This shoe is true to size and width. I have owned half a dozen other pairs of Mephistos and while all were extremely comfortable and supportive, this most recent pair is all of the above plus being lighter in weight and by far the most stylish.

I was excited about the shoe before it arrived, but after trying it on, I quickly realized that it was not for me - it was very stiff/uncomfortable across my toes. Since I wasn’t willing to see if they would "wear in", back they went. Beyond the "comfort" issue, they seemed very well made with a lot of cushion, and they were very cute.

These shoes were so comfortable right out of the box. I walked all over Sicily in them and not one blister! Don't be put off by the price; they're worth every penny. I'm tired of buying shoes that look and claim to go the distance and then fall short on the job. Although I think you could wear them barefoot, I paired them with Hue cotton sock liners with gel heel backs from a high end department store. You couldn't see them; they stayed in place and kept the shoe from getting sweaty and stinky. Before I settled on this particular pair, I tried several different size/fabric combinations and found they varied significantly. I preferred this style with the open mesh panels rather than the closed fabric panels which made the shoe feel tight in both the 6 1/2 and the 7. I also normally wear a size 7 but found this particular shoe most comfortable in a 6 1/2. Zappos, as always, is great, and the quick, free shipping in both directions made the trying on of different fabrics and sizes so easy.

A cool shoe (for your mother)-
I have to admit I have a slightly narrower foot than 'Medium' width, and that is my main problem with these shoes; while my feet are 8.5/9.0, the ankle strap does not allow me to adjust tightly enough to secure around my narrow ankle size.
As far as flexibility, I would have to disagree with those who say it is not flexible enough. I found the front half of the shoe to be quite flexible for walking (not at all stiff).

So far, these are great shoes. Fit my super feet (orthotics) well. They were a bit loose, but I tightened them with the straps. Great to walk in for hours - no problems with blisters, etc.

OMG! These are the coolest looking athletic shoes. The adjustable heel strap gives you a custom fit. I removed the insole and joy of joy my orthotics fit perfect. I am taking them on a trip to Europe and the added benefit of them looking nice is a plus. The fit is true to size, and of course the service at Zappos is outstanding as always.

Very comfortable to wear barefoot & with the mesh, airy too. Can wear with an orthotic with plenty of room but you don't really need to as they are so comfortable. I like the velcro adjustment for the instep & heel to customize the fit. The yellow is kind of bright, but I kept them. Got the red with grey mesh too and they are great with jeans & shorts.

This is my second pair of these shoes, in this color! I loved my first pair so much that I feared one day I would have to toss them. The Mephisto stores in my area no longer carry this item. I went online and found them on Zappos website. Oh, happy day! The shoes fit me perfectly, look good with many different outfits, and I frequently receive compliments on them. The velcro strap makes them very easy to put on and off. Zappos delivery was prompt and I will look here first for my next pair.

Most comfortable shoe I've ever owned! I have been wearing for long walks and working at crawfish boils with no foot pain (highly unusual for me). The adjustable straps on the back and front make the difference. Love the ball on the heel of the shoe. Make you feel "Springy"!

Foot that hurts -
I have a Neuroma at the bottom of my foot, and have trouble finding any shoe that is comfortable. This shoe is wonderful and my orthotics fit into it. I would give this shoe a number 10.

Almost perfect -
These shoes were recommended to me as something that would accommodate my normal-width forefoot, super narrow heels, and orthotics. They work great for me; my only complaint is that I wish they had a bit more depth in the toes to accommodate my mild hammertoes. I can only wear these with my custom orthotics which stop just before the toes, giving me more room in the toes. These shoes are too tight in the toes if I wear them with the included insoles or a full-length orthotic. However, the next 1/2 size larger is too big everywhere else! Otherwise these shoes seem to run true to size for me. They are also fairly flexible -- I can't walk in really stiff shoes! I cannot comment on the arch support since most shoes don't have enough support to even touch my super-high arches!

Walking shoe lacks flexibility -
The order was delivered within 24 hours! The cut out across the arch is exactly what I need to avoid interference with the cyst on the top of my foot. The fabric and design are nice. The sole is too rigid and does not flex enough to make walking easy or quiet. To be an expensive shoe, I was turned off by the need to purchase an arch support to make it a real walker. I need it for the cut out, so I use it.

Some recent foot issues make it necessary for me to wear customized orthotics from now on, and I've been distressed about how few shoes work for me anymore. (I'm a huge shoe lover!) I was very hopeful about the Mephisto brand, and these shoes did not disappoint. They are very cute; true to size; and, best of all for me, they accommodate my orthotics when I remove the Mephisto insole. I actually returned them to Zappos because I'd ordered two Allrounders with the intention of keeping one for now and ordering another later, and I decided on the other (brown) pair for now. Zappos was terrific: I got these the day after I ordered them.

Zappos' service is consistently far above average. This was probably my 6th Zappos order and I will certainly continue. Mephisto Allrounders, specifically, alleviate my foot pain better than any other shoe, of any brand, that I've tried. The arch support is just the kind my foot problem needs! Walking On Clouds -
I was walking around a big city in a similar looking shoe and ending up with horrible blisters. I went into a store and this was the only shoe that didn't hurt. Afterwards I went for an hour walk in the woods without any pain. I liked them so much I had to have them in black. They are light weight and provide good support. The second pair are a tad bigger, but fit extra arch supports nicely.

Great shoe!
Bought these for travel in rainy weather. Not as heavy as many rain shoes - very roomy toe box and adjustable strap adds comfort, too. Recommended!!

Skinny Feet -
I like the shoe a lot, but can never find a good fit. They are large, but I need that for my hammer toes on one foot. I put my orthotics in and use them for the gym. Walking downhill outside my foot slides forward and they hurt my toes, but I kept them ‘til I found a better alternative. Normal feet would probably be fine, but I don't have normal feet.

Love these little shoes!
This is my third pair of these shoes, that's how much I love them. I have them in three different colors to go with what I am wearing during the warm-weather months. They are oh-so-comfortable and fit my feet like they were custom made just for me. They are even better than going bare foot. And they look so cute on. I may even buy another pair if I see another color I like later on. They are well worth the higher price.

I love the looks and comfort of this shoe - but wish the soles were a bit more spongy. I am taking on my first trip with me so hope they are not too hard for long walks.

The most comfortable show I have ever worn -
The Niro would be comfortable for anyone, but especially for me. I wear an orthotic brace and the foot pad is extremely deep and roomy so therefore accommodates the brace. I love them and have them in five colors.

Alternative look for walking shoes -
This is the 3rd pair of allrounders I've purchased. I used them as walking shoes in lieu of sneakers. I live in NYC & walk about 2 or more miles most days. I alternate between a red & black pair, they are comfortable, great support & look so much better than white sneakers. LOVE THEM.

I am so blown away with the Mephisto All Arounders. They are so comfortable; it's like wearing no shoes. I've had recently 4 foot surgeries and I ordered these to allow me to start walking a little bit at a time. I LOVE THEM! Ordering from or returning an item is so easy. I love Zappos.
