The shoe itself is comfortable, but the straps are short so they are tight around the top of the ankle. The shortness makes them, well, let’s say, not easy to get on and off.

My last pair of Columbia sandals lasted so long that I got too used to wearing them - meaning the new ones are going to take awhile to break them in to that point they are more comfortable than the first pair, which I still keep around as a back-up pair. The new ones' (the Sun Trax) straps are a little stiff and they don't adjust as much as the original pair. However, I have confidence; based on experience from the original pair, that these will be more than adequate, even to wear year-round, here in South Orange County, California.

Velcro cuts your feet -
Nice looking shoes but hurt your feet. The Velcro rubs and creates sores.

Nice sandal for wet times -
I got these sandals for use around the lake and boats. They're synthetic to dry quickly. They're treated against odor - a big plus when compared to the high-priced plastic summer "shoes" you smell everywhere. I haven't worn them enough to see if the treatment really works for me, though. I'd prefer a back strap that opens, but that is the only bad thing I can say about them. Not really inexpensive, but a decent value. I'd buy again right away if I lost these.

The design of these new sandals is great because the heel strap is solid. This makes the sandal, when strapped, well, impossible to come off unless you undo the top straps. When it comes to walking in the water or pushing off rocks in a rough river from a canoe these sandals are like underwater sneakers. Very efficient underwater, did not feel much slippage, and despite looking like a thin sole, rocks and gravel did nothing to bring my feet discomfort. Darn good sandal!

Perfect! I got these for my boyfriend since we were planning a trip to Boston (which means we would be walking A LOT!). He loved them. We walked for 2 days from morning until night and he said they were very comfortable and very light.

Nice basic sport sandal -
This is a good sandal for casual days. The basic conservative design helps align them with almost any leisure outfit. Not very good when wet, so avoid wearing them in the rain.

My first order with Zappos was for a pair of size 14 golf shoes. Believe it or not, I received the shoes the very next day. They happened to be a little tight (I wear between a 14 and 15 shoe). I returned them with no hassle and within the week had a new pair of 15s which fit perfectly. Shortly after that I ordered a pair of sandals. The ones I wanted were out of stock initially. They let me know quickly when they were again available. I received them two days after I placed the order. As far as I'm concerned Zappos has put the ZIP in ZIP code!
Other shoes recommended by reviewer: Check with Zappos first before you buy any shoes.

Surprisingly pleased -
I don't typically wear sandals, but thought I would try a pair. I would seriously recommend this pair. I was surprised at the comfort. My wife and I walk 2/3 miles a night, and I even wear them to do that. If I ever wear this pair out, I'm going to definitely buy another. If I could say 1 thing, it would be this... if you wear a 10 1/2 get the size 10. I got the 11, and they are a tad bit big, but still extremely comfortable.

Saw 'em, Liked 'em, Bought 'em.
Was window shopping in May 2008, liked the looks of the Sun Trax Sandal, but didn't buy at that time. After purchasing online in July and wearing for some time now, they have been what I was expecting; a lightweight sandal, weather resistant, and look good with casual summer wear.

Great River Shoe!
I have owned two earlier models of Columbia's river sandal and these are by far the best yet! Comfort and style are very high. I also wear size 16, so I am usually at the mercy of whatever "almost" fits.

This is a great sandal! I didn't realize how poorly my older sandals were fitting until I put the Sun Trax on. They are very light, really nice construction, great fit. Comfortable right out of the box. The color is lighter then I thought. I would say that espresso squash color is a shade lighter in person then in the photo on the website. More of a clay brown or taupe than the darker brown shown. Zappos got them to me in 1 day, what a nice surprise! Great job Zappos!

Wonderful shoes -
The shoe is made sturdy, looks stylish, comfortable, and dries quickly when wet. The foot sits high in the front and makes the toes protected. I am diabetic and need protection, but still want the comfort of a sandal. Great purchase and Zappos gave we wonderful, fast service.

I chose the gray/brown combination. I like the sandals for general wear. They are light weight, non slip, have massage-y insoles, but the outsole is some what flexible for my taste. I'd prefer a more rigid shoe. The hook and loop fasteners provide lots of adjustment.
Other shoes recommended by reviewer: Nunn bush cameron is the only one I buy.

The sandals are remarkable...very comfortable, easy to take off and on (I'm 70 years old), and clean up great after spending a couple of hours working in the yard...and best of all...it was great to shop at Zappos.com and find a selection of shoes in my size 15. That's very rare!

Size 16 Sandals -
My husband has a very hard time finding shoes - with a size 16 foot. We live in Montana and that is not a common size that you find in smaller cities. We looked all last year and could not find a pair any where - online or in our home town (that he liked). So someone told me about Zappos - I went online and found the Columbia Sandals in 5 minutes and placed my order - within 2 to 3 days we had the shoes and he loves them. Thank you so much.

Disappointed in looks and comfort -
These look nice in the photo, but they look like orthopedic shoes on! The front of the shoe spans out around my foot like a ping-pong paddle. The materials are nice quality and the colors are rich, which is why I rated them a 2 and not a 1 on looks, but they are *very* unattractive and I would be embarrassed to wear them in public. Also, they are nowhere near as comfortable as I expected them to be. They are not uncomfortable, but for an "athletic" sandal, they don't feel any more comfortable than your average pair of $5 flip-flops. Not what I expected. They are definitely going back! I am glad Zappos is such a great merchant and that I can easily buy and return products. I have made many purchases from Zappos and will continue shopping here as Zappos is a wonderful merchant. This is the first time I've ever been this disappointed with a purchase.
