Order at least a size down from what you normally wear as these shoes run large. I got mine as work boots for constructing our camp during a desert arts festival. They did not need any 'breaking in' and were comfortable right away. They are very sturdy with cushy insoles, they supported my feet so that at the end of the day they didn't hurt! (And normally my feet ALWAYS hurt!).Highly recommend.

Great Pair of Doc's - After quite a few years of not buying Dr. Martens, I decided to get a new pair. This pair met most of my needs and I decided I would give them a try. Out of the box, they were great. The additional cushioned insole makes this pair of Doc's the best I have ever owned (I've owned 10 pair before these). I am extremely happy with this pair. They do take some breaking in. Padding around the ankle makes the back of the shoe a bit more stiff than I like, but it is not painful, and as I have had them for about a week now, it is beginning to break down enough that it doesn't bother me anymore. I usually have to buy a wide shoe, but these fit perfectly and I didn't need any break-in time for that.

These are the 2nd pair of Doc's I've owned, and they are even better than my 7 eye lace ups! Much lighter in weight, very well made, super comfortable and quietly fashionable. They did take a few long days to "break" leaving my feet a bit tired and a little sore, but once they finally relax to your feet, you'll never go back. I stand nearly 7 hrs a day on concrete and could not be more comfortable, believe me I've tried! Plus, I also wear them on my scooter! One note, I usually wear a 7.5 or 8 in most shoes. Doc's, I'm a 7, but it was no big deal with Zappos awesome free shipping BOTH ways! Zappos rocks! Great selection, great prices and great return policy. Thank you!
