Very nice shoes for the gym. I've been using my running shoes for gym shoes. Doing squats with my old shoes would tear them up after a while. I wanted something that offered some cushioning but also firm and these shoes accomplish that for me. I've always liked the fit of Asics and this one doesn't disappoint.

Nice trainer -
I decided to try the Gel-Intensity for use in the gym after switching to the 2140 for running. The fit is similar except the Intensity seems a bit shorter. I often wear a wide shoe, but I find little difference between the regular and wide (2E) for these. The unusual asymmetric lacing seems a plus. I haven't had them that long yet, but so far I like the Asics fit better than my previous shoes, it's more snug.

A good shoe -
Shoe fits perfectly. Great support for multiple training environments. If you are mainly going to run in them, I would go with something else but if you are lifting, doing some sort of aerobics, elliptical, etc. these are a great 'fit.'

Great all round shoe -
Having worn Asics Gel shoes for many years running, including marathons, I thought that I'd change my options for the gym to something tailored more for cross training. Overall I'm really happy with the shoe though was a little disappointed with the support. Plus, it seems to run a bit on the larger size.
