The older version was better designed -
I have two of the Icebreaker Chakra Zip tops from a year ago and they are my favorite tops for cool-weather running and backpacking. The wool is very fine and not itchy, and smells a lot better than synthetic fabrics after several days in the outdoors. However, I like my old Chakras better than this redesigned version--this new one has a higher neck which flaps against my chin if I run with it unzipped, which I do after warming up, whereas the old one was more like a mock-neck and laid flat even when unzipped. Also, they moved the embroidered logo from the bottom hem to the left chest and it unfortunately reminded me too much of the old logo on my CB ski jacket from the 80s. For those two reasons I had to return this top and give it only 4 stars for comfort and look, although Icebreaker still makes better wool tops than most other companies. I hope that next season Icebreaker returns to the former design.
