Street Names Are Available-Read The Instructions -
I felt that the review "Garmin is Better" showed how quick we are to make the wrong assumption. I have the GO720, it's my first GPS for my car and it is great! One of the options is to show street names and numbers, too. You have to work your way through the preferences to make this choice. Showing the street name is a matter of going into the preference menu, page 4 going to "name preferences" and checking the box that says "show street names". Love this unit, online and live phone support is available. I participate in the map corrections and have made several of my own. The system has added over 13,000 corrections to the map since I bought the unit. You can buy new maps from Garmin every few years and hope they got it right. TomTom is the largest GPS provider in the world; they've got to be doing something right. Don't be afraid of buying this unit because someone didn't read the instructions.

Garmin is better.
Well, first I purchased a Garmin c330 Street Pilot, and loved it. Then I decided to upgrade to the Tom Tom Go720 because of its Mapshare feature. Big mistake. The accuracy of the maps on the Garmin were "far" better (FAR better) than the Tom Tom. Plus, as you drove along with the Garmin, it would show you street names coming up ahead. A big help to someone delivering and looking for street "names". The Tom Tom however, often showed road numbers instead of road names (especially after you got out of town). Frankly, I hated it, and took it back and got me another Garmin (the nuvi 350). I wouldn’t have thought “so little” of the Tom Tom Go720, if I had not first been introduced to the far better quality (in accuracy) of the Garmin Street Pilot maps.
I would love to have the accuracy of Garmin maps (though far from perfect), and have the ability to edit street names etc. as you can with the Tom Tom Go720. That would be the best of both worlds. Plus, it would be far more feasible to edit inaccuracies on the Garmin maps than on the Tom Tom maps. Since there are “far” fewer inaccuracies on the Garmin maps.
Other brands recommended by reviewer: From my experience, which is minimal, Garmin is better.
