I am familiar with the stride rite shoes and they fit my kids. It is hard to find xw shoes for kids, and Stride Rite has them. Too bad my son is almost outgrown the sizes that they make. I haven't had a bad shoe yet.

Shoes that come in extra wide widths are hard to find. My 10 year old says they are comfortable, but not very stylish.

Perfect for boy with wide feet who can't tie laces yet -
My son is developmentally delayed and can't tie shoelaces yet, so I appreciate that they make this velcro shoe look fairly grown-up. He has really wide feet, too, so I love that Stride Rite makes this in a wide. He had the same style before and they held up quite well.
Other shoes recommended by reviewer: New Balance--the only other wide sneakers I've found for kids

Seven-year-old's opinion -
My son says that he's not crazy about wearing velcro shoes anymore--he's in second grade--but that these shoes are really comfortable. Since he wears a wide, we were pretty limited on style. Mom thinks they are well made sneakers, though, and seem to support this very active boy!

The shoe fits well, ordered wide and it is true to size. Quality is good, met my expectations. My son loves how the shoe looks and feels. Definitely recommend.

This is a nice looking well made shoe. It's suitable for either an elementary school age child or a preschooler. I'm happy to find a good overall sneaker in a wide width that is made well. The price is attractive too. And of course Zappos always provides the best service.

An excellent shoe for an active child for the price!
My son loves this shoe; so much that I have purchased it a few times and in different colors when available. It's sturdy and cleans very well with a little warm water and the Velcro straps were designed well enough that they don't get caught on clothing like other styles we've had.
My son runs a lot and seems to be quite comfortable in it. I think he is getting better than average support in his knees, but maybe not as much as a runner sneaker. It runs a little larger than marked but NOT a half size.
It's an excellent shoe for the price!

My son’s new shoes -
I just wanted to take a minute to say how much I love ordering shoes from Zappos. Every time I place an order I receive the shoes in record time. The selection is great, plus the prices are reasonable.
So far with my Zappos experience, I have had to return 2 items. The first return I received credit in no time. I have returned 1 of the pair of Stride Rite recently and am awaiting my credit but have complete confidence I will see a credit in a day or two.
I love shopping with Zappos.

I strive to go over and beyond the duty of my job to give outstanding customer service. The only problem is that nowadays it's hard for me to go shopping anywhere and receive the same. That changed when I ordered
from your website Zappos.com. I opted for the free shipping and I received an email telling me my order would be changed to overnight. I
