Warm, 100% waterproof, and long enough to walk through deep snow. I had a hard time finding boots that had these characteristics that weren't too practical-looking. These boots still look a little practical, but they are SO warm and dry that it's a happy compromise. (The packaging recommends these boots for temperatures as cold as -25F; I've worn them in -15F and still felt comfortable in my toes after 30 minutes.) My feet and legs tend to get chilled easily, so I like the long shaft, however, even for me, the boots can be too warm if worn for longer than a half-hour indoors, or in 30F outdoors. One thing to note, I bought these a little larger (size 8), thinking I would be wearing thick socks with these in extreme cold, but they are TOO warm for thick socks, even in -15F! Also, they run slightly large. I wear a 7.5 or an 8, but the size 8 is a little loose all over; I wish I had gone with a 7.5, that's my only regret.

Winter Kicks -
I love the way the Spyder's shoes look, they re loud but stylish. My only complaint is the lack of arch support. However, for walking around the city in winter conditions, they will be perfect, as they are extremely warm. Yeah!

Super Boot -
I love these boots. I bought them for a ski trip and was tired of my feet being cold and always slipping on ice. These were the best in terms of look, keeping the cold out and when I walked on ice, they were perfect. The only thing that I had a hard time with when I first put them on was getting my foot into them. I have pretty narrow feet, but these don't expand a lot to get your foot in the boot. After a cold day on the slopes and trying to pull them on proved challenging. After day three it became easier. I still love them and would recommend them to everyone.

I want to thank you for the great service and selection I receive from Zappos. It was very hard to shop for my brother-in-law because, his feet swell very badly. He wears 12 1/2 6E.
