Nice look, awkward fit -
I wear a narrow, but can most times fit into a Bass medium since they tend to be narrower than stated. This shoe felt pretty comfortable, but the top of the shoe gathered at the base of the ties when I tied them. Not a flattering look. I guess the ball of my foot is not wide enough to fit this medium shoe. I have to send these back and search again for a comfortable, long, and narrow shoe.

I've been buying some variation of this shoe for nearly 20 years. The Ellie does not fit the same as the Exeter and Breck and whatever it was called before. It seems to be tighter in length and width. It's still a good-looking shoe, but you probably need to order up in size and width. The sole is also not as thick or comfortable.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: Eastland (for Bucks), Dr. Martens, Clarks

 |  | Dear Zappos, I just wanted to send a quick note to tell you that I will be a loyal customer for as long as you exist! I have never once had a bad experience with Zappos.com and have found even returning a product is pain-free. Many people find buying shoes online to be a process that is a hassle based on shipping costs and not getting a chance to see the shoe actually on their foot, but you have done a tremendous job not only making shipping easy, and FREE, but also providing a number of angles for a shoe online so it can best be represented without physically holding it. I have purchased numerous shoes, sandals and boots from Zappos over the years and have never once been disappointed. Most recently, I was upgraded to expedited shipping for free on my most recent purchase, which again pointed out why I love Zappos so much! My educational background is a degree in marketing as well as an MBA focused in strategic management, which makes me extra critical of things like customer service as well as other business functions. Zappos always comes up as my example of companies who are doing things right and charting their own path to success. I recommend your site to people all the time and hopefully they will experience the delight I have come to know as 'the norm' when dealing with Zappos. Thank you to everybody there for their hard work, dedication and emphasis on the customer. It is not going unrecognized and you have me hooked for life!
