the cushioning is still insufficient. This is especially disappointing considering the cost of the shoe.

When my pair of boots arrived in less than perfect condition, I had hoped to exchange them for a new pair. Unfortunately, you were out of stock. A wonderful representative offered tips on how to clean up the boots, offered to search other stores to see if they had the boots in stock, and even asked if I would like a refund before returning the boots! I decided to keep the boots for a few more days, as I was not interested in purchasing from another retailer. Luckily, Zappos received more boots in stock within the week. Another rep sent my order straight away and ensured that the new pair were in perfect condition. Best yet - they sent the new pair with overnight shipping!
