Waaay too small, ordered the exact same size of two NB shoes, one was a 790, and the other was this one. The 790 fits all right, a bit tighter than desired, but still feels about a full size larger than this model.

Feel like a panther -
These guys make you feel like a wild animal. They mold right to your feet, and have a great look. Very snug fit, so consider getting a half size larger.

Perfect urban/comfort -
Heel and arch support aplenty! NB discontinued making my fave shoe and ZAPPOS had it in stock. I get a lot of wonderful compliments on the unique look of this shoe too.

Falling Apart -
It's too bad these shoes are falling apart because they are so comfortable. I'm not a trail runner and never took these shoes into the woods -- good thing I didn't. After wearing them around town three days a week for a month the EVA is separating from the shoe. The glue doesn't hold. I hate to call these shoes "cheap" but they are.

Great shoe super comfy -
This shoe is awesome. I love it, very comfortable, light weight, more grip on the trail than anything else out on the market. The only draw back is that two shoes and not four come in a box. I need a pair for around town!

NB 800 shoe review -
I do not recommend these shoes for trail running, they dont drain well, material stays wet forever; I lost my first toe nail in these shoes. The cleat like tread grips great but the shoe's upper construction does not hold foot in place, and there is zero cushioning (which is ok except on fire roads). I admit that once I got used to them I was able to run through fast technical forested sections with confidence because of the low profile and extra grippy sole. Basically the sole of the shoe is great the uppers are a joke.

I got a lemon -
I picked up a pair of these for running trails in good weather (I wear Gore-Tex Salomon's most of the time, as the weather here is very wet), but before I ever had a chance to run in them, the right shoe started to fall apart, just from light wear around town (hey, they look great and are comfortable--I figured I might as well break them in at the office so they would be ready to run in the spring). I have now lost over half of the treads on the right shoe--yes, the treads actually just fell off. The left shoe is fine, but the right one is trash now, and I've only run in them once. That run, however, was great--I chose this shoe over my Gore-Tex Salomon's for that run because the ground was covered in hard-packed dry snow, and I thought that I'd have better traction with the MT800's, and they were great (although they were a little cold for winter running due to all the ventilation), even where the snow was turning into ice.

Please order 1/2 size larger than normal!!!!
These shoes are very comfortable and the style is way cool, but you must order 1/2 size larger. I have many different styles and brands of running shoes and they all are size 101/2. I read all of the previous reviews that other people wrote before I order these shoes, but I did not take their advice about ordering one size larger than normal. Well, I ordered size 101/2 knowing they would fit. I tried them on and wore them around the house and soon realized they were a little too tight. So, I jumped online around 8:00 p.m. and ordered a size 11 and I received them the next day before 3:00 p.m. Zappos continue to impress me with their super quick hassle free shipping and customer service.
Anyway, after many years of buying numerous products online this is the first review I have written about a product because the shoes are great, BUT YOU MUST BUY A SIZE LARGER.

I love these shoes!
I run over 35 miles a week on trails, hills and backroads...I put these shoes on the day that I got them and ran over 11 miles on paved roads, dirt roads, single track trail and foraged my way through about a mile of horrible, over-grown forest. These shoes worked great for me and no blisters! I recommend them if you are an avid runner. I did get a half a size larger than my normal size.

Very Comfortable -
This is a great shoe. Definitely runs almost a full size smaller than shown. I am normally a 9 to 9.5 US, so I followed the posted advice from reviewers and I'm so glad I did. I got a 10 US and it fits me as a 9 normally would. These shoes are very breathable and remind me of sprinter's spikes/flats -- they fit like a glove.

Great shoe but interesting colors...
This is a very sturdy shoe that is one of the most comfortable I've warn. The shoe was a full size smaller for me. I had to get 14's instead of 13's. My only issue is the color selection. The gold is not bad but I already have that color shoe so I went with the navy/green. Looks good except the green is this off green brighter color so it looks like a womens shoe sometimes... But I still cruise around in it. Good purchase.

Phil -
Great shoe. Just finished a 50 mile trail race and they were solid on the trail. Absolutely no blisters or hot spots. I'm a forefoot to midfoot striker and they work great for that. I normally train in a lighter pair of New Balance (790's) but these are my new favorites.

Buy A Larger Size On These! MT800's Are Built Too Small -
I have a wide feet. My true shoe size is 8.5 EEE, but because no one ever stocks EEE sizes I always buy size 9D's. With New Balance's MT800s, definitely buy a full size higher than what you usually buy if your feet are big wide SCUBA flippers like mine. I ended up buying 10D's and they fit great! I started out with 9D's + had to return them. Went up to 9.5D's, but had to return those too. Finally with 10D's all was right as rain. Zappos made this process super-easy to do as well. Their delivery + customer service is incredible and superior!!!

Comfortable supportive running shoe.
I've been running in these shoes for a couple weeks now. They have been very comfortable and supportive and I really like the look. They have also provided great traction on uneven ground. I'm glad I took the advice of others here and went up half a size, they fit like a glove. Possibly the best running shoes I've owned.

GREAT SHOE!!! I have high arches and was skeptical about the arch support this shoe would offer after reading some of the reviews posted here. My skeptism fled when I tried on this shoe!
Great fit (I ordered 1 size up) and great traction (especially in the wet & slippery terrain of the Olympic Peninsula). The shoe has excellent cushion and support.
I ordered the Black/Gold color, and though it is a bit more flashy than what I would usually prefer, the styling and craftsmanship is a lot better at what I'd been finding "in stores." I'm planning on ordering this shoe in the green color.

Love this shoe!
This is a great shoe - especially for a mid to fore-foot striker. It accommodates my orthodics very well and still fits nicely in the heel. It runs a little small - I had to size up a whole size.

Runs a full size smaller than listed -
I am currently enjoying losing my left big toenail thanks to these being too small. A longtime New Balance customer who always uses 11 1/2 D; I ordered these in 12 D based upon the Zappos reviews. I wore them for 4 hours in the house: felt fine. Did two 3 mile trail workouts and felt fine. In the race Saturday on the long down hill, these shoes tore my toes up.

It's narrow on the ankles, but overall fit very well as long you get a half size larger. The grip on ice is pretty decent, little to no slip. If walking on concrete, it's pretty noisy, but not a big problem for me.

GREAT GREAT SHOE!!!!!
I am so glad to see the recent trend trail shoes. INOV-8 began the trend with low profile trail shoes for maximum responsiveness and fell type lugs. Well NB has won me back. If you want a heavy shoe to protect your feet from feeling anything then this is not your shoe. But if you don't want to twist an ankle or have to slow down on a muddy or stoney downhill, then this baby is for you. To me, most of the trail shoes these days are a road shoe with a tougher upper but these will make you a human ATV. This one is a keeper. I'm just writing this review so I can find these baby's 5 years from now.

Way too tight -
Well I wasted my money on these sneakers because they are too tight thought they were a little tight but I figured they would stretch a little. I was wrong of course I can't send them back because I did wear them so if you are going to buy these get them a full size larger.

Great for wooden/muddy trails -
The MT800 is a relative fast shoe for a trail shoe, works great on muddy trails in the woods. Drawbacks include no extra padding/protection in the mid-foot section which is a disadvantage in rockier sections. Rather flexible for a trail shoe. Fun to run in though.

Finally, a decent lightweight trail shoe...
For years I have been running trails mostly in lightweight trainers or racing flats. These are fine except when the trail is wet and/or leaf covered. The MT800 is the best shoe I have found so far that has the feel of a lightweight trainer with enough of an outsole to keep me from slipping too much on the wet days. Also, I have very narrow feet and the fit is great. Great shoe!

Nice shoe, but not trail stiff -
This shoe is great for light trail runners. It does not show grime/dirt, it wicks moisture away, and sheds gunk off the sole wells. A good shoe for light trail running....but not too stiff in the midsole and it does torque. On rough and rocky terrain, not as well suited as a Montrail Hurricane, which is very stiff and offers a smoother ride over rough terrain. But hey, the NB is about half the price!

 | | Once again I've been on a shoe quest and am so grateful for your free shipping policy. I've had numerous surgeries in the last 5 years, buying shoes has always been a nightmare made worse by this. Since I found Zappos.com I'm always able to find what I need, whether for work, dress casual, sandals, comfort, you name it. I could not do this if it weren't for you. Before you came along I bought possibly one pair of shoes per year, and never online or through a catalog because of the shipping charges. I'll have returned 4 pair by the time I'm done with this current search, but I'll have purchased 4 pair also. I think that makes 9 pair this year? Holy cow. | | ~ Joy B., September 05 2008
