Why don't more companies make these?
I love this coat...since I am allergic to wool and down and happen to live in the Northeast, I have been looking all over for a coat this winter. This jacket is far prettier than pictured, very warm, and expertly designed. The details and materials (detachable faux fur collar, waterproof material, media pocket, and zippered pockets) are fantastic! I would warn you that this coat is not sized quite like the rest of the North Face line, however -- I wear a small in most North Face coats but a large in this one...I strongly suggest sizing up. All in all, a very worthwhile investment.

What she just said (the 1st review) ... I just got this coat today and it really is everything you could want in a warm weather coat... Cute as all get out! Not bulky! Figure flattering! And more! The pics do no justice for it!

Progressive Design Thinking For Winter Apparel -
If you are looking for a great pairing of function with fashion, this jacket is the answer. North Face has obviously invested in good design and fabric technology with this coat. Because of the attention to tailoring and overall fit, it can work as a casual jacket or as an alternative to a dress coat. It travels very well; it is used by this author as a business coat when flying to various stormy locations! The color is fresh and versatile - not the usual depressing black or brown of the season. It is comfortable, but if you like to layer with big sweaters, the tailoring might not work for you. It works well down to about twenty degrees - below that, best to head for the down parka. Don't know why North Face felt compelled to include the removable faux fur collar - the design really doesn't need it - but hey, if you like this type of accessory, go for it!

Can you marry a coat?
I freaking LOVE this jacket. I'd been looking for a warm, fashionable, cruelty-free (no wool, down, leather, fur) winter jacket for years, and this is it. The "fur" is faux, but pretty, the jacket is insulated with PrimaLoft instead of down, and it's warm and cute as all get out. It's pricey, but it's so well made and so well designed, it's worth it. It's also sort of dressy-casual or casually dressy, so you can dress it up or down a bit. I'm actually excited about more snow and cold weather now, which is saying a lot.
