I spent a great deal of time reseaching multiple styles of boots for my upcoming trip to Eastern Europe. We plan to do a lot of walking and I am not one to be uncomfortable but care very much about the statement personal style makes. I am thrilled with these simple, genius boots. Though they aren\'t particularly stunning, they are stylish and make the leg look good. The gathered ankle and lining that shows works brilliantly when on. I put them on with leggings and was immediately sold. The 41 fit me perfectly. I typically wear a 9.5 and occasionaly a 10, usually due to having a wide foot and generous calf. The shock absorbtion is fantastic in the heel. There is a spring with every step to reduce shock. The arch support is moderate and I think I might get by without an arch insert, but if it were necessary the insert would fit. They are also light as a feather and, as we intend to pack light, this is a big help. I am going to use these for moderate walking and for looking decent when going out at night on our trip. I agree that this is a very comfortable, sturdy and relatively good-looking boot; it’s especially nice for anyone with chubby calves (like me) because it slips right on and looks surprisingly good. I'd think of this as an all-weather boot you can wear out to dinner or to work, e.g., it's snowing/slushy out and you don't want to wear hiking boots. In that case they'd be very nice to have, but with the rubber sole and the chunky look, they are not super stylish. The most comfortable boots I've worn; well padded footbed and soft thick leather throughout. Well-designed. I would have kept mine because it's nice to have options when the weather is bad, but they were out of my size.

Comfy not fashionable -
I purchased this shoe for a Europe trip. So far it is very comfy. But it is just a bit snug in the toe area, I wear a 7.5 (sometimes 8) and ordered the 38. In some other shoes I have 37's. It is nice and loose in the ankle unlike most other boots and you can just pull it on. I wouldn't say its high fashion, the sole is rubber looking.

Near perfect boot if you're not skinny, or even if you are -
I wear a size 16 clothes and most boots are too tight or hard to get on. Not only is this looser, the leather is rich-looking and lamb-soft and it naturally falls into folds - but doesn't fall too far. The top band of microfiber is heaven, and the foot fit and comfort is like wearing a form-fitting terrific walking shoe. Yet it looks very feminine on. I wear a size 10, never a 10.5 but sometimes a 9.5, and the size 41 is perfect. If you are a 10, but sometimes 10.5, I would definitely order a 42. If you walk in wet or snowy conditions, this boot is great for short distances. It's not for serious deep snow, but it's better than a typical fashion boot. Great grip and traction.
