I'm very picky when purchasing shoes. The PI Syncros are my first purchase of this brand. All I can say is they are as good as it gets for a trail shoe. I should note that I wear them almost daily; they are that versatile.

I am currently on deployment in Afghanistan and needed a shoe that could meet the durability and comfort requirements my situation presented. Durability wise, I needed a shoe that could withstand about 5-7 miles on the treadmill per week, three sessions of crossfit per week, 1.5 hours of weight training per day (6 days a week), and various other sprinting and strength training exercises on uneven terrain. Comfort wise I needed a shoe that provided padding and stability to support my 6'04", 235 lbs frame. After reading the reviews on Zappos.com, I decided that I should try the Pearl Izumis but to do this, I had to order them without ever trying them on which made me nervous. They arrived in Kabul within five days and I could not have been happier. These shoes required minimal break-in, fit true to size and provided more comfort and stability than I was used to in the past from Brooks, Asics, and Adidas. On average I purchase a new pair of work out shoes every four months because of the abuse I place on them, but I have had these shoes almost five months and they are still going strong with very little signs of wear. Thank you Zappos for your great reviews and speedy shipments.

Great shoe for off trail running and walking. Very grippy sole and lots of cushioning. These run a quarter size bigger than the other Pearls Ive worn so I dont need to size up a half size on these like I do on the SynroInfinity or SynchroFloat III. I wear a 12 in Asics 2100s and 12 work fine in these for me. All three of these models are very comfortable running/training shoes. The SyncroSeekIII has tread for gripping off road rocks and loose trail stuff. A great shoe!

Great Shoe -
I've been through many models of New Balance, Asics & Brooks running shoes, and I have to say that Pearl Izumi is my favorite. I had stopped searching after the Asics Gel Kayano, which is a very good shoe, but the Pearl Izumi "Syncroseek" tops even that. Very comfortable & highly recommended. When these wear out, I may try another model of PI specifically for overpronators, but so far, with orthotics, this model is working out just fine.

Very good -
This shoe provides the best support, comfort, cushioning and good looks of any shoe that I have tried. Better than the ASICS 2130 and far better than the New Balance both of which I own. I have a wide foot with normal heel. Perfect, I will buy more Pearl Izumis.

Unique -
I bought these believing they would not be an 'A' fit because of previous experience with Pearl Izumi shoes - they tent to be too narrow for my foot - they were too attractive to pass up at least trying. I was pleasantly surprised during break-in that these work for me! No insoles - I usually wear Super Feet green - these shoes I do not need them. The toe box is wider than other Pearl shoes I've tried. I haven't been on the trail in these yet, but grass and running path has been a pleasure in this shoe.

 | | Didnt know where to send a note to the full staff so Im putting it here. I havent shopped Zappos for a few years (how many Birkies can one gal wear at a time)! Ive hunted and hunted for boots. Not much call for tall boots in the Phoenix area, but the styles changed this year so I wanted to get with it. I hate going to stores so I tried the internet, thought I found gold, but ended up returning because they were too loose or too tall or too short. The light bulb went off and I came back to Zappos and they had calf and height measurements listed - what a brilliant idea!!! I found black suede and grey leather and I had them at my front door a day later! How much better could it get: both pairs fit!!! Please post this for all employees so they can know their efforts are very much appreciated... you all could teach the rest of the corporate world how it should be done. Thanks again, Kirsten O. | | ~ Kirsten O., October 29 2009
