We hike often in the Shenandoah mountains, and these shoes are terrific for day hikes. Lookswise, the grey color is cool, and the shoe has a smaller profile than typical hiking shoes, which can be so clunky. I like the smaller shoe, but that is definitely a matter of personal taste. The shoes are nice and light and handle rocky paths well. I have hiked/run up to 6 miles in them and they are great. I would not recommend them for serious mountain climbing or as shoes for multi-day hikes since you will need something more supportive, but they are great dayhike/trail run shoes and they are comfortable to wear off the trail as well.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: ASICS is popular in our house; for other dayhike/trail runnning needs, try Montrail.

I love Asics, they will always be my first choice for running. These shoes were comfortable right out of the box. I put alot of miles on my running shoes and asics always hold up well. I got these on a Weds. wore them a few times to break them in and run a half marathon that sunday, no pains or blisters.

I love these sneakers! They are my second pair. I have narrow feet and these hug my foot. Very comfortable. Asics are the best fitting shoe out there. I also love the color, very sassy!

Great Shoe!
This shoe has good arch support, excellent traction and I am not able to feel the rocks as I am running through canyons!

Third Pair of Gel-Trabuco!
I am a very picky athletic shoe shopper. I happened to buy my first pair of Asics Trabuco three years ago. It was love at first try on so to speak. I just bought my third pair of this model. My second pair from Zappos.
When it came to replacing that first pair I tried on many different running shoes (even other Asics models) but could not find any that had the fit and comfort like the Trabucos. I could not find this model in the stores. I also noticed that even my poor old worn out pair of Trabucos was still padded better than the new ones I was trying on. So, I came to Zappos bought this style in yellow last year now I am here again this year to buy the paprika colored.
I buy a 1/2 size larger than my normal because they fit correctly and I can add extra arch support.
Thanks Zappos for carrying this wonderful shoe! I hope that Asics does not stop making this model.

Lightweight, but could use more arch support -
I love the color and the look. They are very light weight. But I have low arches and I could use a little more arch support. Of course it took a while to figure that out so I am keeping them anyway!

PERFECT SHOES Gel-Trabuco 11 WR -
These shoes are wonderful. I've been an ASICS fan for the last few years/pairs of gym shoes. I have flat (fallen) arches and pronate, and these feel great. It only took a couple visits to the gym (elliptical & weight machines are my thing) to break them in. I love the arch support. I ordered 7 pairs of shoes including Merrill and Nike and still went back to my old reliable fail-proof Asics. And they look great, I even had an older gentleman tell me my shoes were cool! I was going to write that I did decide on the pair that was 1/2 size larger than normal, but as I seem to get older (and my feel flatter?) I've gone up 1/2 size or so on most of my shoes.

Got this in the grey and green version and I love it. I recently found out that I am an over-pronator so after much research, I decided to get these and they have been great. I use them to work out in the gym and treadmill. I got a half size bigger and it fits perfectly although it is more comfortable w/ thinner socks. It is a very "structured" shoe in that the fit kinda reminds me of hiking boots (can be worn for outdoor activity). It gives me solid footing so it helps when I'm running.

I usually order the Gel Kayano 13 or 14 because of the comfort. I was afraid a trail shoe - even though I trail run - would not be as comfortable. I was wrong. This shoe is super comfortable and wears well. I highly recommend. Like all my running shoes, I order 1/2 size larger. This shoe is no different.

Did not work for me!
After reading all the reviews on these shoes, I confidently ordered a pair in a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear. They were too long, yet tight around the top of my foot. I guess these just weren't "made for me"!

The right shoe!
I ordered these shoes for exercise purposes. They're light weight, but have great support! Easy to lace up and they stay tied without double knots!

I use this shoe for everything from gym workouts to walking in the neighborhood to hiking. I have high rigid arches and pronate and a few other foot problems so I have orthotics that have to be accommodated, which this shoe does well. I do have to get a half size larger for the orthotics. This is the second pair I've owned. I got the grey w/lime color so it's a little more subtle than the paprika. It's one of the better looking running shoes out there, unless you happen to like shiny pink plastic!

New Sneaks -
I really like this shoe. It was time to replace my old running sneakers, so I called my sister who is a marathon runner and asked her what brands she would suggest for a mom-of-three periodic runner such as myself. She suggested Asics, so chose this one from the previous reviews. I am so not subtle, so the salmon color was an awesome choice, however, I do not see it as extremely bright or obnoxious. My sister also suggested buying a half size larger than you would normally wear due to your feet swelling when running, so I purchased the 7 1/2 vs. my usual 7, and they are working out great. Not too big or sloshy, but just enough room to be comfortable when I have been running for a while. It usually takes my feet a couple of runs to adjust to how tight the lacing should be, etc. and this shoe was no exception. Double knotting is a must as the round laces come undone very easily. Overall, I am very satisfied with my new colorful choice of running shoes and would suggest them to anyone in the market for a runner with good support and cushion.

Darling shoe, even has a little support. RUNS SMALL!! One other review says half size - I say a whole one. I ordered a "9" and got a 39. 9.5 equal a 39.5, so I am ordering a 40.

Very comfortable. The laces seem to tie tight around the top of foot (a little bothersome and have come untied). Asics are always the best sneaker. This one is a little more bulky than all my other trail sneakers. I am glad to keep it as an extra lower mileage shoe.

I think the shoes are probably more expensive than what they are worth, but I love the color and they are comfortable. I use custom orthotics and they fit fine in the shoe. I have received a lot of compliments on the fun color.

Fit like a glove -
I use these as a lightweight trail hiker. They felt like a second skin the moment I tried them on. The heel doesn't flare out in a giant wedge like other trail runners and that's better for not catching them on rocks and tripping. There's enough resilience in the sole for rough terrain, although after a few miles, the bottom of my feet can feel the terrain on the downhills. They look good, too.
