Customizable fit only good in concern for the toe box area. The heel was way to wide, thick socks couldn\'t help. Looked prettier online than in person. I\'m sending them back, but I love Zappos!

Ouch -
I bought these shoes cause I needed something that would stand up to the abuses of working in the kitchen. The shoe has fared well, but my feet have taken some brutal abuse from this shoe. I've never had my feet hurt so badly at the end of the day before. I've even added insoles to the shoe but nothing helps. If you are on your feet for over 8 hours a day, don't get this shoe. (I'm on mine 10-12)

Watch out for size -
These shoes are well-made, waterproof, and comfortably padded. Because of the Timberland Precise Fit system, each size of these shoes actually spans both the size and the next half-size up (e.g., a size 7 is actually 7-7.5). Something to be aware of if you're borderline in size -- as a 6.5-7, I found that the 7 was definitely too big. Another thing to note: the leather has a surprisingly matte appearance, maybe because it's oiled. I returned these because of the size issue but would definitely have kept them otherwise.

Good Shoe -
I just received my shoes and have had them for about a week now. I think this is a really great show for the hospitality industry. It’s comfortable and can be worn with casual business clothes. The only thing is it needs a little more padding if you are a person who is on your feet for 11hr days.

The heel is a little big on these shoes and the material in the back of the heel causes your socks to end up in the shoe. Other than that, it's a nice shoe and comfortable.

 |  | Didn’t know where to send a note to the full staff so I’m putting it here. I haven’t shopped Zappos for a few years (how many Birkies can one gal wear at a time)! I’ve hunted and hunted for boots. Not much call for tall boots in the Phoenix area, but the styles changed this year so I wanted to get with it. I hate going to stores so I tried the internet, thought I found gold, but ended up returning because they were too loose or too tall or too short. The light bulb went off and I came back to Zappos and they had calf and height measurements listed - what a brilliant idea!!! I found black suede and grey leather and I had them at my front door a day later! How much better could it get: both pairs fit!!! Please post this for all employees so they can know their efforts are very much appreciated... you all could teach the rest of the corporate world how it should be done.
