I just received this boot!! Love it!! The fit is amazing and they are so comfortable I will be able to dress them up and down!!, which is a plus!! And the shipping was fast and easy I just ordered it in brown!! Can’t wait for it to get here!! Thanks Zappos for finally providing a wide calf cute boot!!

Not Bad -
PROS: It fits around my big calves. I haven't bought a pair of boots in 15 years because I could never zip them. I can zip these. They feel a bit snug when you first zip them, but the stretch panel in back gives enough to make them comfortable around the calves.
CONS: That stretch panel is a different shade and texture than the rest of the boot and looks a bit odd. Enough that I couldn't give 5 stars for looks.
As far as comfort goes... I don't normally wear heels like these, but I wanted something that looked good. I will admit they were more comfortable than I thought they would be, but I wouldn't call these comfortable. People more used to thin high heels will probably like them better.

This boot is great - I normally have a lot of trouble finding tall boots because of my calves (which are not excessively large - but dancers understand shapely calves!) These fit great, stay up well, and are comfy to walk in to boot...pun intended.

A great boot for your money.
This boot fits well and looks great. It's one of those boots you can wear with either nicer or more casual clothes. You'll want to wear them everyday. My only complaint is that the boots come up a bit too high for me - right under my knees. I am 5'6.5" tall and don't wear petite cuts. Don't get me wrong - they don't bother me as they are, but I'd prefer them to be an inch shorter.

Love them!!!
I have spent years trying to find a pair of boots to fit my wide calves! Not only do they fit but they also fit over jeans with room to spare. I can't say enough positive things about them. I went up half a size because I am so used to having boots never fit, but I should have stayed with my true size. You won't be disappointed with these boots!

Very nice boots!
These boots are made out of very good leather, and are extremely comfortable. They fit well for people that have large calves. I can even tuck my jeans in. I am considering buying them in black! They are very classy as well.

Cool boots!
These boots are gorgeous. They fit well, the calf is snug but not painful and they stretch. They truly do not feel like 3 inch heels. Good quality.

I finally found a nice boot that fits -
I have searched high and low to find a decent looking knee high boot for a wide calf. The brown look just like they do on this site. This boot looks great on, but for the price there should have been a higher quality sole. They felt about a half size bigger but some store-bought inserts will make this my boot of the season!

Okay, Okay. . .I take it back.
I really jumped the gun with my first review of this boot. After a few days of looking at the huge gap between the top of this boot's shaft and my upper calf, I realized that I simply couldn't live with it. When I chose this boot, I wanted a classy effect, but I came away looking like a pirate or a little girl playing dress-up. So I've come to realize that I have in-between sized calves. . .too wide for most regular calf boots but not wide enough for wide calf boots. *sigh* I sadly returned them. But as always, Zappos is THE BEST!

I LOVE the Fitzwell Dora/Wide Calf Boots!!!
I have "cankles", large calves and have sent back at least 3 pairs of boots before I found these. I read the reviews before ordering them and I'm glad they exist because I found them VERY helpful. These shoes run big so I had to get them in a 6.5 instead of my normal 7.5 and they're still a tiny bit roomy. I am 5'2" and though the 17.5" shaft height scared me, it is a perfect fit. The 16.5" circumference fit over my 17" calves as they have a little stretch to them - they fit like a glove! They are 3" heels but feel like 2" heels and trust me - I CAN'T walk in heels and I've had these on since the UPS guy delivered them this morning! I may have to get them in brown :-) Thank you so much Zappos and Fitzwell!

Very uncomfortable -
The shoe was damaged to begin with, but aside from that the gel pads in the heals feel like rocks. They were painful to walk in just trying them on. Also the picture doesn't show it clearly, but the back panel of the boot is a fake plastic, which is much lighter than the rest of the leather boot. It made it very obvious that extra material was added to make it wider.

heel cushion nothing special -
These are stylish boots and fit a bit bigger than the size. I was looking for great cushioning on the insole and these were very disappointing. I was not impressed with the gel in the heel. Couldn't feel a difference. The good thing is that there is room for an added insole, but you shouldn't have to buy extra padding at this price. I sent them back, even though they were very good looking.

Buy this shoe -
I recently bought the black pair of Dora Boots and even though I wear a 12, it was a little bigger in the foot. However, the shaft of this boot was fabulous, it fit my large calf like a clove, plus it goes all the way up to my knee and I'm 5'11'. I am exchanging for an 11. The boot leather is gorgeous. You will love this boot.

FABULOUS - look no further!!!
Although 16" could still be considered an "average" (or BARELY wide) calf size, these boots fit PERFECTLY. The leather is SOFFFFT but still maintains the desired rigidity to stay all the way up where it belongs . . . at the base of the knee cap. There is a roomy enough gap at the top for me to fit 2 fingers (I have large hands, too), but with jeans tucked in, that's just about ideal. But I certainly wouldn't be afraid to wear them with leggings or a dress, either. The gap just isn't that unattractive. But if you have any narrower calves . . . these boots WILL NOT do. With wear, these boots will surely have just the tiniest bit of a slouch above the ankle, but it only makes them look hotter. And for all of you who shy away from heels, DON'T be afraid of these 3" babies!!! Although I used to wear heels almost daily as a teenager in the 80's, I scarcely ever wear them anymore, but these are so comfortable that I'd dare to wear them walking or dancing all day long. I'm assuming the tapered toe box is the reason for it being a bit long (EXTRA 1.5"), but it's so roomy that it didn't have to be. I'd order a half size smaller, but I'm not about to return these GEMS!!! . . . LOVE 'EM and Zappos!

I just have to write and tell you - I can't STOP talking about how great your site is!! I had one phenomenal experience...the first time I ordered shoes from you. And having just put another order in last night, I continue to be impressed by your professionalism, your personal touch, the way Zappos.com goes ABOVE and BEYOND the call of duty to service your customers. I mean...you actually PROVIDE service - a unique concept in a world where customer service has really come to have little meaning at all...to the point where few people even EXPECT to get service from most so-called "customer service" emails, phone lines, or service desks...Zappos has got it RIGHT!! I WILL continue to tell my friends and family, and assuming this great service continues, I can honestly say that I don't even WANT to look elsewhere for shoes and accessories. If Zappos.com has it, I'm buying it there...even when I have found an item on another site that I like, I don't want to mess with the crazy and disrespectful service I've normally experienced there.
