I love NB shoes because they support all different kinds of feet, including my wide (D) relatively flat feet. I used to wear the 1009 2 years ago until I found the 1011s last year. I have literally worn through my 1011s and ordered replacement 1011s as my first order from Zappos. It turns out that I ordered the men's shoes. I called Zappos and told them my error and they said it wasn't a problem at all. In fact, they credited my account with the price I paid for the men's shoes and said the women's pair was on sale. The woman on the phone ordered me my new pair on Saturday and I received them on Monday all before I even mailed back the men's pair. I love Zappos and will use them for all of my New Balance needs. Now the shoes. This is the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. I use them in step and kickboxing classes, walks and runs, and everyday use. It feels like there is memory foam on the balls of the feet. Even after wearing them for over a year, they are still comfortable. I only got a new pair because the netting ripped near the toe (exposing my sock) and they turned completely gray.

I love these shoes. I have a small bunion and the start of a neroma, but these shoes help me do what I love to do with minimal pain: run!

Both the WR1011 and WR817 were selected because of my wide flat feet with bunions and narrow heels, plus my current (painful!) plantar fasciitis (both heels). All my previous New Balance ran totally true to size, but I'm exchanging the WR1011 for a half size larger. Overall, I'm rating these an optimistic 4 stars, assuming that graduating from a 8.5 to a 9 is all that is needed for this Cinderella to find her magic slipper. If you find that for some reason the WR1011 does not work for you, I recommend the WR817; it was wonderful right out of the box.

I have rheumatoid arthritis, an ankle replacement and a subtalar fusion, 3 surgeries later, these are the only and best shoes I can wear. Love them.

New Balance has done it again! Love these shoes. They are very comfortable. I train dogs and have to be on my feet a lot to do that, obviously. These shoes give wonderful support and are so comfortable right out of the box.

This shoe (WR1011) fits great! I have always worn NB, and SL-2 just always seem to fit out of the box. So I have learned to stick with the SL-2 shoes. Also I am happier this time because NB made this shoe a bit longer. Most of the 8 1/2 I order are just a tad short, but a 9 is too big. So I always dreamed if they would just make the 8 1/2 just a tad longer, then they would be perfect and they have! My NB 844 and WR817 are both short, hitting my big toe, but not these, I have room now! I love the looks of these. I tried Saucony, but just didn't feel as comfy as NB. And I can't say enough about Zappos. The free shipping back and forth and their outstanding customer help and fast shipping, is just unheard of in today's world. Order one afternoon, have shoes next morning. Who would have thunk it? I give Zappos ten Stars! And just ordered my husband a pair of NB to try cause I love 'em, and want them to have all my business.

These sneaks look great. However, I wore these to staff a conference where I would be on my feet all day and it felt like there were rocks under my arches. These shoes were very uncomfortable and I will be exchanging them for another style. Thankfully, I brought my old sneakers just in case. Always carry back up shoes!

These are great shoes. They are very comfortable. This is the 2nd pair of NB1011 I have purchased. I do agree with other posts - to order 1/2 to a whole size larger than you wear normally. I went to a local store to purchase the shoes and they would have had to order the size I need (2 weeks for delivery). I looked on Zappos.com, ordered on Saturday, and received them Monday! Super FAST shipping. THANKS!

These shoes are super comfy. I know my running shoes are getting old when my knees start to ache after a run; I've had these for months and they are holding up great. I also appreciate that the styling is not super flashy or girly.

Not the best looking shoe, but it’s great right out of the box. I have a very high arch and minor foot problems and this shoe was very comfortable and supportive while working out. I would, however, consider going up at least one-half to a whole size larger. I will never buy another shoe without these type shoelaces. They never slip and always stay tight. Great product. Now I am searching for all the same features in a cuter style for daily use.

I love these shoes!! They are the most comfortable shoes I have worn in a long time. I have always worn Ascis, and never been a fan of New Balance, but I am sold on these sneakers.

Too narrow in the mid section.
This shoe is made on a last with a wide toe box and narrow heel. I found it too narrow in the mid-section and it hurt the side of my foot in the mid section. My big toe also hit the top of the shoe. Otherwise, I liked the styling and cushioning. I ordered this shoe in a 7.5 D, although I normally wear a 6.5 D or 7 B.

This is the best shoe I have ever owned. I am a nurse on my feet on cement flooring eight hours a day. I have had fusions in both feet and it is nearly impossible to find a comfortable shoe. I am ordering a second pair.

Good with orthotics -
My physical therapist "prescribed" these to complement my orthotics just before I was going on vacation. I wore them nonstop for a month and was able to walk much more than I expected. Apparently they really hold your foot in place but look like a regular running shoe.

Very Good Walking Shoe -
I like NB shoes for walking because they have a roomy toe box. I ordered this one a full size larger and it fit perfectly. It's great for motion control, but the toe box could use more cushioning.

My feet don't hurt when wearing New Balance WR1011 -
Ordered these on a Wednesday, received on Friday. Went to work Saturday with these on my feet for 16hrs. (I'm a nurse...did the same thing Sunday) No "break-in" time needed. These felt wonderful on my feet! I've had a problem with left hip & knee pain from an old injury. Usually by the end of my 1st 16hr shift, my knee & hip are starting to hurt. Not with these shoes on! I also have had a problem with plantar fasciitis & need good arch support. These have it! Would recommend for anyone needing a good, stylish supportive shoe.

Good long distance running shoe -
I owned the previous model to this one and loved them, so decided to go with the newer pair. This model has good, perhaps better cushioning and the midfoot/lace portion wraps more snuggly than the previous model which improved the fit for me. Ended up choosing a half size larger than previous pair.

Although they may look a bit clunky (soles). These shoes fit from the first try. I have never had shoes that felt like they were already broken in on the first wearing. An A+ for these

I ordered these to walk on my treadmill... I wear an 8 EE, they were plenty wide but tight on my toes, I only ordered an 8 because 7 1/2 is tight with good socks, so I recommend sizing up 1/2 size or more...Zappos is a GREAT site for those of us who need wider shoes that are hard to find in stores because of their great service and free shipping...love this website!!!

Pronator - wide forefoot - narrow heel - perfect!
This shoe replaces my 766's that are built on the SL-2 last. They fit almost identically to that shoe, and are perfect if you have a wide foot across the toe, but have a narrow heel, and moderate pronation. Also good if you just like a roomier toe area, would probably be good for people with toe problems. I am a walker, not a runner. My foot does slide around a little bit in the toe, but you can easily adjust the laces to help with that. New Balance web-site has instructions on lacing for this problem. Buy your normal New Balance size, which for me, is a half to a full size larger than a street shoe. I might buy another pair before they discontinue this model!

A bit on the expensive side, but I buy my shoe to last about a year. I have wide feet so being able to get it in a wider size is key. It is great for cardio use (treadmills, elliptical, cross-country walking, etc.). It is a bit "brighter" than the photo. Overall, a good purchase.

Relief at last! For someone with my feet this is a great shoe! I am a long-distance walker training for a marathon; boots are not good for fast walking and my leather walking shoes were agony when my feet started to swell (after 10 miles). Enter the NB 1011; deep enough for orthotics, a big boxy toe, and flexible to accommodate swelling. The heel accommodated a walking stride (some running shoe heels are too flared out in back to use for walking).

Great shoes for extra wide feet - I've always been a fan of New Balance sneakers for my short, extra wide feet. I own 2 pairs of these shoes and wore them in the Breast Cancer 3 Day in Philly, where I walked 60 miles over 3 days. I had absolutely no foot problems during the walk. I got them when I was about 2/3 done training. My only problem up to that point was sore big toes from the friction of my toe rubbing on the top of the shoe. These have a deep toe box and those problems went away when I started wearing these shoes.
