I discovered a year ago that I've been wearing the wrong shoes for years. I'm flat-footed and have a nearly non-existent arch, so I need "stability" or "motion control" shoes. These shoes were recommended as such in a fitness magazine, so I took a chance on them. They run true to size, but are a little on the snug side. This wasn't a problem for me, though, as I found the "hugginess" of the shoe to be comfortable. The arch support was just what my foot type needed. The problem, however, is with another area of the shoe. Just below the shoelaces there is some decorative trim in a darker green color. This is somewhat inflexible and would dig into the top of my foot with every step. I'm not sure if this is due to me having longer toes than the average person (thus why I need to go up a 1/2 size in shoes), but where a shoe normally bends as you walk. This decorative trim hit that bend and didn't bend enough - just a bit too stiff and I found it uncomfortable. After a couple days of walking around the house, it became clear that it wasn't going to soften up, and so I had no choice but to return them. A shame too because I loved everything else about this shoe. Great choice if you have normal length toes and a flat arch!

Great walking shoe!
I am a big fan of Merrell shoes and this one is no exception. I bought the blue/black one and the look is great and they are super comfortable. A great city walking shoe; they are lightweight and breathe very well. I am so happy with them!

Perfect for me - My second pair. Works well with my orthotics. Great look for work where I stand all day and can't wear white athletic shoes. Glad Zappos had them when the shoe store didn't!

Merrell's Siren Ventilator -
I love the look of these shoes. I had to go a half size larger than normal. I purchased 2 sizes and my daughter ended up keeping the second pair. We've both noticed that our toes fall asleep when walking in them, but hopefully that will not continue to happen once we break them in. I was very impressed with Zappos customer service and will definitely continue to use them.

Just perfect - I was searching for a comfortable, attractive, not-white shoe. These are perfect. My job requires me to be on my feet for hours at a time. I need comfy, supportive shoes. These shoes are lightweight, extremely comfortable, and most important, good looking.

Looks are sometimes deceiving!
These shoes look snappy as anything, but for long distances, they are not so comfy. Orthodics take up too much space.

Merrell's Siren Ventilator is one of my favorite shoes ever. Extremely comfortable and attractive in style. They are light on the feet yet supportive and I can enjoy them for all day, all around activities.

Best walking shoes ever!
This is a fantastic walking shoe. The literature said that it was designed for a woman's anatomy. This is the first time I've been able to do fitness walking with no hip pain and no twisted ankles. My walking partner (large yellow lab) no longer has to wait for me. So, Merrell did everything right on this shoe. Yes, I said that the shoe felt 1/2 size smaller than my normal size 8. However, I've had no blisters, no rubbing and no break in. The size really is perfect, it molds around my feet providing excellent support. The fit is just different. In fact my left foot is actually becoming straighter and more flexible since I began wearing these shoes. Another plus, no more nocturnal foot cramps. I think I'm in love!

Just what I was looking for.
I love these sneakers. Without a doubt the most comfortable I've ever owned. Not all that thick padding inside that makes other brands feel tight. Cool temperature-wise, and just plain cool. I ordered a 6 even though I wear a 5 1/2, because most sneaks run small. I could have ordered my true size.

Very satisfied and walking easier.
I am overweight and very flat footed and have problems with my ankles turning in. These shoes give me the support plus comfort to be able to walk much better and feel secure doing so. I would definitely recommend them and will order a second pair in the future.

Great shoe for walking -
I bought these shoes to wear during an 8 day trip to Europe that involved a lot of walking. My feet got a little sore - but I think that would have happened with any shoe. Overall, they were comfortable and have good ventilation.

I wear a true size 9 and found these shoes to be a perfect fit. there is room to replace the insert. There is no break-in time, wearable right out of the box. I purchased the tan version elsewhere; the fit is not the same, I expect due to the different materials. I also have the lime green version; same excellent fit as the blue ones. I highly recommend this shoe.

Merrell are the best -
This order was hard for me to place...because Zappos has such a terrific variety. I stuck with Merrell because I have two other pair that are perfect in every way...the Merrell Siren Ventilator met my high footwear standards....Zappos had them at the front door in one day...and I would recommend Zappos to everyone for quality products and service.
