These are the most comfortable shoes I've had in a long time. I wear them to work in a hospital, on my feet all day. They're great!

Not as good as I hoped -
I run in a Mizuno WaverRunner and was looking for a Mizuno trail running shoe. Even though this was not the version 2, which most reviews praised, I decided to try it. The shoe has great tread and traction. My longest trail run in these has been 13 miles and the stability is very good. My biggest issue is that the toe box seems narrower than my road Mizunos. Therefore I get some pinching after being in the shoes for a couple of hours of running. I did buy a full size larger.

Want the orig. Wave Ascend back!
The Wave Ascend is the running shoe after two years of battling plantar fasciitis, that got me back to running the long distances I love on paved and trail roads with virtually no pain or further injury. I am very disappointed that this style is not being manufactured. I ordered a pair of Wave Ascend 3 and was very disappointed in the lack of arch support and motion control that the orig. Wave Ascend had. Struggling to find a similar show.

Best trail shoe -
I've liked the Mizuno Wave Ascent since they came out and found the changes made through the three models have been positive, especially in durability of the uppers. I'm a lifelong runner who prefers trails and sand dunes, but runs roadsides occasionally. This shoe crosses over well. I've bought two pair to rotate with my Brooks. My feet need a good sized toebox, but have no pronation issues. The Mizuno are the only ones I race in. They drain well after stream crossings and don't heat up. They keep sand and debris out well and look really bright and colorful paired with Dirty Girl Gaiters.

Disappointed with new version of Mizuno Wave Ascend -
I bought the earlier version of this shoe over a year ago and they were so wonderful. I need loads of arch support and motion control in a running shoe . . . so I thought this new Mizuno wave ascend would work. But for some reason, this one does not cradle my foot like the old one or provide adequate forefoot support. And it has very little arch support. The color is fun but sort of bright for a running shoe, so I feel awkward wearing them too. So I'm back in my old Mizunos for now and hope to find another shoe that works as well.

Great trail shoe. This shoe is comfortable from the moment you put it on, really good trail shoe. Very light and cushy, a great motivator to get out there and RUN!

Love these shoes for walking -
Primarily walking now (pregnant and lost will to run!), and LOVE these shoes in the snowy/slushy/icy winter weather of Michigan. I'm pretty sure they'll be great for running postpartum.

Mizuno - surprisingly comfortable -
Love these hiking shoes! I've tried other brands that prevent slipping while on the trail but they were always too stiff to feel good for a long hike. Just wore these Mizunos on a 10-mile hike and my feet never felt better. The color is a little bright for me but I'll put up with it for the utility and comfort aspect.

 | | Thanks so very much for passing on my comments about the CS reps super service. I still can't get over how incredibly sweet and knowledge able everyone is at Zappos. Such outstanding service like this is extremely rare, and just wanted to let you folks know how much I appreciate it. I just received the Old Gringo cowboy boots that I had to exchange for a larger size, and they are simply awesome! You guys are without question, the absolute best! Once again, my many sincere thanks for such a great shopping experience! Warmest regards, Mark N. | | ~ Mark N., October 27 2009
