Performance - This shoe is amazing. I used to be a professional triathlete and these days I am a long distance runner. I have put in about 1,200k of running in the last 5 months with these shoes both trail and road. I am able to run hard and fast in these and not get tired from having to lift them over and over. I looked at these shoes for the first time to day to see if they needed replacement, maybe. I didn't see much wear on them at all. I love how flexible this shoe is. Even though this shoe looks like a racing flat, there is still enough cushion to run where ever. I am going to buy another shoe this week and I will buy this one again, no question about it. I do, however, think that this shoe fits small. I have 3 black toenails from these shoes, but it is worth it.

He loves them!
I bought these for my dad as a Father's day gift. I wasn't home when the package was delivered, but he was, and had them on when I got home. Every time he wears these shoes, he raves about them, loves everything about them - says it's like walking around barefoot with cushion.

The ASICS Gel-Speedstar 3 is an amazing performance road trainer. It works well for my neutral gait and has a surprising amount of cushioning. The shoe has a snug enough fit around my narrow feet, and has a nice sized toe box. The traction is perfect for the roads, even when wet and rainy, and works well for fire roads too. The open mesh upper is very breathable and lets water drain out of it very easily. This shoe would probably do well in a marathon if you want a little more cushioning.

Zappos service is unbelievable. I ordered these shoes Monday night and they were on my front porch when I got home from work on Tuesday! This is the first Asics performance shoe I've had in a number of years and I really like them. They are very light and have a roomy toe-box, which I prefer. Forefoot cushioning is excellent which is a must for me. I've been running in Brooks Burn, but they are just not available anymore. I've only had one run with them but Gel Speedstar 3 seems to be an excellent replacement. I will say that if there were a color selection - the yellow and black would not be my first choice!

Great Shoe and Great Service -
I have been an avid fan of the Asics DS Trainers over the past few years, but decided to try the Speedstar 3 this time after reading reviews. The shoes are great - maybe the best pair I've ever run in. Plus, the service I received from Zappos.com was unbeatable. I ordered the shoes at 9:37pm on Thanksgiving for the free regular (5-7 day shipping), and within the hour I received an email saying they were going to have my shoes shipped priority at no additional cost! Then at 10:20am the next morning my new Speedstars arrived at my door. You can't get service that fast anywhere! I am now a loyal customer.

Run like the cops are chasing you -
The generous toe box makes Asics my favorite brand. The light weight makes the Speedstar my favorite model. I am on my second pair. I "treat" myself to one 5-mile jog per week and look forward to strapping on my Speedstars every Saturday morning. I have a high arch and no particular pronating issues. How can not love a name like Speedstars?? These featherweights are like wings on your feet.

Great running shoe -
I picked this shoe because of the low profile heel, neutral cushioning and light weight. The shoe has performed extremely well for me. I've done a lot of research about how the foot works, how you should fit your shoe, running form, etc. Here are a few notes that may help your selection of this shoe: There is no arch support. This should be fine if you have a high arch, because you'll need the space for your arch to collapse during foot strike. This may present a comfort / muscular problem if you have a flat arch. I have around 350 miles on this shoe. The forefoot is starting to feel pretty thin, not as plush as when it was new. Also the mesh upper is getting slack. It is getting more challenging to secure the shoe well. I am starting to notice some ankle sensitivity which is due, I believe to the loose upper. It feels like normal wear, and I still feel the shoe has performed very well over time, especially for its light weight. Regarding orthotics, when the shoe was new, adding an orthotic pushed my foot up too high and my heel felt uncomfortable and insecure. As the shoe has worn, I have continued to experiment with them. I found they work very well for walking (when you need the least arch movement for shock absorption), but running still feels like the heel is too high and not secure. I just ordered a second pair.

This shoe is awesome! In the first three runs that I had it, my injury had already felt almost completely better. This shoe is extremely light. But it still has an incredible amount of cushioning. Thanks to this shoe, I got back in shape fast. This is a miracle shoe!

Very Excellent Trainer/Racer - I bought the Speedstar3 for its combo of light weight, cushioning and support. Of the three attributes I listed its weakness is the support. I'm not saying it's not supportive because for a trainer/racer it is very supportive. Compared to other Asics in the neutral cushioning category it has less support than shoes like the Nimbus10. To me the shoe feels like a slightly firmer, wider version of the Nimbus10 (the underweight and not-so-developed little brother if you will). I use this shoe for my training runs and it performs extremely well. The shoe actually feels better when running in it. It has a sweet ride to it and I noticed that it seems quiet when running. I've logged almost 130 miles and would highly suggest this shoe if you are looking for a lightweight trainer/racer in the neutral cushioning category.

Asic's Gel-Speedstar 3 -
Great fit. Really nice and light. Good for anyone that wears out the outside heel of their shoes. Good cushion as well. Lower arch support works for my flat feet.

I just got this shoe yesterday and took it for a spin today and I loved it!!! I was only able to go about 2.5 miles in my old shoes because my feet would just get too sore and my legs would hurt, but I ran 5 miles today in these shoes and my feet and legs never once got sore... my legs did get tired - come on these aren't miracle shoes haha. They are lightweight and so comfortable. I highly recommend this shoe. Also, I have high arches and it gives great support.

Asics Gel-Speedstar 3 is a great shoe -
I run about over 40 miles a week and the Gel-Speedstars do wonders for my feet. They are extremely comfortable and light as a feather. Sometimes it feels like I’m not wearing shoes. They breathe well too! Don't let the picture fool you, they are actually a dark yellow color, but look very nice when they're on your feet, I received many compliments on these. Excellent shoe! Zappos did great as usual also.
