These may very well be the PERFECT shoe! I had a pair of Gizeh's years ago and wore them so much they fell apart. I forgot how comfortable and stylish they are on my feet. They go with jeans, shorts or dresses and the black patent give your look a little edge. These sandals are more comfortable than my sneakers. They do run big, though. I ordered a size down. If you want style molded to your foot, buy these shoes!

Classy sandal! The black patent makes the "homely" base of this shoe fashionably acceptable. It’s VERY comfortable once you wear them around the house for two days. It conforms to the shape of your foot. Magic. The straps are smartly placed so there isn’t any fumbling with trying to keep them on. I can run with these shoes! I am between sizes - I am able to wear sizes 6 through 7. So I ordered the 37 Narrow. Perfect fit.

I bought these for my sister-in-law who normally wears a size 8 1/2. They were a little narrow so she made an extra hole in the belt, which expanded it a bit. She loves them and wears them constantly. I bought the same pair in a size 36, which corresponds to a size 5 1/2. I wear a 6 1/2 normally, so I was surprised that they fit, but they do. I love these shoes and wear them almost everyday. They are a little awkward initially, but now I can't wear flip flops because they hurt my feet compared to these. They are awesome shoes and so adorable. Zappos is the best when it comes to returns and ordering.

This shoe is terrific! I normally wear a 7 in sandals, but went down a 1/2 size to the 37. I had always heard Birkenstocks were comfortable and wow are they. These shoes do have to be broken in. I actually found them uncomfortable until they molded to my feet. They are stylish day shoes and I can run around the city all day without my feet hurting a bit!

Birkenstock Gizeh-Great!
I love this shoe. I have two other pair in leather, but wanted this in patent leather. I can walk all day in this shoe and my feet feel great. I had foot surgery on both feet and can't wear a lot of the shoes that are out there. Birkenstock shoes are the best for me and the most comfortable. I love the new styles that have come out.

I absolutly LOVE these shoes. The comfort is amazing-just like any Birkenstock. The patent leather is just enough to dress them up a bit. I am going to buy a few more pairs!

Great non-hippie looking shoe -
I love the shoe! I wear Birkenstocks because I am on my feet all day and love the support they offer. This is a great style because it looks a lot less hippie than their very traditional styles!

Gizeh sandal, nice -
I just got these and realized within minutes that they would need some breaking in as there is a lot of give and take that need to go on between your toes. Overall, I loved the way they looked and the sizing is indeed large, so go a number lower than you would normally as I did and was happy with the way they fit. I would recommend these to someone who is looking for a comfortable Birk, that has a little more style. I got them for myself for pregnancy as my feet tend to swell and these will be cute but accommodating.

Comfort over looks, but the most feminine of the Birks -
I wanted a comfy sandal for my trip to Florida, ordered these Monday, had them on my doorstep Tuesday in time for my trip Wednesday. Zappos always ships next day and this is reason enough to buy all my shoes here. These are my second pair of Birks, they are comfortable and the black patent makes them the most feminine style I've seen. I am usually a 7.5-8 and ordered the 38 which is 7-7.5 with perfect fit.

Love this shoe in black patent. Only takes one day to break in before becoming the most comfortable shoe you own. Too bad winter is coming - wish I could wear year round.

Great sandal!
I wanted something that was stylish and comfortable and this sandal is both. I have high arches and have normal width feet so I went with the regular width and it was perfect. There is some breaking in (as with all Birks) but it only took a few days and now they're perfect. The golden brown has some bronze tones to it but isn't overly shiny and goes great with shorts and skirts and the synthetic fabric looks good too.

Good looking and comfortable -
I have always been a fan of Birkenstocks, but it is hard to find ones that look good too. The Gizeh model is very cute, and in the golden brown (with gold overtones), it is really stylish. I am living in these shoes.

Affordable sandals, great look -
I have had my eye on these for quite a while and saw that this price is definitely doable. I saw so many people wearing these in Spain a few years ago but could afford them then, and now for this price I am psyched. They fit well; the narrow width is fine even for my oddly shaped feet. I wear an 8.5 reg in American sizes although one foot is wider than the other, this size is fine.
Like other reviewers said that the shininess of Birko-Flor was risky for them, but if you get it in the olive green it doesn’t look cheesy and isn’t too much. Also, they are stylish enough that they don’t scream hippie :) either. Enjoy!

Great sandal. Extremely comfortable. Tons of Compliments. I usually wear a 8.5 but after reading previous reviews, I purchased a 38 (7-7.5) and it fits perfect. Highly recommended!

A Little Disappointed -
I love the look of the shoe. I've worn for about 3 weeks. I tried to shop in them. Big mistake!! They still are not very comfortable. I can tolerate the hardness of the footbed, but the toe piece is very hard and really hurts for walking a lot. I really like the look, so I will continue to wear when comfort is not an issue, for fashions sake. I have a narrow foot, so this style (without straps) works well for me. I got the narrow, but as stated by Birkenstock, was a medium width. In the stores all I could find was Medium which of course is a wide width, as stated by Birkenstock.

Attractive and comfortable. I was concerned about the color, but it is a lovely, neutral shade of golden brown--not too metallic, and looks like fine-quality leather even though it's Birko-Flor.

I like these -
I wear a 9 medium and ordered a 40 narrow which fits fine. A little breaking in is required and I'm hoping the thong softens up a bit, but the support is worth any discomfort from the thong. Looks so much better than most "arch support" shoes. I'm hoping they get it in black!

Cute and comfortable -
I never thought I'd give in so completely to what I always considered to be a hippie shoe, but there it is. I have the Gizeh style in three different colors--in black patent, golden brown, and silver--and they are my summer staple. These look great with pants or skirts, and you can walk for miles in them (I bought my first pair in Paris, which I walked from end to end, and they saved my feet). I can't say enough nice things about his shoe--if you're on the fence, go for it; you won't regret it. Trust.

I have such high arches that almost all shoes begin to make my feet hurt due to the lack of arch support. Last summer I backpacked Europe and wore these shoes every single day for over a month. My feet never hurt (aside from the blister I got on the bottom of my foot while breaking them in) and the shoe conformed to my arch wonderfully. I highly recommend Birkenstocks to anyone with high arches. Keep in mind that Birkenstocks tend to run a bit large when ordering - I am a true 11 but I always purchase a 10.5 from Birkenstock.

LOVE THESE!
These are the BEST sandals. I have very high arches and am a very active person (I love to walk, ride my bike) and I don't like when uncomfortable shoes get in my way. These are FANTASTIC. They take a little to break in (2 weeks or so of a little walking every day), but once they're broken in, they fit like a glove. The sole starts out very hard and stiff but don't give up on them!-they become super soft and supportive after some wear. The sole molds to your foot, so they're extra comfortable. Also, I think Gizeh is the most flattering Birkenstock model for a wide foot. Also check out Papillio-Birkenstocks. They make the tops in funky/fun patterns.

Love these! Comfortable; took me about a few days to break in, but love them to death! Looks good with everything! I usually wear a woman’s 7, but heard Birks ran a lil big, so took the chance and got a 6 1/2, and fits like a glove!

Fantastic Sandal -
I'm very happy with this purchase. Was looking for a comfortable sandal that could withstand a lot of walking, but stylish enough to see me through various environments. Perfect for travel, and the black patent makes them not too crunchy granola.

Cute and versatile -
I bought these in black patent and they look great with modern outfits in the summer. They are not comfortable like slippers or flip flops, but more of a sturdy and healthy alternative. They definitely perform like a Birk for arch support and exercise and your feet/legs will need to get used to them. Birks run big, so I am a true 6.5 and wear a 36 in Birks for the perfect fit. The regular width Birk is a wide in American sizing.

I LOVE THESE SHOES -
I was a little worried about the toe piece, because I don't usually wear thong sandals, but after wearing them for a couple of days, I didn't even notice it anymore. These are literally the only shoes I've worn since I bought them. I got the silver non-leather ones, so they can be dressy or casual. Not only are they comfortable no matter how much I walk in them (most important), but they are so stylish I've even worn them out at night- dancing! (That was kind of an unexpected twist to the evening, but they let me in with these!) Also perfect for travel- I've been in Spain recently and everyone was wearing them. And I couldn't be more impressed with Zappos service. I ordered these on a Saturday evening and had them on Monday morning!
