This is a sturdy well-constructed shoe with a classic-casual look to wear with jeans or skirts. I wear a small shoe and was pleased to find my size in this style. My complaints are the stiffness and placement of the ankle strap which continues to be uncomfortable, even after a month of wear and the narrowness of the shoe at the toe.

Great looking shoe -
This shoe looks great and was plenty wide for my extra wide foot. Sorry to say, I forgot as I got older that my ankles swell and it did not look pretty with a dress for mother of bride. I like the shoe, am keeping it for pants or a long skirt. Very happy with the shoe, not with my fat ankle.

Great new sandal!
I had worn Josef Seibel shoes many years ago but had not purchased any until I bought the Adelle sandal in black. It is pure comfort and not as clunky as other comfort shoes. It looks good with both dresses and pants and is turning into my go to shoe!

Asia & back -
Fabulous feel + easy-off for temples, Wats, etc. These shoes made walking in Thailand, Cambodia, Japan, and China ever-so-much more comfy. Still going great two years later, but I had to check and see if I could find another pair. Glad to see they are still available, but wish I could find some of the colors listed in other reviews.

Adele is very comfortable -
I got these shoes to have when the older ones wear out. They are very comfortable and when I find one I put one away so I have it. Even if it is not still made.

Best Walking Shoe -
My grown daughter and I were on vacation in Hawaii. When she started complaining about her feet hurting from an uncomfortable pair of shoes, I told her to borrow my Josef Seibel Adelle shoes. She loved them. When I got home, I checked Zappos to see if they were still available. I saw that they were and ordered a pair to be shipped to my daughter. Now, we both have the comfort of this shoe. I hope they continue to make these. They are great. The velcro strips lets any width foot fit perfectly.

Great Sandal!
This is my second pair of Adelles. I've had the red ones for three years and they are still very comfortable and still look nice. Now I bought the Buttero Cashmere (tan) and they are just as great. I have many problems with my feet, but these sandals have the support and adjustable comfort straps that make them easy to wear all day for sightseeing or shopping.

Comfortable sandals -
I have Adelle’s in brown and black and wear them most of the time, with and without socks. They are adjustable to my very slender feet. Since I have very flat feet, I easily slip arch supports in when my feet are tired.

Wonderful, comfortable shoes!
I bought these sandals for a trip to Australia and New Zealand and they were absolutely wonderful! They fit well and true to size and they look great and feel great. I wore them for city walking and to dress up a bit for dinner, I wore them with skirts. I highly recommend them.

I didn't wear my Dansko sandals once after purchasing the JS Adelle. They are serious comfort, and surprisingly better looking in person because let's face it- they kind of look like nun sandals.

Comfort for dainty older feet.
Hi - I was so glad to get these wonderful J.S. Adelle models. I bought black, butter and a light blue. The velcro is a welcomed aspect to this sandal allowing the toe box to adjust for older toe discomfort and swelling. Size 6 med. is a popular size and the red shoes were sold out...sadly. Love in the Ruins -
I am on my second pair of these sandals. The first pair went all over Greece and Italy, in and out of ruins and went with everything! They are amazingly comfortable and look great with skirts or pants. The velcro also allows you to adjust the width if your feet get tired.

Favorite shoe of all time -
I never spend a lot of money for shoes. I purchased a pair of J.S. shoes for a cruise. They were actually too high up on my foot and were not real comfortable. I traded them for this one and I have worn them almost every day. Winter and summer both. The velcro won't hold any more and I still won't give them up. I have to break down and buy another pair. They have gone up. I only spent $90...They are great.

Great Comfort -
I chose the black Adelle's and I love them. They look better on than online. They are extremely comfortable and true to size. The velcro closings at the front of the shoe and the ankle make it very adjustable.
I got these to go on a trip to Las Vegas. I'm glad I had them since I did LOTS of walking.
This is my second pair of Josef Seibel's and I think they are some of the most wearable shoes I've ever owned.

Best sandal I've ever worn.
This is the most money I've ever spent on a shoe but boy are they worth it. My heels were torn up from wearing "bargain" shoes (but were all nationally recognized brand names). These Josef Seibel shoes have made a loyal customer of me. No more cheap shoes for my tired (wide) feet. I'm sure they will last a long time too. Now I have another excuse to go to Europe (duty free perfume and Josef Seibel shoes).

The ONLY shoe -
While in Mexico, walking for hours on cobblestone and uneven pavement, these shoes are both comfortable and look great with everything from jeans to skirts.

Color of sole -
I wish they would change back to the black sole on the tan sandal! If something isn't broken, please don't try to fix it!
I am still wearing the original tan sandal with the black sole - this is the third summer for them, and they are looking a little sad. I'm hoping that by next summer they will realize the error of their ways and go back to the black sole!
This sandal is outstanding in comfort!

A dream of a shoe -
Three years ago, I was planning a trip to Chicago and needed a go-with-anything sandal that would keep me comfortable while walking miles on cement streets. I had surgery on my left foot ten years ago, so it's not exactly the same, size-wise, as the right. After a consultation with a salesman at Nordstrom's he brought out my first pair of Josef Seibel's. Be still my heart! Totally adjustable with velcro, hand stitched workmanship, top quality leather, and even though they look flat, there's good arch support. I wore them constantly through three seasons a year, until finally the stitching on one side pulled out. My husband said "check out Zappos" and yippee I found this exact match. These are even prettier than my last pair, which was plain. These have lovely embroidered stitching. I bought mine in a gorgeous caramel color that goes with everything. People actually come up to me and ask, "Who makes those shoes?" In my opinion, you can't get a better fitting, more attractive sandal than this. I hope they make them forever!

Very nice sandals -
Very attractive sandals. Comfort is good but not quite as good as Ecco, my old standby when it comes to comfy sandals. It's just that the leather strap across the toes is a little stiff. I'm confident that they will be A-ok as soon as I've worn them a little more. I do have to admit that the quality of the materials seems higher than Ecco, which often don't last me more than a year or two.

Not Exactly Leah -
I think this shoe is based on Seibel's previous model, Leah, if I'm not mistaken. I wore that shoe for about 4 or 5 years because it was one of the most comfortable shoes in my closet. This one feels stiffer and seems to have less cushioning in the sole. It could be, however, that I just have to wear them in. Hard to do a review so early.

This shoe is almost perfect. I would prefer a strap on the shoe instead of velcro around the ankle. They feel great and I have them in several colors.

Disappointed -
I could hardly wait to get these, as they looked like they'd provide a bit more style with their top stitching than is usually seen in this type of sandal.
The top stitching *did* look nice. However, they were very uncomfortable to me. The sharp edges of the leather straps would have given me blisters in many spots, if I'd kept them. The bottom was nicely padded and the straps did seem to keep my foot stable. If only the straps were comfortable...

 |  | It all started a month ago when I went to Las Vegas with my girl friends. We were shopping, gambling, and having a great time. We walked through the mall there on the way to the train. I saw the cutest shoes in the window and went in. I loved them, bought them and wished I had waited so I didn't have to carry them all day but, Oh Well. Then it was the last day and we were at the airport and my friends were going to a different terminal so we were killing time before our planes left and there at the airport in the window were the shoes I had just bought days before, on sale. Upset, I went in the store and found another pair I really liked so I bought them. I had to leave the box behind because it wouldn't fit in my carry on. Anyway, last Wednesday I wore the first pair to work. It was the first time I had worn them so I took another pair of shoes just in case I got blisters or they hurt my feet (that wasn't necessary!). So I have to tell you that I am a big woman. I had just bought a cute dress (as cute as you can get in my size) and my new black ONEX shoes. To my surprise EVERYONE told me how nice I looked. I am a secretary at an elementary school. I was getting some folders for one of our teachers and she was behind me and she said, "De, you look sexy." Well I almost fell over. No one (except my husband and he has to) has ever in my life told me that. Me...sexy? I was so shocked. I decided it had to be the shoes because they made me feel good and they were soooo comfortable and soooo cute. OK, so all day I kept telling everyone that I bought them in Las Vegas and they had to try them on because they wouldn't believe how comfortable they were. My assistant principal went home and looked them up online. So did I because I wanted to know if anyone in Albuquerque sold them. That's when I found your web site. So I looked at everything and decided to order another pair. I made a favorite list and filled out the information. I am old school and I don't order online so I wrote down the phone # and called. Still unsure about ordering I spoke to a fabulous woman, she was funny and helpful and told me about 6pm.com. I wanted to see if there was something else I might want so I told her I would call back. I didn't find anything. When I called back I got another wonderful woman but she couldn't find the # of the shoes I wanted so I went back online to get the #. Then when I called last night at 7:30ish I talked to someone else. I ordered the shoes and he told me he would send them next day air at no charge. Well you could have knocked me over with a feather (not an easy task!), so I told him if he was going to do that I would order two pair. I did. Today when I got home at 4:30 there on my doorstep were my ONYX shoes. What, are you guys trying to give a heart attack? NEVER in my 51 years on this Earth have I ever dealt with such customer service. WOW! I called a co-worker to tell her what happened and she asked if I minded if she bought a pair. She has already called by now. Anyway I have to tell you and everyone else what a fabulous company you guys run and I can't wait to have a closer look online to order more shoes. I am a shopaholic.
