Love these shoes! Yes, you need to buy at least a half size bigger, or a full size if you have longer toes. I wore them straight out of the box all day teaching (standing up all day) and they felt so good I wore them the next day. The sole is thick and insulating so I didn't even need socks, and the inside lining is very comfortable. I wore them for a two day trade fair, moving in, standing for 12 hours, and moving out and my feet did not hurt. Having the heel height is a plus since I'm short and didn't want to re-hem pants. The toes area is nice and roomy, except in length; buy at least a half size larger!

I love these shoes! I have the brown J-41 Grand and they look so cute with jeans. They are very comfortable with a nice arch and a generous pad.\r\nI have one small problem with the top opening of the shoe seems to fall right on the top of my foot\r\njoint. However that may be my foot shape and I would tell anyone to give these a try!

My daughter told me about Zappos. I read the review which told about ordering a half size larger than usual. That was a blessing. The shoes that I ordered fit perfectly and are very comfortable. Thanks to the previous buyer who took the time to write a review!

I ordered a full size up and they were still too small. My toes pressed up against the end and my heal slipped around in the back. I have a long, narrow foot and seem to have this problem with all cute shoes, but was looking forward to the "engineering" of the J-41. I was disappointed. They feel light and sturdy, which would be great if they fit well, but I couldn\'t wear them more than a moment.

This is a very cool, casual shoe. Love the height and comfort it provides. My only issue is that sometimes my foot slides forward causing my toes to hit the front of the toe box. I try to wear socks that aren\'t too smooth/slippery to prevent this from happening. As for the sizing, I needed to order up a half size.

Cute shoe. I bought it a half size larger than usual and it fits just right. I have what's called a high volume foot (high instep, thick big toe), and the toe box from top to bottom is a little narrow for me. A bigger size would not help this. Shoes by Born are like this on my big toe as well, so if you have this problem with Born shoes, you might have it with these.

I just bought these shoes and I'm glad I read the reviews in advance. I normally wear a size 8, sometimes a 7 1/2. I decided to order a 8.5 and it fits perfectly. A size 8 would have been too tight. The shoes are incredibly comfortable and cute. They are a great alternative to sneakers, and I don't like wearing sneakers.

I broke my calcaneous (heel) and once I got out of my boot cast, I needed a pair of shoes that would support my foot and be comfortable to walk in. They obviously had to offer stability. Well, the J-41 Grand was the answer! I bought them a full size larger and the velcro strap allowed me to adjust as needed. They are more comfortable than sneakers and look stylish enough for work! I am constantly getting compliments as I limp along! I will be ordering them in every color they come in! J-41\'s are the most comfortable shoes I\'ve ever worn!

I love these shoes -- so comfortable, I was able to walk a mile in them the very first time that I put them on. The sizing definitely runs small -- I normally wear a 9 or 9.5, so went with the 9.5, and it just fits. I bought another pair of J-41s later in a size 10, and they fit just right.

I am probably too old to be wearing this type of shoe but bought them because they are so cute. Like other reviewers have said, these run small. I ordered up a 1/2 size but had to return them for a whole size larger than I usually wear. The velcro strap makes it very easy to fit across the instep. They are very comfortable to walk in and, because of of the weggie heel, are quite stable when walking across uneven pavement. Because of the sizing issue, I gave only 3 stars overall but am glad I finally decided to get them.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. Out of the box comfort. I did have to buy a full size larger than what I normally wear. I love the style and they are the pefect shoe for work. I wear them almost every day.

One of the best all around shoes I have owned! Extremely comfortable and can wear them all day long. Love the rubber sole in winter. They run about 1/2 size small. I love them so much I bought 2 colors.

I followed the advice of all the useful reviews here, and ordered a half-size up. Definitely the right move. But the toe box is very low (i.e., pressed down on the big toe) and the material at the toe is unforgiving. This shoe made my big toe area ache and tingle within a few minutes of wearing it, just sitting down. (I should have listened to the reviewers on this issue, and passed on these to begin with.) It's a cute shoe, as are many J-41s, but it seems ridiculous that a brand that markets itself as making athletic, comfortable shoes can get a basic element of shoe design so wrong. Luckily, easy to return. No more J-41s for me.

Absolutely fabulous shoes! After I wore mine for the first time, I immediately ordered a second pair exactly the same. They are stylish, comfy, and versatile. I wear them to work with skirts and suits as well as with jeans or shorts. I was glad I chose 1/2 size larger than my usual shoe size.

I am wearing this shoes now. My feet are happy. The design promotes freedom and support to your feet. Mega comfortable. Everyone who see me wearing this shoes don\'t quit complimenting them. I do not like the fact that now everyone around me will order their own pair. Hope you have plenty of them on stock.

Not thrilled - I bought these shoes because of all the great reviews. I bought half a size up (size 8) and even though this is probably right, they just don't feel good. I'm wearing them today around work (at a desk job) and the toes on my right foot are feeling crushed. I've tried wearing these shoes around for small jaunts and I just don't know if they're ever going to break in and get comfortable. My feet are not misshapen or oddly formed in any way, so I don't know what the problem is. I do know that it's too late to return them, and that I'm out quite a bit of money. Hence, not thrilled with these shoes.

Love! Just remember to order up a 1/2 size. They do run short. But the toe box is wide and makes up a bit for the shortness. I wear an 8 and ordered the 8-1/2. It was still a "tad" on the short side, but not enough to cause discomfort.

These shoes are great! I do tours, driving and walking and I wear these on all sorts of terrain and they do great. I've even had to run in them! I'm thinking of buying another pair.

Got the shoes first in a size 7 and my toes were squished. So I re-ordered in a 7.5 and though slightly big, they are really comfortable, especially with socks. The inside is very soft--I have sensitive feet and usually cannot wear shoes without socks. They offer surprisingly good arch support, look cute--sporty but fashionable--and the velcro strap makes them easy to take on and off. I especially like the platform that helps give me some height--unlike my Mary Jane Ryka shoes--but they are still really comfortable and I can walk in them all day long. Great for travel.

No Buying My Second Pair -
I love these shoes! They have quickly become a staple in my shoe line up. So much so that I'm buying a second pair to reserve for when these do finally give it up. Comfortable walking all day in. Don't slip or slide on wet pavement. Still look great after a year but are starting to show their age (although part of that it my insistence on wearing them everywhere from the streets of NYC to my garden in Sonoma, CA.). I do have them in a .5 size larger than others so that's no joke.

The shoes are beautiful looking and the height is perfect. I rated it a 4 star b/c when I walk, all my toes are touching the front of the shoes so it's not that quite comfortable (I don't think it's too small or big b/c when I standstill, they feel fine but when I walk then my feet move to the front. I also tried a size smaller but had to return because too tight).

I was born with two club feet and while I have done my share of dancing, hiking, and generally having fun with feet that work okay, the many operations left them rather unpretty, a little misshapen and definitely wider/shorter than most feet in proportion to the carrying bodies. Finding shoes that fit and are comfortable is a rarity for me. I search through stores regularly, more often than not
leaving empty handed. I took a chance with Zappos. There were some excellent deals and the size claimed to be what I might need. A box arrived. It said "Packed with Happiness." Inside was my order – 4 pairs of shoes and a pair of boots. They not only all fit, they all fit amazingly well. The box may very well have been packed with happiness, but let me tell you, not as much happiness as it was opened with!!! Thank you oh so much. You can't imagine what this is for me.
