Excellent walking shoes -
I bought these shoes because I always worry about sliding when I took a walk in local park trail with my NB walking shoes. Received these shoes from Zappos yesterday with a big surprise since it is only one day after I ordered it and I selected normal/free shipping. Put on these shoes this afternoon. Wow! It really provides a very sure footing. And it provides just right tightness for my feet and plenty rooms for my toes, just the kind I like. It makes my feet very comfortable. When I got back from the afternoon walk and changed back to my NB walking shoes, I started feeling the walking shoes is not as comfortable as it used to be. These shoes certainly are not as comfortable as a pair of SAS, but this is the best pair of sneakers I ever had. And for walking on trails, the best shoe I ever had so far.
Other shoes recommended by reviewer: Get a 2nd pair while you can!

Just one problem -
New Balance provides the best fit for my 12.5 4E high instep feet, so I had many pairs. In terms of fit quality and stability these are my hands down favorites. The problem is with the Gore-Tex lining that makes noise when the shoe is flexed. Maybe it will limber-up eventually, but two weeks has not made a difference. I can't comment on the arch - I've never found a shoe with a support high enough for my feet.

Good waterproof athletic shoes!
New Balance is a savior for my wide feet. Not all New Balance shoes fit the same. The SL-1 last fits my feet well. Check out their website to learn more about the lasts and the feet they fit. The shoes look good. Gore-Tex is a great product. The shoes work well as my everyday shoes and as light hikers.

AWESOME!!
I belong to a military unit that does heavy physical training everyday; this shoe is hands down possibly the best shoe that I’ve ever owned. Well worth the money.

These are the best shoes I have ever owned. I have worn many, many different name brand shoes and New Balance are usually the only ones that carry wides. They feel like I'm wearing slippers. Very satisfied.

Great for Low Arch w/ wide feet!
I usually wear 10.5 4E in Asics and this one felt a bit larger and I probably could have gone with a 10 for this shoe. The cushioning could be a bit better. Arch support is somewhat low, but better for me. With Gore-Tex it gets quite warm; make sure you don't wear cotton socks!

New Balance MT 1110 -
Another good pair of shoes from New Balance, however, they could benefit from more arch support. Cushioning is minimal, they work well on well groomed trails but are not well suited for hard surfaces. I like them but use only for off road workouts.
