Finally, boots that fit. I have been looking for flat boots that are fitted in the ankle and still fit my calves( 15 inches). I must have ordered and had to return 7 or 8 pairs of boots over the years, but these I am keeping. They are stylish, very comfortable and I can tuck my jeans into them, which I was never able to do before. I had to order them a full size smaller. They run big. If they the get my size in the black I will order them immediately. Zappos, as always, has perfect customer service.

These boots are great - very comfortable for walking long distances, and so cute - you can dress them up or down. Great quality, too. Love them.

Love! Very soft leather, very comfy right out of the box. They run a tiny bit big, but a heavier sock fixes that. The shaft is adjustable, which is great for over skinny jeans. I have athletic calves and these fit perfect; not baggy around the ankle, either.

Very dashing, very fun! the footbed could be a little more comfortable. I found the arch support to be lacking for a long walk in these, but otherwise, for shorter durations, they are really great boots. Well made and attractive. Thank you Zappos for very speedy shipping!

I bought these boots in brown and was thrilled that they fit over my large calves but the size 42 was not a size 10. I ordered the black boots in a size 41 and they were a perfect size 10. These boots are great for large calves and the soft leather makes for a very comfortable fit. I love these boots!

Finally, a pair of boots that fit over my calves. I've always had a problem getting boots that would fit over my somewhat heavy calves, especially with jeans tucked in. I was thrilled to find these boots on sale at Zappos. The first pair I ordered was too small, so sent for a size larger. Zappos service couldn't be better. So easy to return the boots and I received a credit with no problem. I will definitely shop Zappos again.

I bought these without getting my hopes up. My calves are on the athletic side with a 15" circumference at their widest, and I'm 5'2". That combination practically guarantees that I can't wear 99% of the cool looking boots in the market. Imagine my joy when I tried these on and they miraculously fit! They're just tall enough to end a couple of inches under my kneecaps. They zipped all the way up without struggling or adjusting. And they look great. AND I can tuck in slim jeans without issue. No breaking in - I put them on as soon as I could rip the box open and wore them all day at work. Bliss. The leather is on the thinner side, but that is a very minor quibble. They'll be perfect when I ride my bike or for just about any urban excursion I do. I wear a 7.5 and got the 38, which fit well though it is a little roomy.

I love these boots! At first I ordered an 8.5-9, but had to return them because they felt huge. I received the 8.0-8.5 the very NEXT DAY...I normally wear a nine, so these fit perfect. They are awesome and I highly recommend them.

Nice & comfortable boots but lacks arch support -
These boots are a perfect fit especially if you have wider calves. It does not look bulky. It is comfortable for an hour but after a while you will notice the lack of arch support. I would suggest getting a half size smaller as they run big.

Great casual boots -
I'm very happy with these boots. The leather is nice and soft. They look great with jeans or a casual skirt. Very comfortable. I agree with others that the calf was too wide, but can be adjusted by adding an extra hole in strap and tightening. I usually wear a 9, and ordered an 8.5/9 which fit perfectly.

I love these boots -
These boots are so fabulous. I have larger calves and the adjustable width on these leave plenty of room for comfort. Meanwhile, they miraculously *don't* make my calves look bulky! Fit seems true to me - maybe a wee bit roomy, but not by very much. They are super comfortable and just great in every respect.

Lea's are above average boots -
These boots are pretty comfortable, especially with a thick pair of socks. I have very thin calves, so had to put another hole in the buckle strap to cinch them a little tighter. For those with normal-to-larger than average calves, the width is very adjustable by loosening the buckles. As for looks - they would be OK with casual skirts, but they're really not dressy at all. Great with jeans. If they last a long time they'll be worth the money. As with all Riekers, order a size smaller!!!!

These boots really are darling. The shaft is big but if you want to tuck jeans into them then they are perfect. And they do have the casual, slouchy look to them. I'm going to need an extra hole punched in the leather tabs so I can tighten them up when I wear them with skirts. Oh yeah, mine ran a half size large for my foot, so I'm returning them and going down a half size. They really are cute, comfortable, and hopefully worth the price.

Beautiful boots -
These boots are much more beautiful the photos. The leather is soft and fine, and the brown color (which is what I ordered) is more consistent than in the photos. They are warm and have good soles for walking. There was no break-in time; however, I noticed that they seem to be made for a thicker sock - which makes sense for a winter boot. With a thicker sock than my normal thin shoe sock, they fit perfectly. I love these boots! Now I want to show them off and wear shorter skirts.

This boot is wonderful! Already had the brown and love them. The brown is more casual, with topstitching in a contrasting color. This black one is a bit dressier for it has no contrasting topstitching. The boot is very comfortable right out of the box, but I have added a full insole for a little more cushioning. I wore them all day shopping, and the only discomfort I felt was, after several hours, my little toes felt a bit scrunched. I'm wide across this area of my foot, but I think since the boots are leather, they will stretch a bit (and it took hours of walking before I was uncomfortable at all). The leather itself is thin and pliable, making them very comfortable. I love the zipper, they are so easy to get on and off! I have small calves, but the buckles allow me to cinch up the boot. I can easily wear my boot cut jeans by folding over the bottoms, lots of room in the boot to tuck in. I normally wear a size 8, sometimes a 7.5, but in these I ordered a size 38 (7-7.5) and they are just right!

I tried on about 15-20 different pairs of boots, including 4 Frye boots, to find one that I could wear with skirts this fall and these were the winner. The calf is big enough for my athletic calves, but not sloppy. It is a little trimmer in the ankle than some of the Fryes I tried and I liked that. The leather looks great and this boot is extremely comfortable. I'm looking for a black pair of Riekers since I like these so much. Great boot, reasonably priced.

All the reviews are right; order a size smaller than you would usually get. These are comfortable boots and stylish. The leather and design have more of a distressed/tumbled look than I expected. The calves of the boots were too wide for me though, even with the tabs cinched all the way. So, I am returning them.

I love these boots. They feel true to size and are as comfy as a tennis shoe. I'm on my feet all day working behind the counter at a coffeehouse. I've worn them almost every day since I've gotten them and most of my customers from all walks of life have stopped in mid sentence and said something to the effect of, "Whoa, rockin boots!"

I was looking for the perfect boots. I have had SO many boot shopping experiences that ended sadly with the zipper stopping mid calves. These fit so great! I put them on and wore them right away... and its summer! LOL! I don't care, I think they are adorable and so comfortable and snuggly. Well, I won't get too crazy, but I like them so much I think I'm gonna name them. If you have fuller calves, give these a try. You will be so glad you did. They do seem to run about a half size big. Thanks to those that posted this info so I knew what size to order!

Actual boots different from the site photo -
The actual shoe looks quite different from the photo on the site. The product photo appeared to be dual tones with darker brown areas. In reality the boot is overall the same shade of dark brown and the actual leather a bit shiny, not matte and sort of felty looking as the photo. I got the smallest size (5.5-6) and it had at least 3/4 inch space but was easily remedied with an insert and thicker socks. Overall these boots are super soft & comfy and the adjustable straps are great for adjusting to different looks when wearing!

Finally...cool boots that fit!
I have been yearning for a pair of boots that fit my chunky calves but don't look like they are a) made of plastic; b) made for "old ladies" (style, not age, ladies!) And finally, I found these Rieker’s! Soft as butter, comfy for walking, great buckles...now if only, only, only they came in black. That would be boot nirvana for me.

I was super happy when they arrived and actually fit my calves with ease. I'm a short girl with small feet, short legs with weird sized calves. Finding boots that actually are comfortable and half way stylish is a huge pain. I can't say how many times I have tried boots on in department stores, only to be disappointed that I can't zip them up. They do run a bit big. I typically wear a 5.5 and I have plenty of room in the size 36, which is fine, especially if you want added warmth from some thick knee socks. They look great with skirts and dresses, and I can tuck my jeans into them quite easily. The leather is very soft and the color is perfect dark brown. I sprayed them twice with a good water proofing spray for extra protection since the weather here is so unforgiving. I have worn these several times so far and they are super comfortable. One bit of advice: If you have fairly thin calves and want a snug fit, then these might not be for you, although you can adjust the fit with the buckles a wee bit the gusset makes them roomy regardless of how tight the buckles get.

These really do run large as people have said. I usually wear a 9 to 9 1/2, and I ordered the 40 (US Women’s 8.5-9). They fit fine, with plenty of room for wearing warm socks.
One of my calves is prone to swelling due to a medical issue, and the fact that these are adjustable is a huge plus. One pair of boots that fits both legs at once and are comfortable, too. They were just what I was looking for.
I gave them 4 stars for comfort instead of 5 only because they could stand to be a little squishier. But they have plenty of room to add inserts to adjust that.
