Great Shoes!... not to fond of colors. Light & breathable. I used to wear full leather shoes but not anymore. I wish them had more colors available. Another great thing is the wide sizes.. 3E or 4E are hard to find, but thanks to Zappos, I can always count on being able to have some in my size.

We grew up wearing "tennis shoes". Anything that wasn't a dress shoe was a tennis shoe. Then came basketball shoes, running shoes, and eventually cross-training shoes. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a carpenter's shoe. But if there were, it would very closely resemble the CT1004. Carpenters climb on your roof, climb around in your attic, stand on ladders for hours at a time, and then go home and mow their lawns. They need traction, support and durability. In other words, their needs are a lot like a tennis player's. My favorite features of the CT1004 are the side to side support, the arch support and the overall stamina these shoes afford. And they are not too expensive. I also appreciate that there is no leather in the CT1004. I don't care for New Balance shoestrings though. Why do they have to be so long? And after a few washings they fray. If you walk through brushy areas they pick up all kinds of junk. Then you have to wash them, and you know what happens when you wash them. The shoe strings fray. Also, New Balance practices size inflation. In a Converse All Star (Chuck Taylor) I wear a 13.5. In a New Balance I wear a 16. Please. Personal vanity aside, I highly recommend you purchase a pair of CT1004 for yourself. Whether you pound nails for a living or if tennis is your game you will have a comfortable pair of shoes, that last a long time. And with no leather.

These shoes are not as good as the 1003's. The sides of the shoes are too flexible and the sole flexes too much. I play about 8 hours of tennis a week and I only buy New Balance tennis shoes, but this is the second pair of shoes that I've found below their excellent standards. So I might have to find a new brand.

I ordered the CT1004 in black as I was looking for a tennis shoe for tennis, distance walking, and some light running. I have difficult feet due to a surgery and while all the newest Nike tennis shoes felt narrow and too stiff, these shoes felt great right away. I originally ordered size 10EE which was really wide, but sent them back without trouble and re-ordered the normal width. Also, I wear a 10.5 in most brands but ended up needing a 9.5 for some reason. Shoes have good looks compared to other tennis shoes, great sole, and fit very well. Only complaint is they feel a little hot at times. Would also give Zappos a thumbs up for shipping and service.

This shoe was a perfect fit for me. Wore it playing tennis on both hard court and clay court. Did great on both surfaces. Would buy again if needed.

I have never once had a bad experience with Zappos.com and have found even returning a product is pain-free. Many people find buying shoes online to be a process that is a hassle based on shipping costs and not getting a chance to see the shoe actually on their foot, but you have done a tremendous job not only making shipping easy, and FREE, but also providing a number of angles for a shoe online so it can best be represented without physically holding it. I have purchased numerous shoes, sandals and boots from Zappos over the years and have never once been disappointed. Most recently, I was upgraded to expedited shipping for free on my most recent purchase, which again pointed out why I love Zappos so much! My educational background is a degree in marketing as well as an MBA focused in strategic management, which makes me extra critical of things like customer service as well as other business functions. Zappos always comes up as my example of companies who are doing things right and charting their own path to success. I recommend your site to people all the time and hopefully they will experience the delight I have come to know as 'the norm' when dealing with Zappos. Thank you to everybody there for their hard work, dedication and emphasis on the customer. It is not going unrecognized and you have me hooked for life!
