Good, but...
Very comfortable shoe. I use it to pound pavement and treadmills at the gym and it hadn't made my already bad knees worse off. Glad I have them. The stitching did come loose on in one area, but I could fix that myself. Although it is a bit disappointing considering New Balance normally high quality build.

Needs better forefoot cushioning -
I like this shoe but it needs a more rigid & better cushioning section at the forefoot. Forefoot sole contains deep grooves and is less rigid than most running shoes. Thumb pressure here results in noticeable penetration. As a result, I experienced slight burning from ball of foot sideways to little toe. Wider ankle than most shoes. I can pull off the shoe w/o un- tying the laces. Despite this, no blisters anywhere. Ideal arch support for me - moderate. I run 4.67 days/week.

Superb cushioned comfort -
I have the predecessor of this model, the 1060, which is the most comfortable shoe I own. I bought the 1061 because the older model was discontinued. I wasn't disappointed! The same fantastic padded support, plus the 1061s are slightly more stylish. The other New Balance shoe I own is the classic 992. I find the 1061 even more comfortable. I don't run, but I walk a lot and these shoes are the business. This comment comes from someone who spends loads on walking shoes, Mephisto, Merrell, Rockport,etc. The 1061 outshines them all for sheer comfort, support, and their lightweight.
