Marvelous shoe! I am 82 years old, have Plantar Fasciitis and Type II Diabetes. To help with the immense pain of the PF I must wear medical Orthotics. If that was not bad enough, I have an unusually high instep. Tried a number of shoes and was not very happy with any of them. After a few hours they pinched here or there and after a whole day, I could hardly walk any more. Come the Drew Energy. The unique steel wire "tying" system equalizes itself automatically and the shoe forms a cocoon around each foot. Even when completely open ("untied") the shoes can be walked in safely and they are roomy enough to feel comfortable without pinching. If there would be one minor complaint, the shoes could be lighter. A minor inconvenience. All in all, regardless of costs, these are the best shoes I found for my needs.

The on the fly Boa lacing system when bumped is like instant untying of shoe laces. If you are relying on shoe to stay tied I would not recommend this shoe. The cloth around leather frays at seams over time. I will say that the shoe holds up for wear better than laces this seems to be because you can't over tighten lacing system as it will pop loose. Would I buy another pair, probably not! I have had this shoe for over a year.

This is absolutely the best athletic shoe I have ever had! It is very, very comfortable and so easy to get on and off. I plan to buy a pair of brown ones, and also a pair of black ones in the very near future.

Great shoe -
Fit is very comfortable and shoe seems very sturdy. I have a very wide foot and high instep and it feels and fits great. Will have to see if wire system holds up in the long term.

Look no shoe laces to trip on!!!
Shoe has a tendency to pop out of tension if bumped. It seemed to be a half size smaller. If I were to order again, I'd get half size larger.

Superb fit, which is self adjustable. My feet have hurt for 30 years. The Doc said to get some "rockers." These are. He also said that one leg was a touch longer. You can remove an insert to correct. Finally, "no shoestrings" Boa system makes the tightness adjustable by a turn of a knob.

Well - originally I loved this shoe, but now I am unhappy -
Initially I loved this shoe, but now I am disappointed. I have had a pair for about two months and the lacing system is starting to fail off and on. At first I thought that it was because I was hitting the knob on the back and thus loosening it, but upon careful observation, it appears that it gives way at odd times. Once when I was walking down the stairs of our RV, it gave way and almost caused me to fall. For the price, I would have expected it would hold up better. I bet this system won't be around long and I suggest that you avoid it.

These shoes are great, feel true to size and easy to tighten. After back surgery had a hard time with shoes, they did the trick. I will buy another pair, well worth the money; I can tighten them during the day with ease. At 350 lbs I need a good shoe and comfort.

Wonderful Shoe -
I have wide - hard to fit - feet, plus I have a hard time tying my shoes and like to readjust the tightness frequently. This is my ideal shoe. The cord system is flawless - loosens instantly and adjusts infinitely. It has two insoles to remove or leave in. This worked well as I took one out at first and then put it back in as the shoe "broke in". I ended up with a half size smaller than I usually wear and that seemed a bit wider than a "normal" 4E. Cushiony, comfortable, I can't rave enough about my new favorite shoe.

Unique System -
The wire lace system is truly unique. Turning a dial on the back of the shoe to tighten is very easy. You can adjust each shoe individually. However once the dial is pulled out all tension immediately leaves the wire. My concern in this regard is what if this gets hit accidentally then there goes the shoe. I've had this happen once so far fortunately I was inside.
With the wire system you also cannot adjust the "laces" on the foot which I often need to do. I most likely would not have gotten it if I had considered that but overall it's a good shoe.
The shoe is a little heavier then normal but not so much that it would bother you. It seems like a very sturdy shoe.

I really love this shoe. I got it the day after I ordered it from zappos.com.
I'm a really lazy person, so I abhor laces. The boa system the shoe uses puts an end to that, and not at the cost of fitting well, as in slip on shoes.
