Cute shouldn't hurt!
Maybe a little dramatic, but these shoes are adorable. My foot just isn't right for it! They do run a full size small, I would say. The toe area cuts right across the inside area where big toe meets foot. I will send these back to find another ballet flat since customer service here is great!

Had to return -
Pretty and simple dress shoe. My problem with it is that I have wide toes, but narrow heels. The shoe could not stay on my foot even though it felt a 1/2 size short. I had ordered an 8.5 W, but the toes were still too tight. The heel width is so wide that I do not think those adhesive heel liners would have solved the problem. Ordering a size larger would have made the heel problem even worse. So if your footprint is wide heel to toe, it would probably be a great shoe.

Cute shoe, runs narrow -
I got the patent black shoes and like another reviewer said, they ARE squeaky. It seemed to go away after I wore them for about 9 hours straight. I have always worn a size 8 (medium width) shoe and in these I am wearing an 8.5 WIDE. I really don't have wide feet, so I am not sure what those ladies with truly wide feet are supposed to do! If you find a pair that fits, this shoe is really worth it. Versatile, comfortable, and practical. I wish the gel pad on the heel was all-over the footbed of the shoe!

Does not Fitzwell - I agree very pretty shoe, loved the look, but killed my feet. They are very squeaky on my toenails. Bought 2 sizes and they still weren't comfortable. The gel inner sole even hurt my foot.

Everyone else is on point with their review - This shoe does run small in terms of sizing. I got it for my daughter who is starting high school and has to wear a uniform and for this purpose they fit the bill. They are well made, and worth the money. She says they don't hurt but she hasn't tried to wear them all day so I can't speak to that.

Great shape, but so-so overall - The roundness is perfect but the shoe is not as comfortable as I expected, given the "Fitzwell" name. Not a comfort shoe. One objection is that the inside white lining on the black satin style shows around your foot. I hate that.

GREAT looking shoe-very classy and looks much more expensive than they are...they look great with jeans or pants, even a skirt. NOT that comfortable though. If you plan on wearing them around the office...fine. I wouldnt wear them for walking more than 30 mins.

Got these in red suede and they are very cute! Perfectly proportioned: they don't have a too wide/round clown toe like some flats. They run true to size. I almost purchased 1/2 size smaller because I know they will stretch a bit, but am glad I didn't. The inside lining IS very squeaky against toes, but I am hoping this will die down a bit in time.

Squeaky Callie!
I ordered these after reading the reviews: "soft leather" and "comfortable." First, I was very disappointed with the quality of the shoe for the price. The seams weren't even and it was obvious this shoe wouldn't hold up after lots of wear.
I agree that if the brand Fitzwell is supposed to mean that it fits well then they might consider changing their name! I ordered the shoe a half size up (thanks to other reviewers) and it fit. I wear a 9...and the 9 1/2 fit like a snug size 9.
I definitely wouldn't consider this "soft leather". The shoe is lined with a shiny material that made lots of squeaky noises against my foot (and toenails) when I walked around the house...again, I don't think this would have gotten better with wear.
It's too bad because this shoe really is cute. Thanks to Zappos for having such great service, especially when it comes to returns!

Too bad -
These are cute shoes, & they feel comfortable on, but after only ONE wearing the leather at the toe & heel started to shred! So disappointing! These shoes were too expensive to fall apart! :( Beware!

When I first got the shoes and wore them around, they felt somewhat small and rubbed on my feet and caused me some blistering a sores. After letting them heal and wearing with some thick socks, they got broken in and are now awesome to wear! I really liked the shoe and was willing to take the time to get them molded to my feet. Cute and very simple shoe. Would buy again.

Great look... Very uncomfortable -
Received as a gift. Have purchased a number of shoes from Zappos. The staff is great! Keeps me coming back to order more. Great look, bad fit. Should let people know that they should get a 1/2 size larger if possible. Work in NYC. Constantly walking for my hotel sales job. Great shoes if you only have to wear them around the office on carpet and drive to and from work. I walk at least 7 miles a day, up and down stairwells from home to subway, many long blocks to and from work. Not the best buy or comfort for city living. One bad apple will not sway me from continuing to frequent Zappos. The good outweighs the bad.
Regards, Katherine B

Comfortable pretty much from the get go. I wore these walking all over LA and Seattle over the first two weeks I got them. Pretty great shoe for the price. When you wear them the first time or two, they squeak quite a lot, but it does die down. Simple. Not fancy or frilly, but kind of Audrey Hepburn and wonderful cut with toe cleavage if you have a slim leg.

The shoe felt comfortable, but I found that the top of the shoe was cut too far back and didn't feel it offered enough support. The shoe was a little snug in the front and I would have tried a half size larger, but was concerned I would have even less support.

Zero stars for comfort!
If I could have given this product zero stars for comfort, I would have! I've been searching for the perfect red ballet flat, but this is not it. I so wanted to love this shoe - it's so cute and the red is a nice deep color. I ordered my regular size, 8.5W, and could barely cram my foot in
let alone walk. So I ordered a half size up. The larger size works better, but is by no means comfortable for walking around all day - at least not for me. I was hoping they'd stretch a bit after a few wears, but that hasn't happened. Also, I noticed after just the first wear that the leather started to come off at the toe and heel - not merely scuffed, but actually shredding off. Oh well, live and learn - I will never buy another pair of Fitzwells again! Zappos, of course, rocks!

Cute and no arch. I recommend ordering a size up, which I did, and it was almost a snug fit. My feet were slightly too wide though (and boy, that makes all the difference for the long-term usage) and there is no cushioning in this shoe. That said, very cute, but if it's not a perfect fit, brace yourself for some painful breaking.

A few days of torture for cute, comfortable flats -
I have quite wide feet, and refuse to stuff them into tight shoes. But, I do appreciate current styles, so I will try out any wide shoe I can find. These looked promising, and the reviews all agreed - a few days to break them in, and Voila! Callie will be comfortable.
It's true. The first three days - OUCH!! Band-Aids were a de rigueur part of my shoe wardrobe. I actually took the shoes off and walked barefoot in Sam's Club, I was in that much pain.
But now, about 10 wearings later, I am in the shoes with bare feet, on a hot day, and I am very happy.
Wear socks and Band-Aids for at least five wearings so as not to risk a blister. These shoes are worth the trouble, because they don't gap like other ballet slippers on wide feet.

I love this sleek flat!
Everyone is right -- order a half size larger than your normal shoe size. This shoe is extremely comfortable. I love the rubber sole -- so grippy! The look is great -- lots of sexy arch and a bit of toe cleavage.

Not as cute as I'd like, but super comfy -
These shoes felt great right out of the box, soft leather and nice enough support for ballet flats, but I'm not crazy about the look. From other user reviews I expected more toe cleavage and I have long toes too. But they are a pretty average looking shoe, best suited for tromping around the city or wearing to work. I'm definitely pleased with the way they feel and the quality is worth the money. I'm still looking for another pair of perfect ballet flats to fit a dressier and more appealing look, these are reserved for work!

Shoe review -
I found that this brand runs small and short. The length does not fit my feet at all! The front cut into my foot, I gave them to a relative without wearing them. I will never buy this brand again. Its the second time I had the same problem.

This is a really great looking shoe. Even though the picture makes it looks a bit like a "wedge" -it really isn't -it's pretty flat. I ordered it in an 11 (my usual shoe size) but, while I can wear it, it seems a little tight so I'm hoping it will stretch a bit.

Good little black flat -
It's the perfect little black flat. Nice shape, cool toe cleavage. The only negative is don't believe the hype about the cushioned gel heel. There is like an ounce of gel in there and it doesn't make much of a difference. Not great shoes for a lot of walking, but perfect for the office or a night out. I've been wearing them a lot.

Nice shoe for wearing to the office - cute, modest style. Minimal toe cleavage, if any (and I have long toes!). The inside is a nude leather, so no strange color peeking out or weird metallic rub off. The sole on it is quite thick for a flat and likely to be more durable than most. Definitely order at least a half size up! Only issue I have with it is the back of the shoe sits really low on the heel, so it feels like it may come off when walking (so far this hasn't been the case).

Cute shoe, comfortable but squeaky -
This shoe is very comfortable. I teach and was looking for shoes I could be on my feet in all day. They are also stylish. However, I noticed the first day I wore them without socks and they were very squeaky. I think the patent leather just needs some time to break in. I took another reviewer's advice and wore them around my apartment with thick socks for a few hours before taking them "out on the road" and I think that helped the breaking in process. Recommend this shoe!

Very cute but very vague sizing.
After reading the reviews on Callie and with my experience from other shoes I tried from Fitzwell, I made sure to get a WIDE size for my otherwise medium-sized foot. My Nike running shoes are a 9.5 and I am usually between a 9 and 9.5 in dress shoe sizes.
However, Callie did not fit well at all, in spite of all my preparations. It fit well so long as I was sitting down, but any motion left blisters behind. I have to admit that I did have to sprint through midtown Manhattan to catch a train before I had a chance to break them properly. I got them to wear with my wedding gown but I am afraid that I will have to keep looking.

 | | Awesome customer service. I didn't order the half size smaller and realized it before the shoes shipped. I was immediately helped and was so happy, then realized I went too small!!! I called back and again I was immediately helped and after a good laugh got the correct shoes shipped! I was very, very happy!!! I am sure Zappos people thought I had lost my mind but they were very supportive and had me laughing about my errors! Best customer support I have ever had!!! And I buy a lot online. | | ~ Sandra K, September 16 2008
