My daughter has a high instep and often needs a wide shoe even though her foot is not technically wide. These shoes were able to accommodate her foot. They are dressy but have a good tread and can be worn to school.

Finally, success in finding a quality Mary Jane shoe that fits! I have recently tried at least 6 different brands for my 4 year-old daughter, including some very expensive European brands. None fit properly; many were too narrow, although she has a medium width foot. A common complaint from her was that the other brands hurt around the ankle. I also had the requirement that it have a leather lining, and it is getting harder and harder to find shoes with leather inside and out these days! We received the Courtney from FootMates today and are thrilled to find that it fits, has plenty of growing room, and is comfortable! The padded collar goes all around the shoe so that it doesn't dig in anywhere. They seem to be cut a little lower so that it is not hitting the ankle, too. The shoe has a comfortable leather lining that is padded but also offers plenty of support. The toe box is wide and affords ample wiggle room. The lug sole gives a secure grip and doesn't detract from the looks of the shoe as I feared it would. It's a very cute shoe that will go nicely with casual outfits and dresses. I bought the black leather and it goes with everything except the dressiest of dresses. My daughter was recently measured at Stride Rite as a 9.5M, and that is what we ordered in this brand. It seems a wee bit bigger than the Stride Rites we have tried, but not so big that it is a problem. It looks fine and fits fine. Maybe not quite a half-size bigger. She will get plenty of wear out of this shoe!I hope that this shoe does not get discontinued! I will repurchase over and over!

These shoes are awesome. The fit is perfect! Zappos rocks! I order all my little girls shoes from Zappos, the returns are super easy if the fit is not correct and customer service is A+++++\r\n\r\n

True to size, my daughter wears Wide width. This shoe accommodates her foot with a high/wide toe box. Used strictly for school, so far holding up very well with little wear showing.

Shoes look nice. They are very basic so good for a school shoe. The material does wear a little at the toes but doesn't look too bad.

The Ugg Ultimate Short style is not true to size. (They DO run big; I recommend ordering a full size down.) I'm usually a size 8, which were out of stock when I was looking. I tried them on at a local store, & my usual size was too big; a full size smaller ended up fitting perfectly. (Size 8 is probably good for anyone who is usually a size 8.5 or 9). These boots are so comfortable. They feel so soft & cushy, I sometimes wear them without socks! I don't know why I waited so long to own a pair...now I've got my eye on my next pair!

Very functional shoe -
My daughter likes to dress up for school and these shoes are perfect. Nice look and they work on the play ground. They fit perfect and are comfortable. She wants to wear them everywhere. I have a hard time finding a shoe like this that is cute and durable. Will definitely buy these again.

Cute but not durable -
We're happy with the fit and look. I especially like the wide toe box and rugged treads. Within two wearings, the finish started coming off the toes, however. One "toe-dragging" incident and the black shiny finish started peeling off one shoe, revealing a gray dull toe. The peeling has only continued on the toes of both shoes, which tells me these aren't very durable. My daughter hasn't had this trouble with other shoes, including other patent leather ones. She likes these shoes so much, we're continuing to wear them for everyday play, but I'll now have to find something for dress up. I was hoping to get both a couple dressy wearings and then some everyday wear.

My picky 5-year-old daughter with thick, wide feet loves her shoes! She put them on (with Tic-Tac-Toe seamless socks from Zappos), and said, "Now that's what I'm talking about!" She wears them daily for school. We get dressed now with no complaints. Thank you, thank you, thank you. These shoes have held up well so far, though I wish they had rubber toe caps because she's on her knees a lot. I occasionally rub a small amount of Vaseline on the toes to hide scuffs.

Not as durable as I'd like.
My 2-yr-old daughter does seem to like these shoes, but she has worn down the toe more quickly than I'd like. Maybe she's particularly hard on shoes, since others seem to not have had this problem. But she does like them, and they are cute enough, so I guess I'm not really complaining!

Great shoes for growing feet.
This is my daughter's second pair of this style/brand shoe, and she loves them because they are so comfortable. I love them because they are a little wider than normal and will provide comfort as she grows, and even though they are a little pricey, they are of such good quality that they will last through 3 pairs of other shoes.

Adorable shoes!
I bought these shoes for my 2 year old daughter hoping for something that would look great with more casual dresses and nice pants outfits and these are perfect. My daughter has very flat feet that are also wide so it's not always easy to fit her. She loves them and this shoe has nice arch support too. I would definitely buy these again for her.

These boots are incredible. I am 5'0" so I had resigned myself to never have a beautiful pair of full length boots – they usually come up to my knees. The shaft height of these is perfect for petites, and they are such a stunning pair of pull on boots. My only complaint is that it is a little roomy around my calf, but it allows me to wear them with jeans as well as with tights. I wear a 6, I bought the 6.5 and put a gel insole, allowing me to wear with thick socks in the cold winter!

Wonderful shoes!! I can never find a wide width shoe at stores. I was very happy with the fit and my daughter LOVES them. She wants to wear them everyday. Delivery was soooo fast and it came nicely packaged. I am very pleased with Zappos.com.

A Great Shoe!
What a wonderful shoe! Not only is it super cute, but it's well made and accurate in fit for a wide width toddler foot. It looks great with a school uniform AND casual clothes. FootMates are a great alternative to other traditional wide width shoe brands. I will definitely purchase more!

Love these sandals. I bought them before I spent a month in Italy over the summer and wore them all the time. Never a problem, looks good with shorts or pants.

Very cute and comfortable for my daughter that started Kindergarten. She wears them every day w/ her uniform and loves them. I love the rubber sole for the playground.
