A bit wide in the heel - This is a good shoe and it seems to work well for me, plenty of room, it does seem overly wide in the heel, however, which causes my foot to slip around sometimes.

It's The Right Shoe for Me!!!
I ordered this pair among 3 others, because some that I liked better in my size and width were unavailable. When I saw the picture, the orange color seemed too prominent, and I didn't care for that. However, when I got the actual shoe, I really liked the colors. The orange is a lot more subtle and the blues are nice. Most importantly, though, was the fit. This was my first pair of New Balance shoes. I had to send back my usual 8.5 and get a 9. I should have heeded the comments I read, instead of the "felt true to size" rating from a large percentage of customers. (After the fact, my sister said she always goes a half size larger for New Balance.) The narrow worked very well. I've been walking about 3 miles a day of since I've gotten them. They support my feet and are as comfortable as can be. I recommend them highly. Zappos service was incredible! I had my exchanged pair the next day, 2 1/2 hours after I dropped my returns into the mail!!! Thanks for another pleasant buying experience.

This is a very comfortable shoe and I appreciate that it is available in an extra wide fit. I have owned this shoe for 3 weeks and have worn them nearly every day. I am very happy and will likely purchase another pair.

I have had really good luck with this shoe. It's my second pair and will cringe when they change it up. I have flat feet and pronate so need the extra stability this shoe offers. It's light weight too, which is an added bonus. I put my orthotics in with no problem. A side note: Zappos shipped these to me in less than 24hrs, no extra charge. Amazing!

My Problem Feet Are Happy -
I have extremely flat feet and severe overpronation. These shoes are the most comfortable I have worn in a long time. I wear orthotics in them with no problem. Now - if I could only find an attractive dress shoe as comfortable!

Wore these all day yesterday. They felt great outta the box. My feet sweated from the get go. I'm sure this can be corrected w/ a thin insole (I don't wear socks). The shoes insoles are great, wouldn't want 2 replace them. Wide toe box, great 4 my Barney Rubble size 10 EE. I had ordered a pair in sz 10 EE. They were 2 short. I ordered a whole sz larger. I'm glad I did. A 1/2 sz larger my toes would have been hitting the end of the shoes. I like the fit. 1. CON: shoe 4 me is 2 high on the outside ankle. Doesn't bother me when I am ambling around. When I'm driving or sitting and I turn my ankle out, shoe hits the ankle. Summary: Felt great outta the box. High outside ankle. My feet really sweated in these. I'd suggest 1/2-2 a whole sz larger. Roomy toe box.

Great running shoe -
Runners' World online recommended these shoes. So far, I am very happy w/ them. They are very padded & comfortable. They have excellent support & I haven't gotten any blisters. They fit well; they aren't too big & my feet don't move around in them while I'm running. I would recommend this shoe & this brand to anyone running or walking.

New Balance WR858!
Was disappointed that this shoe was not as light weight as the 857 and not quite as comfortable either. Felt it took some breaking in. Don't love it but definitely a solid shoe.

Exactly what the Dr. ordered -
Well actually the physical therapist, I am having PT for my right knee and needed a better shoe for running and exercising. This shoe has great stability and support which my hyper mobile joints need. Having a wide foot usually makes all shoes uncomfortable but this is now my favorite footwear.

Just got these...
I have the hardest time finding shoes! My left is a size 10 and my right is a size 11. NO ONE sells 11.5s (or 10.5s if I wanted to go down a size)! Found these beauties with New Balance - I love NB now! I was lucky in that I also need shoes that are more on the narrow side with lots of cushioning and arch support (I have flat feet, too). These are great if your feet tend to the narrow side. The cushioning is not the best, but it's good for the smaller woman. Trying not to be biased against the cushioning, but I am rather large for a runner 5'8", 170 so the cushioning is probably fine for the leaner crowd. I will most likely switch out the insoles.

New Balance 858 -
I recently was diagnosed with tarsal tunnel syndrome in addition, to plantar fasciitis which I have had for about 4 years. I was encouraged to purchase new balance 858 due to the support this shoe provides along with my orthotics. I did have to go up a size and increase the with of what I usually wear to accommodate my orthotics. I work in a clinic setting in which I am on my feet most of the day, and have found this shoe provides excellent support.

Well made. Very nice looking. You can't tell I have extra wide feet! : ) I little wider in the heel than I expected but thick socks took care of it. I have very narrow heels.

Not what I expected -
I started getting some pain on the outside shins with my old shoes; thinking they were worn out. I tried these and they diddn't seem to help, with or without inserts. Otherwise very comfortable.

Tender Tootsies -
As I have aged my feet are more tender. I am wearing Moraine by Wigwam socks for the extra padding, so I ordered a half size larger than my dress shoes. This is a supportive and stable shoe. Terrific for my high arch and tendency to pronate.

This shoe is great because it's made by New Balance. It is comfortable for anyone who wants a good running shoe with lots of support. I only wish it was not orange and blue. They could have made it a lot more attractive.

Great shoe for overpronators -
I am usually a 6.5, but in the New Balance I always order a 7. Great cushioning, perfect for the gym. An especially good shoe if you overpronate because it corrects for that and helps protects your knees.

Helped my Achilles tear -

I have very narrow feet and have a hard time finding shoes that accommodate this problem and these shoes fit the foot perfectly, narrow heel (I ordered a 2A width) and comfortable toe box.

My Favorite Running Shoe -
I’ve been buying this series of NB for over 5 years now and wouldn’t dream of buying any other shoe. I pack miles and miles on these things and they have been the most forgiving to my knees and back. The most support while still being a road shoe, and LOVE the new color.

Good shoe.
The color's not ideal, but it's not bad. I like blue, and the silver is very muted. There's very little orange, thankfully, just enough to brighten up the shoes a bit. The shoes are very comfortable. I bought them for everyday use. I don't run, but wanted a running shoe for the cushioning. Being New Balance running shoes, I had to buy a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear.

Would not buy again.
I have had a tough time getting used to this shoe. It is narrow in the heel and my orthotic must be adjusted every time I put them on. They are the most supportive for a pronation than any shoes I have ever had.

I owned the 857 before these and knew they would be comfortable. I have a narrow heel and these hug them perfectly. There is no slipping. The colors may be a bit ugly but comfort is my #1 priority and these fit the bill. If you are an overpronator, try these out, you will be very happy.
