This shoe is very generous in sizing. My very first time wearing it was doing a little hiking in Yosemite and encountered no problems at all with what should have been a wearing in phase.

I love these shoes/sneakers! The toe box is roomy, there is no break in time needed and I love the color. I don\'t even need my orthotics with these they are so comfortable.\r\n\r\n

I love these shoes. They are perfect for my feet. They tend to run wide and on the big side. I am normally like an 7.5 or an 8 depending on the width. But these are great they are the most comfortable shoes I have. They really work to help you walk more straight by design and you can feel the difference.

Great shoes. True to size, and I like the way they look. Good for walking long distances and being on your feet. I have a great deal of pain in my feet and these shoes did not make it worse; and that is significant for me.

I went a half size up, fit perfectly. I have tendinitis and some other feet issues and these were recommended by a friend. I think they are great. The only change I made was to replace the insert with one with a bigger arch, other than that they work great and are super comfortable.

I ordered these shoes yesterday afternoon, received them this morning (thanks to the Zappos-magic!) put them on and haven\'t taken them off since. I was a little apprehensive about ordering shoes online since I have wide feet and never know if a regular-width shoe is going to fit me or not. However, these Merrells were not only true to size but just the right width! There was no breaking-in period and they seem like a great walking/light hiking shoe!

Review from Iraq: I was issued $200 combat boots and ended up wearing (and ruining) my expensive running shoes. I ordered these and they are all that I have worn since I took them out of the box. They are great for the dirt, rocks and walking that we do so much of around here. If they can stand up in Iraq, they can go anywhere!

I have had Merrells before and they are very comfortable shoes! I had never used Zappos before, but had heard others rave about them! I was in the market for some new walking shoes. I had read some other reviews about sizing and all, but I've always been a size 10; never bigger. I decided to order these in a 10 and boy was I glad I stuck to my regular size. These shoes did not disappoint me! And I love Zappos free shipping! Great shoes, great company!

After ordering and rejecting 12 other brands and styles, these were the winners for my European vacation. The Toes seemed roomy, breathable mesh for hot days seemed a plus. There is also good shock absorption. However, there is some weird non-quite-right arch support that hits below my actual arch (toward my heel) that hurt me so badly they did not come out of my suitcase again.

This is an unbelievable shoe! I have had mine for three years, and they are still going. I am just buying another pair because I feel I want more Merrells. The shoe is waterproof, rugged, comfortable and stylish. I would never buy another kind of hiking and/or walking shoe. Zappos is a great store to order them from.

These are the most comfortable athletic shoes I have ever purchased. They have great support, and feel like I\'ve had them forever right from the get go. Would purchase a second pair for sure. Also, Zappos is so easy to use, and the products are outstanding.

Hiked half dome for the first time this summer and bought these shoes based on a recommendation. Loved them! They didn't even need to broken in. I should state that I usually fit a women's size 6.5 and, depending on the brand, a size 7. I ordered these Merrells as a size 7 and they fit great, especially with my hiking socks. I highly recommend these shoes for day hikes; however, for rocky terrains maybe purchase midcut shoes or boots for more ankle support.

Wore these on vacation without breaking them in first. We did a lot of walking. Very comfortable! I did replace the insoles with gel insoles and have not tried the ones that came with the shoes.

These shoes are fabulous -- very comfortable and practical. Bought them for hiking through brush, but are good for most anything. Zappos had a good selection of Merrells (exactly what I was looking for) and provided great service.

I have become a big fan of Merrell shoes because they last a long time, they are true to size, and have great support. That being said I must say that these have been the most comfortable Merrells I have ever owned!
Other brands recommended by reviewer: Merrells are the way to go. My family, including my children, only wear Merrells.

I bought these shoes for summer vacationing, and wore them to Disney World, FL and to Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. They have become my new everyday favorites! They cradle and protect my painful heels, even when I have to walk several miles up and down hills. No shoes can completely keep my feet from hurting after 8 hours of walking and standing, but these shoes have definitely been able to prolong my time on my feet and ease my pain. I highly recommend these Merrells!
Other brands recommended by reviewer: If you have chronic foot pain of any kind, only wear Merrell.

Love this shoe - very high quality, great for trail walking. I got and love the Violet one - very sharp looking. It definitely runs a size small (as I believe all Merrells do) so make sure you order a size up from your normal. I wear a 10 and there's no such thing as a 10.5, so I got the 11 and it fits fine.

Great shoes -
I bought these for an upcoming trip to Yellowstone. Tried them out for a day at Disneyland and they were fantastic. Very comfortable. Normally when I am standing around or walking around for many hours at a time, my lower back will hurt and I'll have to take breaks and sit down, but not once during the day did I feel any back pain or have to stop and rest. Great shoes make a huge difference. I love these shoes! Bought a pair of the men's version for my teenage son and he loves his also.

I ordered several pairs of Merrells to replace my old beloved hikers to wear on our fourteeners. Since I normally wear a ladies 4/4.5, Merrell size 5 actually works for me. I just can't find them in stores, so THANK YOU ZAPPOS!!! I thought these were very comfortable and super lightweight. I ended up keeping a different pair of Merrells though b/c this style was slightly too wide for me. Probably a good fit for those w/wider feet.

I love these shoes! I work outside all day and these are the most comfortable shoes I've worn. The first pair I bought were exposed to rain, snow, mud, and salt and lasted for almost two years-a record for my work shoes. I would definitely buy again. Zappos buying experience was A+.

These are terrific shoes! Very sturdy, but also lightweight and breathable. They also have a reasonably wide toe box, which is a major plus for me. I wore them basically every day for a year, including lots of hikes, and they held up great. I replaced them with another pair.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I am an RN and spend a lot of time on my feet. These shoes keep my feet cool and pain free even on long 12 hour shifts. The last pair I purchased, I wore everyday for 2 years and they are still holding up. I like them so much, I ordered another pair in a different color and convinced my Mother to buy a pair.
