Good looking, warm, and comfortable...BUT...
I really do like these boots. They are very comfortable and good looking. They are advertised as waterproof (I haven't had cause to test that although I have endured several snow storms recently and they have stood up well to that).
HOWEVER, I have been a long time NF customer and have had several pairs of boot and shoes. These have the smallest tread with the least depth and the soles are made of a very hard rubber that is dangerously slippery on wet and icy surfaces...this is a big problem as these are among the top 3-4 conditions one buys boots:
1. Warmth
2. Waterproof
3. TRACTION
4. Support
Without that I feel ill equipped and unsafe. Although I am warm, dry and supported I feel like the tread will last, at best for one or two winters (less if I do some hiking trips) and as well I dread the possibility of going down hard due to the slippery lack of traction.

Rubber around bottom of shoe separates from the leather after just 4 to 5 wears. I like the boots, but for the price I figured the quality would be better. Two different pairs did the same thing.

 |  | You need a portal just for testimonials! I am an enthusiastic fan of Zappos! I live overseas but I have a home in USA. I shop the latest styles and fashions on Zappos.com in Denmark, ship them to my USA address and pay with my Danish bank card...no hassle. Your “competition” will not allow me to do that and they place the burden of identity verification on me. When I try to place an order from Denmark to ship to my house in USA they cancel my order. When I call in to determine why they do not use a more sophisticated method of credit card verification like “Verify by Visa” they tell me they cannot reinstate the order. I spend about 3K per month in shoes alone and I am more than happy buying them all from Zappos now. I shop Zappos exclusively now for the great customer service, ease of use, selection and confidence in knowing that the purchases I make will be honored in a way that provides service to the customer. I started with buying shoes, I am now looking at all the other wonderful things Zappos offers as a result of the service and value provided through this company!
