This is my third pair of Columbia hiking boots. I wear them out. When I bought these I also bought a pair of North Face hiking boots, thinking it would be nice to have a pair to swap out with. They look so similar that at 5 AM, I'm not sure which pair I've put on, until I've been hiking about an hour and my feet start to hurt. Columbia pads and cushions them right, my feet stay put in the shoe and the shoes stay put on the terrain. I walk over rocks, big ones, and tree roots, limbs. I never feel the bad in bad terrain. I never come home with wet feet. I rinse them off under the hose, and then wear them around the house and yard doing chores. I do always order a size larger than for dress shoes.

This boot is the most comfortable I have used. The lacing is really great allowing adjustment in the top or the bottom part of the boot. Fit comfortably and never gave me any problem from the moment I started wearing, wear once in 3 days as I rotate my hiking boots. I hike just about every day, 5-12 miles. It is the heaviest of my boots, all name brands, but the most comfortable. Have never had it leak though, I ford creeks a lot. Would recommend this boot to all hikers.

Fantastic boot -
Absolutely the best all around boot I have worn. Excellent support all around, still almost feels like one has nothing on their feet. It is a little heavier than most boots of this type that I have tried, but that is all the extra support built into the boot. Took them out of the box and went shoe shoeing in comfort. The insulation maybe a little thin, but this is what makes them a year around boot. One can just add another pair of socks. The quality is fantastic and the laces work very easily; just pull them up, no tightening in stages required. Just slip the boot on and pull the laces as tight as you want. It is also possible to wear them leaving the top 2 hooks loose, this would allow one to loosen the top if needed. I did not need to do this, but it was nice to have the option. Also, as usual, extremely pleased with the fast delivery from Zappos. Order one AM and had them the next day and I live out in the boonies.

I called yesterday evening and got a very courteous customer service rep. She resolved my problem. I must say, very quickly. When I came home from work this evening, there at my doorstep was my correct pair of shoes from Zappos. I couldn't have been more shocked. I'm pleased to say that I love my new shoes.
