I have accepted the fact that shearling slippers maintain their size and stay cozy for only one year of consistent use. Therefore Old Friend's Bootee is the winner. It is moderately priced, keeps ankles warm and has slip-proof soles. I do wish they hadn't discontinued the tan fleece in favor of the white for women.

I love Zappos!!!
Zappos is simply the BEST friendliest, PATIENT, courteous outstanding customer service!!! Just cannot say enough positive things about this company. Oh yea the slippers are great; also I found them to be a little big I am a 1/2 size and had to order down can’t stand anything flopping against heel. A little snug at first but broke in after 2 days and they fit perfect! Thanks again Zappos!!!

Love these--only problem is lack of half-sizes. I am a small 6 ½, so a 7 would be floppy after it stretched. I opted for the 6-- it'll work after I stretch it a little. Otherwise, they're very warm and comfortable.

I'm sold on Zappos. No shipping charge.
I bought a pair of the Booties at a store in a tourist town. (52.51 with tax) Came home and showed them to my daughter, she wanted a pair. So I Googled them and got Zappos. I struck gold. No shipping. The high charges for shipping is a pet peeve of mine and will not buy because of it. I ordered them Monday morning and she received them on Tuesday. It was wonderful. The people over the phone couldn't have been more pleasant. I will order from them again. I've told several people about this website. I love my booties. I just hope they don't stretch much. I think maybe I could have gotten a size smaller, but my toe did touch the end when I bought them. Time will tell, for my next pair. If I put socks on socks, the sock slips off of my heel. I usually take a nine shoe and I did get the ladies nine.

Wonderfully comfortable and warm. Keeps my feet from sweating and freezing in the winter. Much better than some competitor's shearling slippers. Only complaint is that the soles wear rather quickly. At 50 bucks a pair you'd THINK they'd be more durable!

Old Friend Bootee-So Comfortable!
I originally got the Minnetonka Ankle Boot, and while they were comfortable and warm, the sole was too narrow. It angled down from the side of my foot and when I walked, my foot would turn sideways and I felt like I was walking on the side. I loved them, but my feet are too wide for the way they are made. So I decided to try the Old Friend's Bootee. It is very similar in style, but the sole goes straight down and is more substantial. My problem fixed, I am thrilled with these slippers. They are so warm and soft, and can be worn outside as well. I have a pair of Old Friend Hi-Lo boots also, and I love them too. The Hi-Lo runs large and my regular size, a 7, was almost too big, but I got these a size larger, and they fit perfectly. So, for me, they run a half size to a whole size smaller. The color isn't great, but I don't care. They are so comfortable I don't care what color they are. I spend most of my time at home and I will probably live in these booties. Oh, and I agree with the other reviews. They seem tight when you first put them on, but after they are on, they fit great, so don't let that deceive you. Thank you, Old Friend, for making a slipper that fits, and thank you, Zappos, for helping me find them.

"OLD FRIEND" is a constant companion!
I wear this bootee (hard for me to say, because I'm a guy) constantly. When I come home from work, one the first things I do is get out of my shoes. I always reach for the bootees. In the spring and summer, I wear them without socks. The thickness of the socks I wear from fall to winter gradually increases (We keep the house cold). My feet are comfortable all year long. When they get really dirty (I tend to be a bit of a slob), they are vanquished to gardening.
As an excellent side benefit of the constant wear, my feet never get dried and cracked in the summer like they used to (I used to go barefoot or wear just socks). The natural lanolin works wonders. I will shortly be on my 5th pair.

Old Friends are the best -
I have a pair of Old Friend Romeos that I really enjoy. My wife needed new slippers, so I recommended an Old Friends, she says they are really warm and comfy, she actually said "squishy" also. Would do it again...Bootee or Romeo.

I could not believe how great the service was from Zappos, free 1 day shipping! Shoes themselves are very nice quality, very comfortable and even a little too warm. Very nice for cold days, even when walking outside in cold weather. I highly recommend these to anyone, male or female!

Very Comfortable!!
They may not be the stylish of slippers / boots, but they are very comfortable and warm. They are great for around the house (inside and outside) use.

Warm and comfortable -
I had a pair of slippers from LL Bean that I liked a lot but one of my dogs liked the taste of them better; therefore, I had to buy a new pair. I was going to purchase another pair from LL Bean but I decided to price Zappos since my previous order from them was very satisfactory. Not only were they cheaper but they offered free shipping. I saved about $12.00 and bought a nice warm slipper. The slippers were a little snug at first; but as with most slippers, they stretched some and are now very comfortable.

Love them!
Very comfortable and warm, especially with the folded sides turned up. When I first put them on I thought they may be a bit small since my big toe hit right at the toe of the shoe, which was a concern to me since I have a bunion. However, I knew the next size larger would be too big. I decided to give them a try and after just a couple days my foot settled in the plush lining just fine.

I really love these. As soon as I come home from work, I slip them on and it's like a warm pillow on my feet. There is enough padding and it's loose enough that there's no sweating. I've been using them for a while and they don't smell at all.

The coziest ever!
The coziest slipper ever; I look forward to coming home, kicking off my shoes, and slipping into pure warmth and comfort; excellent for quick coffee runs, picking up the paper, mail, etc. My fifteen year-old daughter steals them from me all the time, so I'm considering getting her a pair so she'll leave mine alone!!! Comfortable, but $50?
These are really comfortable slippers, but they are only slippers and I don't see why they are so expensive. I would shop around for something less costly and made elsewhere. (I wouldn't have gotten them had I not had a $20 Zappos discount. They are worth the $30 I spent).

Zappos--The Most Outstanding shopping experience on the -
This is, I think, the fourth time we've ordered through Zappos. I'm sure we're above average in terms of the amount of online shopping we do. Let me simply say, Zappos.com is, in my opinion, UNRIVALED in terms of customer service. First, this website has a jillion shoes you can search--as well as take a good look at, with its multiple-angle pictures. Cross referencing ability is excellent. And from where I stand, the prices seem reasonable. On top of that, you place your order with free 2-day delivery ...and shortly after, you get a notice from Zappos that they're upgrading you to 1-day delivery at no charge. On this particular order, we submitted our order around 4:30 p.m., Pacific Time, on a Tuesday--and the order arrived around 3:45 p.m. the next day. I'm still a little floored by that. THEN...IF YOU EVER HAVE A PROBLEM (which I did once--the shoes didn't fit well)...ZAPPOS PAYS THE RETURN POSTAGE. Just amazing. Really, I can't say enough about the online ordering experience at Zappos.com.
And, oh yeah... my wife loves her Old Friend's Bootees. She's another one of those icicle-toed ladies. These Bootees keep her feet nice and cozy, and they look very nice.
And can I just say... if you don't happen to own a computer and have Internet access, it's worth the price to get both if only to do your shoe shopping on Zappos.com.

I've had a pair of these booties for many years. They are the best! I'm getting a new pair because the bottoms of the soles have holes and the side seam is coming undone. The wool lining is fine and they are still cozy. I think the stitching sole materials should be held up to higher standards.

Pretty cozy bootees -
So far I've enjoyed the coziness in my feet that these bootees provide. The width is great. I ordered a size 10 despite the fact that I always wear a 9, mainly on the recommendation of some previous reviews here, but if you're a 9, just order the 9. Otherwise these are great after about 2 weeks of owning them. I do, however, wish they were a bit less expensive.
