I really love the boot, it’s very comfy, I didn't realize how tall they are though. I'm a pretty small person, so they go pretty high on my calf. Other than that, I think they're great.

Finally, a cute boot for larger calves!
Great look, very comfortable (especially as I have a high arch) and they're quite tall, which is great for the weather around here. I would disagree that they're heavy, but weigh what you would expect for a large functional boot with a lug sole. Best of all they fit over my 17in calves, and I can even tuck jeans in to them! Very cute, and Zappos definitely gives you the best deal and most reliable service.

Cute Eskimo shoes! Thanks to the lovely San Franciscan summers, I got to try these out a couple days ago! (It's June) And I must say I was the cutest (and warmest) little Eskimo in the city. Very comfortable – of course, being Earth shoes. Nice for people like me with large calves that zip up boots will not go over.

So far, so good.
I just got these boots after our last major snow fall. I wore them around the house for several days to break them in. After several days, they felt comfortable. To me, these boots are light for the type of boot they are. I like the height of the boots and the traction on the soles. I feel confident that they will work well for me when we next have a major snow fall.

Fantastic Boot!
These boots fit like a glove. I've got a 38" inseam (20" from floor to knee) and size 11W foot and they are tall and wide enough for me. From the first day I had the boots on, I've received a ton of compliments everywhere I go. They are perfect for our Wisconsin winters. Whenever anyone asks where I got such "cool" boots I tell them Zappos.com. I did have to wait for my size & color choice, but was notified by Zappos when they became available. Love, love, love these boots!!!

Warm and good for large calves, too.
So I have fairly thick calves (18"), but I wanted a boot that went up to my knee since I have to walk through the snow regularly. This boot fits around my calves without any problems! The tread is good though (as any boot tread, really) will not perform as well on pure ice. You'd need spikes for that, but these boots are great for ice + snow mixtures, pure snow, and even puddles - though I have tried to avoid puddles as much as possible. I think they could be warmer in the actual shoe area. The calf area is quite warm, but the shoe part is not as warm as the calf area. So I wear big wool socks with them and it works great when I'm in the extreme cold (-20 F). One thing I noticed right away is that it hurts my feet to walk in them all day, even after owning them for a while. I think the base of the foot could use with more comfort, so I bought an insert, which helps. I bought a size larger due to the comments on this board and I think it fits perfectly.

Exactly What I Was Looking For!
I love these boots! I wear a size 4.5-5, and it has taken forever to find waterproof, faux-fur trimmed boots that come up to my knees and fit perfect. My search is over! I wear these with thick socks and got used to the negative heel in a few minutes. I'm 5 ft, 90 lbs with skinny legs, but guess what; these boots look awesome with jeans tucked in, and with mini-skirts, too! The only thing is that they are HEAVY!

Stylish and comfortable -
I like these boots a lot, mostly because they are comfortable and really look good. They fit over most jean leg bottoms and my large calf muscles. I had to try two different sizes and the most comfortable was the larger because my feet are so wide. I wear these for going out to walking to dogs; they are that cute and comfy.

Great Shoe -
I bought these because I'm a California girl that had no snow boots and had a trip to snowy Utah coming up. They were perfect. They kept my cold sensitive toes warm, and the snow out. Quite comfy, but if you are going to wear multiple pairs of socks, I would get a half size larger - it made it tight in the toes, but I found I didn't really need the extra socks.

I really love this boot -
I really like this boot. It is really stylish and it is very comfortable. It even throws you back on your heels instead of your toes. The size is about a half size smaller than marked and it is a little wider than a medium width. Just wish we had a little colder weather in Texas. They are warm.

They're very, very warm and cozy. Because they're earth shoes, sometimes the larger sole under the toes makes walking then long distances a little tiring on the legs. They're great because sticking your jeans down in them looks great and isn't uncomfortable like other boots I've had similar style to these. I sprayed them down so they're now water proof which is nice in the snow. The shoe strings are great too, they haven't frayed yet. *weird thing is my right foot keeps falling asleep--not sure if the shoe is uneven or it's my foot though! ;)

Love this boot!
I have always wanted to try Earth shoes for the negative heel but frankly, I've been put off by their looks. These boots are cute and stylish and I get many compliments when I wear them, especially from guys. I wasn't clear why some reviews spoke of the larger ankle area as a downside; where else are you supposed to cuff your pants? There's enough room in this boot so the cuffs don't dig into your skin. I have bunions and the negative heel takes all the pressure off them. ALL! Wow! I also have 15 1/2 inch calves and have a very hard time finding boots that fit them, and these fit great! I highly recommend these boots. I am marking them as feeling narrower than marked, but that's narrow in the sense that super thick socks are uncomfortable, not as in they are too narrow. I live in New Jersey and so far even without super thick socks, these boots are nice and toasty.

Great seasonal boots -
These boots are fantastic. They look great, feel great and are well made. They keep your feet and legs warm outside but never get too hot if you wear them throughout the day inside. I live in New York City and they are the perfect urban foot wear for winter.

Shorty loves these boots -
I got these boots as a Christmas gift but also got to pick them out. I chose Birch Old Stone color and love the way they look, a little bit more green than online. I was a bit concerned that they would be too tall, seeing as I'm only 5'3", but they don't overwhelm me. They come about two inches below my knee. The first day I wore them they were extremely uncomfortable: it felt like they were really narrow and my little toe on the right side felt like it was being squeezed. They are becoming increasingly more comfortable each day I wear them. I also have very large calves (18+ inches) and these boots accommodated them perfectly, even with a pair of jeans tucked inside. Shipping was amazing, I ordered them at 1:30 pm on a Wednesday, and they came less than 24 hours later. Thank you Zappos for an overall wonderful purchase!

A very stylish boot, also very comfortable, although I haven't worn it for more than a couple of hours at a time. It looks great with jeans or casual skirts and dresses. I don't find the calf or ankle to be a problem with being too large and I have small ankles and calves. Very pleased with the boot.

New boots -
Bought these boots as xmas gift for a teenager. She has large calves and very wide feet. The sizing was perfect. THEY ARE A TALL BOOT. Tiff is 5'5 and they come just below the knee. Got the dark brown boot and the only thing I wish was the fur looked a little different. She loves them and I know I would be happy with the lighter boot for me. All the kids ask her where she got them. They are warm and great in the snow and slush in N. AZ. Plenty of room to tuck even the biggest bells in.

I LOVE These Boots!
I used these boots for walking around this past holiday season in Sunriver, Oregon (at the base of Mt. Bachelor) and I stayed very warm and comfortable the whole time. If it is possible- these boots are actually cuter in-person! They felt true to fit, also. I would recommend these boots to anyone! The boots got very wet at times and I worried that water marks would stain the brown leather, but there was no problem at all! These boots are very well made and worth the money!

Really love them!
The overall comfort of this boot is hard to beat! Would have loved the furry inside to go throughout the whole interior (it doesn't) but that's the only fault I can find. It is really warm just the same, even as an après ski boot! Remember that if skiing, you wear thicker sock, so size accordingly!

Perfect for real winters -
What a great boot! It took about a week for the break-in period, but after that, it's incredibly comfortable. The sole actually has a decent tread (it's very icy here and I'm having zero problems). The boot itself is very warm and the lacing is incredibly efficient (just seconds to get in and out). Worth every penny I paid!

Perfect winter boots!
These boots are terrific. I've read what others have said about them being bulky, heavy, etc. Well, guess what! They're a fur-trimmed snow boot! They're not going to look or feel like a sleek pair of stiletto dress boots. They're warm, comfy and dry (I also treated mine with a good waterproofing spray), and they look awesome. The way they lace up means I can get away with stuffing a regular pair of jeans in them, or I can wear leggings and tighten them for a closer fit. I'd buy them all over again.

A Masterpiece in Snow Boot, Style and Comfort!
As my title suggests this boot is stunning. However not for my well rounded body. Alas, it is too much boot for me. Not the look I was going for. But, so very comfortable and the quality is amazing.
I am looking for the same boot but mid-calf instead of right below the knee.

Not all that I'd hoped -
I have Earth walking shoes, they are wonderful! Amazing shoes that I'd keep buying. I had high hopes for their boots as well, but sadly they fail to deliver. They are ungodly uncomfortable across the ball of the foot, far too narrow. They are too big in the heel and they seem to slowly loosen in the laces. They don't have any negative heel that I can feel, particularly in comparison to their walking shoes or even the mary janes. I am very disappointed in these boots, you would think for the cost you'd get something decent. In fact, considering how happy I am with their other shoes, I'm down right depressed.

As other reviewers have mentioned, these boots are not that great. Because they tie instead of zip, they didn't feel secure on my feet when I walked in them, kind of like they were slipping off or I was trudging them along, even when walking indoors. They are very heavy, and I was not able to tie them tightly enough for them to be comfortable or to fit properly (they are lace-up only). They are stiff, heavy, bulky, and too wide (for me) in the shaft. They also squeak on wood floors or other smooth surfaces. They seem like they'd be very warm, but I never wore them outdoors.

Excellent Purchase!
I am a boot queen, live in rainy Seattle, so I must keep my feet dry at all times. I lusted over this boot for several days before making the purchase. Please note, Zappos does offer the cheapest price on the net for this boot. Excellent quality, fit like a glove out the box. The shaft is big for us big calf girls and plenty of room for jeans, etc. I would recommend that you wear something like socks or leggings to add some girth to the shaft. Also, these are very warm, so you may want to dress lighter up top. Lastly, the traction on the soles is magnificent. I have not slipped or slid once in them. I will definitely buy more from this brand.
