These are not the boots I'd want to wear tromping through the city. Their comfort is acceptable, but compared to my Cole Haan boots with Nike Air soles, they fail miserably. Nonetheless their calf hugging perfection and vintage inspired exterior zippers more than make up for any complaints in the comfort department.

Yes, but, okay, so these boots are supposed to be 1) new and 2) odor-free. What shall I say? I wore them one day, yesterday, and there is odor. So either the pair I got was not new, or that odor-free statement here is culturally relative. I never had a pair of shoes or boots in which my feet stunk, so perhaps Zappos wants to make me an offer for those ones?

These are tailor cut on the calf but not as comfortable in the toe area. The padding on the sole is really rather cheap, unfortunately, so if you have orthopedic concerns, you will probably need to put in an insole of some kind. And then the question of size becomes very important. Other than that, great boot, excellent leather. Unfortunately, they do not come in half sizes above 10. I tried 10 and 11 and will send the 11 back to exchange for the 10-the 11 is so wide around the ankle that my foot slips up (and sort of out of the boot halfway) when I walk. I had to choose between getting very tired of wearing the boot because of the additional effort required, and the fact that the toes in the size 10 are not squeezed, but that there is virtually no space between them to allow for more than millimeters of movement. I count on using only the lightest and thinnest of all socks in them so as to not overcrowd that tiny space. for La Canadienne, I expect in the future that they will adjust the shape of the toe area to allow more room, a more rounded front/toe area certainly is not less stylish but definitely a lot more toe-friendly, or introduce half sizes in 10.5 and above. Perhaps also improve on the quality of the insoles in general.

These are such nice, sleek boots! They fit very well and comfortably on the foot, but seemed to lack significant padding on the sole. The shaft was narrow for me -- so I got curious and actually measure my calf: 14 inches...I could barely zip these up, so I am returning them.

Love Them Shoes -
I ordered the La Canadienne Laney boot in the patent leather crinkle. I wear them with short skirts or jeans. They are extremely attractive. I have 3 pair of Canadienne boots. I have the Kris in black and brown. They fit so perfectly. Zappos is the only place I shop for shoes.
