I like the unit. The speech is very clear, with a choice of voices. Instructions give you 800 yards; 400 yard warning to a turn and then says to turn. It doesn't say it's recalculating, like the Garmin, but you can tell it is by the change of map. I found the re-cal-cu-lating jargon tiresome, anyway. You have to get used to how they tell you a turn is coming up but that's a trifle. The cup has great suction. It also has a sticky pad but I didn't feel it was needed. The unit pulls out of the holder very easily so you can pop it into your purse on a hot day. Leaving the holder attached to the windshield.
