These sandals are the most comfortable that I have ever owned. Follow the directions and wear them only for 30-40 minutes the first couple of days, and after that you will not want to take them off. Wonderful massage-therapy for tired feet!

Sorry, I have to disagree with the other reviewers. These sandals didn\'t feel like they were stimulating the acupressure points on my feet at all. The bottom of the shoes did little to conform to the foot--they mostly consisted of just a flat surface of soft nubs. The nubs certainly didn\'t reach around to stimulate the medial and lateral aspects of the foot, where many important acupressure points lie.\r\n\r\nThere are other acupressure sandals out there that work better and are less expensive as well.

I bought these w/the sole purpose of a 4-day camping trip to wear around camp. Breaking them in is the tricky part, take your time with this and do it beforehand. Luckily I did, and at times it feels like the bottom of your feet are on fire (this takes about a day). But trust me, after that, they are a dream. They massage your feet while you walk, it\'s a wonderful feeling. The more you wear them, the better they feel. They look cool and I was paid a lot of compliments along the way.

If you are looking for a pair of massage sandals that aren't painful --these are the ones! The nubs are very soft so they provide a gentle massage & you can wear them around the house for ages. If you want a more hard-core experience, try the Birkenstock Birkis!

Best Sandal Ever-Comfort -
These are not the most attractive sandals around but OMG...comfy and really great for your feet. I used to wear the Adidas sandals with the nubs but no more. These are the best ever! Very durable and worth every cent!

These slippers are exactly what we were looking for; something to massage the feet after a long day and wear around the house. Loved it so much, my husband wanted a 2nd pair to wear outside the house! Shopping on Zappos is the best; and the effort youve put into using 360 degree photos make it easy to make a quick buying decision.

These sandals are an excellent way to get a foot massage. I used to buy cheap pairs of "acupressure" sandals that I liked for massaging my feet as I walked around the house and patio, but they are no longer available. The Old Friend Beachcomber is a much better made sandal and does an excellent job of massaging my feet as I walk. Beachcombers cost a lot more so hopefully they will last a lot longer than my cheapy pairs did. I would recommend that the front edge of the velcro strap be cut back just a little more so it's not so wide it rubs a little against the top of my toes. AND make the M size just a little wider to better accommodate us M+ sizes.

Wonderful Old Friend Beachcomber Shoe -
More comfortable than expected, we both love them. My husband previously had massage sandals and liked them but I didn't care for them. So I was very surprised to like them so much. They have helped my plantar fasciitis, and in fact provide the best support of anything else I have in my closet.

Useless when wet -
I've been wearing sandals of this type since the late 60's. The best, IMO, are the original Ganter Fusstrainers -- the old German ones with wooden base and slightly softer rubber nibs than these. The Old Friends look fine and feel OK until you get them wet -- then they become useless for a couple of days until they dry out. This makes them useless at the beach, around the pool, or in the shower... not to mention travel (no fun lugging around waterlogged sandals). Very disappointing!

Finally found my favorite shoe -
My sister-in-law brought me a pair of this type of sandal from Japan years ago. The strap was a hideous green bandana type of material and clashed with every clothing item I owned, but I wore them until the soles cracked. Been trying to find an equivalent ever since (Maseur was good for one pair) and finally have! Will be buying a second pair for backup, and would buy more if there were more colors! I couldn't be more pleased and impressed with the swift and efficient ordering and delivery from Zappos.

Comfy But Ugly -
For years I wore Maseur Massage Sandals until their quality went down the drain and the company quit producing them because they virtually disintegrated within several months of constant wear. In my search for a replacement I thankfully stumbled upon Old Friends Beachcomber. I wear a 7-1/2 shoe but based on previous reviews that said this shoe ran small, I ordered a size 8 (ladies) only to discover that it was a full size too big. I ordered a 2nd pair in a size 7 and it fits much better. This sandal is quite comfortable out of the box, provided you are already used to walking on a fully nibbed massage insole. However, if this is your first time wearing this type of shoe, I would suggest you get your feet accustomed to the nibs by walking in them for only 10-15 minutes out of each hour and gradually increasing the time over several days until you can wear them for extended periods. After botched foot surgery, this is the ONLY type of shoe I can wear that allows me to walk without the balls of my feet feeling like I'm walking on a rock. I wear them continuously during all my waking hours. And when they get dirty, I just toss them in the washing machine with my jeans and let them air dry. My only gripe is that they're design is just plain ugly and they don't have quite enough arch support. The upper strap is so wide that it looks like you're wearing bedroom slippers instead of casual sandals plus the front of the strap collides with the tops of my toe joints as my foot bends to take a step which can be really irritating. If the manufacturer made the strap half as wide by cutting back the front half, AND increased the height of the nibs in the arch to provide better support, I think these sandals would be perfect from both an esthetic and comfort perspective. Additionally, it would be nice to have more color choices but at the very least offering a tan or beige in addition to the current black and brown choices, would provide a more neutral color that I know women especially would find appealing.

These shoes stimulate the poor circulation in my feet and keep them feeling comfortable. The ongoing mild stimulation feels really good.

aching feet -
Although I had once had a similar pair with nubs, I found that these were so hard I actually had bruised feet after wearing them. I'm really disappointed.

Overstated -
I ordered this shoe based on the description given by the manufacturer. Big mistake. I am disappointed with this shoe. The knobs on the inside are uncomfortable...the strap gives me a blister on the top of my foot and the look of them leaves much to be desired.

"Spa Sandals"
So comfortable! I feel like I'm getting my feet massaged as I'm doing laundry! And they look good with jeans! They've become my new carpool shoes!

Old Friend's Beachcomber -
I love that this company shared my frustration with the "new" massage sandals and made one that wouldn't wear out in about a month! Comfort wise, the Old Friend strap is a bit too big-as I walk, my big toe digit runs into the strap, which is painful depending upon how long I wear these. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product & love having massage sandals that will last again! I live in these. I wear a 7-1/2 shoe & feared the 8 would be huge, but they are just right. Zappos service is extraordinary too - good job!

 | | Thank you very much... I just went to the door and there were my beautiful new blue slides. I can't believe I received them less than 24 hours after I ordered them. Service, service, service. Your people know what is the most important thing to do to bring customers back time after time after time. You can have an excellent product, but if the customer doesn't feel important, it makes no difference what one is selling. Too bad more people in the business world don't apply
