Excellent energy return -
Originally bought these shoes just for trail running. What I noticed after only a short break-in period, that while running on the road to get to the trails, the return of energy they would give to help propel my foot forward in the next stride was VERY noticeable. I'm a neutral runner, who usually buys just cushioning shoes, but these ABSOLUTELY make me a faster runner, they have plenty of cushioning, and I feel my legs are LESS tired after a long run. Buying a second pair now!

I really dig these shoes. I\'m a road runner, but entered a XC 5k and got these shoes just for the rugged and slippery corse. I am now starting to use the Asics attack for all my runs, especially my long runs. They\'re light, fast, and most important they\'re comfortable. 5 stars all the way.

Comfortable Trail Runner, But Poor Footbed -
These are probably the most comfortable trail running shoes I have ever owned. But, I had to search for a replacement footbed immediately after my first run. I have normal width and arched feet. The footbed that comes with these shoes is inexcusable -- it's paper thin and flimsy. It would slide under-foot while running and bunch up in the toes or heel. Sadly, Asics doesn't make a replacement footbed so I had to use a Montrail footbed which is sturdier. Otherwise, the shoes are now very comfortable. Strange sizing, too. A little small. I'm hoping the next version of these is better.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: Montrail Hurricane Ridge or Continental Divide

This shoe is light weight and very comfortable. I use it for cross training (jogging, biking and weight lifting). The shoe material allows your foot to breath and keeps things cool. The colors also go great with a pair of jeans.

I have never once had a bad experience with Zappos.com and have found even returning a product is pain-free. Many people find buying shoes online to be a process that is a hassle based on shipping costs and not getting a chance to see the shoe actually on their foot, but you have done a tremendous job not only making shipping easy, and FREE, but also providing a number of angles for a shoe online so it can best be represented without physically holding it. I have purchased numerous shoes, sandals and boots from Zappos over the years and have never once been disappointed. Most recently, I was upgraded to expedited shipping for free on my most recent purchase, which again pointed out why I love Zappos so much! My educational background is a degree in marketing as well as an MBA focused in strategic management, which makes me extra critical of things like customer service as well as other business functions. Zappos always comes up as my example of companies who are doing things right and charting their own path to success. I recommend your site to people all the time and hopefully they will experience the delight I have come to know as 'the norm' when dealing with Zappos. Thank you to everybody there for their hard work, dedication and emphasis on the customer. It is not going unrecognized and you have me hooked for life!
