Bog beauty -
Our 5 yo walked 6 miles in them last weekend without any complaints or blisters (about the shoes anyway.) ;-) Today they really got a workout - winter in England. Every field for 4 miles was water-logged while every dip, gate, and stile was a bog. We came home covered with mud and unrecognizable hiking boots looking like they all need a high-pressure hose! We'll wait until they dry tomorrow and hopefully brush it all off...Our 5 yo had completely dry, clean socks and feet. Hooray for these high hiking boots and GORE-TEX. I initially flinched at the price but they proved their worth today.

Great every day boot -
We purchased a different Ecco boot for our then 3 1/2 year old son last winter- and he wore them almost everyday- yet they still looked brand new at the end of the season. I thought I'd buy the same brand this year, and have not been disappointed. This boot keeps his feet warm (yet not too warm) and dry- and are easy to get on and off, and fit hit like a light weight athletic shoe. These are absolutely great for our Chicago area ice, snow and slush. I highly recommend these, and will continue to buy them each year from Zappos! At this point, any other boot would be a disappointment!

Worth the money - substantial boot -
Tried many, many boots. This one seems to fit the bill for a 4 year old. Not too heavy, comes high enough over the ankle (some seemed to stop at the ankle and cause a rubbing point). Sole is fairly rigid, but there is some flex fluffy inside with padding around the collar. Easy velcro straps (won't do laces again until he's older!). As it's still November, we haven't really given this a full workout yet - but I'm hopeful. Bought 1/2 size larger to allow for thicker winter socks. And given Zappos fabulous shipping and easy returns, it makes sense to try it if it's in your budget (and maybe even if it's over - like mine)!

 |  | You're pretty awesome. Let me count the ways: 1. You make it easy for me to find great shoes. That should be enough. BUT I SOLDIER ON. 2. Pretty darn good website. There are lil' bugs here and there (sometimes narrowing a search doesn't totally work, but for the most part it does), but comparing you folks to some other nightmarish sites I've used, especially with the sheer amount of product you have for me to see...well done. 3. Convenience. HOLY CONVENIENCE, BATMAN! Much like Ian McKaye of the band Fugazi, I am a patient boy, I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait, I'll wait. But when I order from you I don't have to. I've had shoes get to me so fast I actually thought there must have been a mistake because it got to me TOO quickly. Guys, that is some serious service. This is why I buy shoes exclusively from you. 4. Customer Service. I had a store credit recently, but like an idiot, I deleted the email with the credit code. I called up and talked to a totally friendly, funny, helpful guy. He said he'd take care of emailing me the code and all would be right with the world. OH NOES! The email, actually never showed up. So I called back and spoke with a totally friendly, funny, helpful girl (with a completely pretty voice, I'll be honest) and she got me a coupon code while I was on the phone (THAT'S good turnaround) and explained that there were the dreaded *technical difficulties* and the other dude didn't actually screw up. Guys, I've never talked to a company on the phone and ended with such a good feeling. I have friends that I don't enjoy talking to on the phone that much. Close friends. Is it ok if I just call to talk sometime? I'm kidding. Maybe. 5. You ALL seem to have a sense of humor. You guys are frakkin' funny! Your email, any of the “dig deeper” sort of stuff (blogs, joke of the day, etc.). That is beyond refreshing, thank you so much :) Honestly, as long as you guys are around, you got my bidness.
