Surprisingly -- almost weirdly -- comfortable!
I took these sandals with me on vacation, and it's not an overstatement to say they saved my trip. I didn't intend them to be walking shoes: I had brought along patent Mary-Janes that were cushioned and supportive (and hideously expensive) that seemed great while tooling around town before I left, but when I wore them for serious sight-seeing, they began to rub. I ended up with some really spectacular blisters, and besides my running shoes, these Gladios were the only other pair of shoes I had with me. The sandals left the sore parts of my poor, bandaged feet unmolested, so I wore them around London as I shopped for new walking shoes. Alas, I couldn't find a pair (for any price) that didn't put pressure on the blisters I already had. I didn't want to clomp around in sneakers, so I ended up wearing the sandals around Europe every day for two weeks, walking 6 to 8 hours a day in them, and they felt great. They were perfect for cobblestone streets and climbing to the top of cathedral domes: they hug your feet gently but securely and the flexible rubber soles provide great traction. The footbed features relatively thin cushioning, but my feet still felt both protected and supported in these. I don't usually get this rapturous about shoes, but I tell you, these things are amazing.

One word...Cankles. I'm pretty tall, but unless you have very skinny calves, these are bound to make your legs look like stumps. Cute with jeans though.

Okay, I wore these for the first time today and I swear every woman I saw was practically falling all over my feet. I got so many compliments, including an "I'm kinda jealous!" from a much younger, pretty girl who's unlikely to be jealous of much else. To top it all off, I wore them all day and found them to be very comfortable. Not a pinch or a rub anywhere, and I am uber-picky about my foot comfort. I was lucky enough to find them in a brown patent at another store, and alas, after making my hugely successful debut in them today, I am now scouring the earth for a black pair in my size. Love, love, love these shoes!

Hip and comfortable to walk in -
Normally I wear heels but these are very cute and look great with a skirt. I am surprised by how much I wear them and love the look. They look great with jeans too.

Sleek Gladios make me glad!
Love these shoes. Wore them to a formal dinner with a little black dress and patent clutch. They are simple, yet elegant. Also great w/ jeans and a black tank top.
