Great gym bag -
I bought the Kavu Climbers Bag as a gym bag and it works great for that purpose. It has two interior elastic pockets that fit shower shoes on one side and is more than big enough for a water bottle on the other. The zippered outside pocket is great for securing items you need often. The large main interior section holds the rest of my gear with room to spare and the draw string storm flap allows me to separate my sweaty shoes so they rest on top or keep everything under wraps. What keeps this from being a 5-star item is the wimpy velcro on the front pocket flap and the lack of a zipper or magnet closure for the main compartment. I can see how things would disappear into the bottom if you put many small things in it, but as a gym bag, its campus style suits me and it's easy to wear. Perfect! As usual, Zappos ships fast, fast, fast. Great customer service.

Cool bag, but not perfect for me.
I recently took this bag on a week long trip through Oaxaca province in Mexico. I alternated between having lots of stuff in the bag to just having the minimum. The more stuff you put in there...the harder it is to find.
There's an internal divider that sections off about 1/4 of the interior. There's an external water bottle pocket (excellent), and an external pocket with a velcro closure to put stuff you use more frequently. This would help with the black hole of the main bag, except this pocket's closure is much too insubstantial - just a small square of velcro. If you put anything of value in there, you will constantly be checking the pocket to make sure it stays closed.
My main comlaint has to do with the "interior storm flap". Great idea, except it's HUGE. Really, the "flap" is a whole 'nother stuffsac. It expands the volume of the bag by 100%. Who needs to stack contents up so far that you double the height of the bag? This would just be an oddity if it wasn't for the fact that the voluminous material of the cover falls into the main content area, and just adds to the confusion within. If you cinch it closed and tuck it in, you could fish around in the dark for hours before finding the opening leading to your stuff.
On the plus side, it's roomy, and the padded shoulder strap is definitely comfy.

This is a super cute bag and I really, really wish it would have worked out! However, the bag is incredibly big, way too big for me. It is hard to tell how big it is in the picture. The strap is really wide also and feels funny lying on the chest.

 | | You're pretty awesome. Let me count the ways: 1. You make it easy for me to find great shoes. That should be enough. BUT I SOLDIER ON. 2. Pretty darn good website. There are lil' bugs here and there (sometimes narrowing a search doesn't totally work, but for the most part it does), but comparing you folks to some other nightmarish sites I've used, especially with the sheer amount of product you have for me to see...well done. 3. Convenience. HOLY CONVENIENCE, BATMAN! Much like Ian McKaye of the band Fugazi, I am a patient boy, I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait. But when I order from you I don't have to. I've had shoes get to me so fast I actually thought there must have been a mistake because it got to me TOO quickly. Guys, that is some serious service. This is why I buy shoes exclusively from you. 4. Customer Service. I had a store credit recently, but like an idiot, I deleted the email with the credit code. I called up and talked to a totally friendly, funny, helpful guy. He said he'd take care of emailing me the code and all would be right with the world. OH NOES! The email, actually never showed up. So I called back and spoke with a totally friendly, funny, helpful girl (with a completely pretty voice, I'll be honest) and she got me a coupon code while I was on the phone (THAT'S good turnaround) and explained that there were the dreaded *technical difficulties* and the other dude didn't actually screw up. Guys, I've never talked to a company on the phone and ended with such a good feeling. I have friends that I don't enjoy talking to on the phone that much. Close friends. Is it ok if I just call to talk sometime? I'm kidding. Maybe. 5. You ALL seem to have a sense of humor. You guys are frakkin' funny! Your email, any of the dig deeper sort of stuff (blogs, joke of the day, etc.). That is beyond refreshing, thank you so much :) Honestly, as long as you guys are around, you got my bidness. Rock over London, rock on Chicago. | | ~ Zachary S., November 07 2009
