Shoelaces are difficult to relace/replace. Shoe has held up well; however, one of the shoelaces broke. Not sure how you replace the factory shoelace as Asymmetrical lacing has multiple loops that are "factory" tied off. I used a conventional replacement shoe lace that was larger in diameter than original shoelace. After repeated attempts (30 minutes) I finally relaced shoe; however, I was only able to use the upper eyeholes as the asymmetrical eyeholes will not work with a traditional shoe lace.

This was my first trial of Zappos. The shoes I bought were a brand unknown to me but I bought them based on their reviews plus the ability to return them if they weren\'t right for me. The reviews were on target and the fit of the Salomon shoes were the best I have ever had. The only drawback was the shoelaces. I like the closed loop design and the ease of lacing them up but they were too short, which forces me to use a shoehorn to get them on. But the rest of the features were so good that I decided it was a small penalty for what was otherwise a perfect shoe for me.

This is my first Salomon shoe- I \'live\' outside and these shows are ready for anything I can throw at them. I use them with orthopedic inserts and even when I didn\'t have my inserts they were super comfortable. The shoe is not loose or tight ANYWHERE. The tightening system is quick and easy, and their grip is good too. I contemplated getting the GTX with Gore-Tex and saved myself some money, but I might try them for my next pair. I recommended these to my friends- I recommend them to you too.

I bought the wides for my wide flat feet. The shoes seem to run a size smaller than typical but with zappos shipping buy as many sizes as yu want ans send back what you dont want. The se shoes have grear arch support. I love the lacing system (if it dosnt break). Seens to be a good shoe. Just sixe up.

These shoes look even better in person. Best looking and most comfortable shoes hands down. After my first pair, bought 2 more pair (I collect shoes and to make sure I had replacement pair just in case this style was discontinued). Swamp/moss is best color combo. Zappos is obviously the best in service.

These shoes rock! Very comfortable and well put together! I had bought a pair of the XA Pro 3D last year that are very similar to these, but the difference is that the tongue on the Ultras are part of the upper, not separate like on the XA Pro 3Ds. You can't go wrong with these shoes! They are great for light hiking as well as running, walking, trail running or anything else you can think of! Salomon's rock!

Great shoes! I have used them for 2 months and on a 10 mile hike with a 30 pound pack. Love the lacing system, they untie and tie so quick you can slip them off when on a break and pop them on and off you go. I saw online they fit tight so I ordered a 1/2 size larger and they fit great.

I bought these for my husband. He says this shoe is very light and feels true to size. The styling is eye catching, and the quick lace system is unique. You won't have to worry about the laces coming untied. Overall, he says the Salomon XA Pro 3D ultra is a fantastic shoe. Would I buy them again? I certainly would! He absolutely loves them.

Second pair of Salomons. Great for winter mud and snow but get too hot in summer. Sizing is slightly narrower than my first pair. Highly recommended.

These are great shoes. My second pair. Zappos had them available in the difficult to find wide width and they are perfect. Shipping was super fast too. Zappos rocks!

I've had these shoes about a month and I'm really liking them. They are very unusual. Firm support in the heel and arch like a hiking boot, roomy and light in the front. I actually feel a breeze in my toes. But I get a firm grip on the trail on day hikes.

I am overjoyed to find Salomon shoes in a wide size. I have worn their shoes for years but often had trouble finding them wide enough for my feet. I had on pair that I wore constantly for five years and finally wore a hole in the side of the shoe. This particular model the Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra is really comfortable. They seem a bit light for serious off road running but I have ordered a pair of carbon fiber insoles which should remedy the problem. I especially love the Kevelar lacing system and have found they are adjustable and never break. I am really hard on shoes and this is my 5TH pair of Salomon shoes and I have loved every pair.

I've only had them for about a month and these are as good as I had hoped so far. The lacing system stays tight and if you don't feel like lacing them, they make great slip-ons. I bought them for trail running but wear them more often since they are so comfortable. After reading reviews about them being a bit narrow, I opted for the E width, which fit my slightly wider feet perfectly. If you normally order an EE width, you should look elsewhere.

These are great shoes for my cross-country walks. I especially like the unique shoe string design which allows me to quickly tighten them.I had a similar pair prior to this pair and they lasted about 1 year, but I wore them morning and afternoon for my daily walks through the rough terrain where I live. Even though the unique shoe string design makes them easy to use on the shoes, the only drawback I see with the shoes are the shoe strings. Once they break, it is impossible to replace them in the functioning form they were originally intended. I had to find thin shoe strings and thread them through the loops and tie them. I couldn't see throwing the shoes away because of the problem with the shoe strings. These shoes will definitely outlast the shoe strings so be prepared to find thin, tough shoe strings to replace them when the original strings break.

Best shoes ever! I bought the bright yellow XA Pro 3d Ultras & they look great. Everybody but my wife loves them. Great cushioning, great stability, and feels like they run low to the ground. I like them so much I want to order a pair in another color!

Awesome, bought them because of Salomon's great history in snow skiing, and I love snow skiing. You can tell the shoe was made from a ski boot maker. The government should send them to our troops fighting overseas because they are so tough and durable!

These shoes are so light and durable that I had to purchase them again. The last pair lasted me a year and I use them on a daily basis. They're great for running, hiking, just about anything that you are wanting to do related to exercise. The support is also incredible. Especially flat-footed folks like myself.

I am a huge fan of the Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultras. I am on my second consecutive pair and love them. Most of my hiking is on rocky terrain so comfort and stability are essential. Bravo to Salomon for introducing the new bold yellow and black color. I get compliments on these shoes every time I hike. I have tried a number of brands and styles, but nothing compares to these.

These are great shoes and I will probably buy another pair. I wear them almost daily for running, walking, and work. After 9 months one of the loops for the speed lacing has almost worn through and the fabric in the back of the heal cup has worn through. The fit from the start was right on.

Purchased These to Replace my Merrell's -
I had a pair of Merrell's and became dissatisfied with them. Saw the reviews on these Salomon's and decided with my wide feet to give them a try. These are great shoes. I have flat feet and one thing I really try to get are shoes that offer a rolling motion from the time your heel strikes to the time your toe comes off the ground. These shoes seem to provide that kind of a runner's motion when walking. Even with wide feet, the shoes hug my foot ... on all sides and the heel cup is very positive. I love these shoes ... they are my friend.

1300 miles later they still feel great!
I wore these shoes for more than the second half of the Appalachian Trail and they still felt great at the top of Mt. Katahdin. The Montrail shoes I had for the first 900 miles felt terrible after 700 miles. I would buy these again in a heartbeat. I was also using a pair of green Superfeet that were 600 miles old when I bought the shoes.

 |  | I want you to know how pleased I am that my dad received his shoes so quickly! He got them today. I am amazed! He is a patient at the VA hospital in Denver. He is a WWll combat veteran who lost his leg after stepping on a land mine. Recently, he was taken to the VA hospital because no one at his present home could care for him. He was sick, malnourished, and to add insult to injury, could not use his prosthetic leg because it caused a sore on his amputated stump. To shorten a long story, he had no shoes with him with which to begin learning to use his new prosthesis. I ordered them Saturday as soon as I hung up talking with him and he received them today. Now he can begin the long journey to regain his stride and health. He will be returning to the east coast of Virginia to be with family.
