I love this boot! These are the boots that I have been dreaming about! I have very wide calves (19.5") and I thought I was forever going to be stuck wearing cheap looking, pleather, "plus size" boots with no style, then I found these. Because the leather is so soft, you can wear them up, or fold them down to wear under the knee(they are quite tall!) or slouchy , and they don't hurt my bunions because the leather just stretches easily around them. Amazing!

GREAT BOOT -
This boot is great for those with wide calves...truly wide calves. They are actually baggy on my calf (I might have them tailored), but I still kept them. They are so soft and versatile (folding them down/over or wearing up to the knee. I have gotten so many compliments and questions about where to find them.

Wide calf...for sure!!!
I’ve always had a hard time finding boots wide enough to fit my muscular calves. I’ve always loved the look of flat riding boots. This seemed like the perfect solution. When I received the boots I was pleasantly surprised to see that the leather was so much nicer than I expected them to be. But these boots were WIDE...even for my legs. I would definitely recommend trying them to see if they will solve your problems. Zappos has a great and easy return policy if you find that they are too wide like in my situation. They really are nice boots. But unfortunately I had to return them because they were too wide for me.

The quality was awesome, but an 18 inch shaft does not go to the knee. It covers half of the knee. I didn’t realize that the boots did not have a zipper which means the top of the boot has to fit over the thick calf leaving gapping room at the top. They were very comfortable, but I returned them due to the fact that the ankles were HUGE and made the books look like work boots instead of fashion boots.

Worked for me and my crazy calves!
Like so many other women, I have a very hard time finding tall boots that fit my very large calves! I really was not sure if these would even work, or how they would look given the bump in the back. But, these actually look really nice when you put them on, and the leather is soft so it doesn't look like a bump, it just looks like it's taken the shape of my leg, so it looks fine! And about the bump, because the boot is curved there, and a tiny bit fitted at the top, these boot DONT slouch!! They really stay up! They are also REALLY nice and tall! So they don't hit at the widest part of your calf. Overall, a great boot that you can wear all day and feet won’t hurt, and look really cute! :)

Petites beware...
What was I thinking, I am only 5'4, they got past this large calf, except, they were about 4 inches too tall. I was so exited to get them, but man they didn't fit. my calf measures about 18.5 this boot was just right for my calves but not my short legs...they were nice boots, looking back I think they need a little more detail, but very nice boots...c'mon Zappos, I know you have my boots out there...ladies don’t be discouraged, Zappos makes it easy to send back if they don’t end up fitting...I took a chance.

I have always wanted some tall boots, similar to riding boots, but without going to expensive custom-made boots, I'll never get into any. These Catie boots fit and go way up to mid knee. I like wearing them with jeans tucked in and have got some nice compliments and also I've gone horseback riding with a friend in them and felt like I was well dressed for the day. We crossed a deep stream and I kept my boots in the stirrups and let the water go way up the legs. The boots kept me dry and warm. These are the first boots I have ever felt sexy wearing.

Great boot for extra large calves!
I never thought I'd be able to find a boot that would fit, but this one goes over my 22" calves beautifully. It's a very tall boot, but the leather is soft and it's very easy to cuff the top. I could probably wear a pair of socks with these, but nothing too thick. The ankles do bag a little, but still look good. And they're super comfortable to walk in - and believe I walk everywhere.

Quality materials but poor fit -
I wear a size 12 shoe and about a size 20 in clothes, which may give you an indication of my calf size. These boots gave plenty of room in the calf, but the fit was sloppy. Like many of the other reviews, the ankles were very wide. These boots did absolutely nothing for the shape of my calves. It's too bad because the leather was beautiful.

These boots are awesome -
I bought these in tan, and get numerous compliments each time I wear them. Somehow the boot is cut so it's really flattering on the calf, which sometimes isn't the case on wide-calf boots. I think it helps that the boot extends over the knee. There's plenty of room in the calf area, and since the sole is flat they're great to wear when you have to walk somewhere.
One more cool thing, which is more about Zappos---I ordered these on a Monday afternoon, and they got here Tuesday. When the delivery guy came, I was in the process of ordering another pair of boots!

I really thought I had found the right boots because of the reviews about the wide calf, I thought I had huge calf. I guess not huge enough for this boots. I will keep looking. The bump in the back is really bad. I am not giving up on Zappos.

REALLY BIG CALVES - FOR REAL!
I read the other reviews and decided to order them despite reading a few reviews that said the calves were unnaturally large... well end of the story is that the calves are CRAZY big. Don't order these unless you have NEVER been able to wear a pair of normal boots of any brand. I'm happy this is an option for larger calved girls, but if you just have big calves sometimes, these are not the boots for you.

I was SO psyched about these. Color is fab (golden caramel) and shoe is tall (up to my knees). Alas...they fit ALL wrong. Too snug around the tops of my feet, heels slip. And even my VERY pudgy calves couldn't fill these babies. The resulting look was very sloppy and they just weren't comfy. I think if you have large legs plus very muscular bulging calves these will work for you and be HOT.

Wow, be careful purchasing this boot!
I am so sorry that I am needing to send these back. I love the color and I like the fit of the foot part of the boot, but everything goes down hill from there. I really do have big calves, but these are huge and yes, I did read all the reviews, but a couple reviews mentioned getting them taken in so I did go to two shoe repair shops but neither could take in the bagginess of the column. I really tried because I love the height but as a friend said "I looked like General Patton." so that did it and back they come. I will order another because I love your service.

These are for giants! I have ordered and returned 3 pairs of wide calve boots in the past week because I can't find any boots that fit over my 17" calves. I ordered them and am shocked at how HUGE they are. They are definitely for someone with at least 22' calves and they have this unsightly bulge in the back. Strangely the foot is fine. They are gorgeous looking from the front though. I may just bring them to a shoe maker to have them taken in.

Way too big!
I was so excited to find a pair of cute, hip brown boots in a wide calf because my 18 inch calves definitely make it difficult to find boots that fit. As soon as I opened the box, my heart sank. Theses boots were huge, and I mean colossal! They seem to be meant for 22 inch plus calves; this is no exaggeration. Back they went to Zappos, and my search for the perfect brown leather boots continues.

These boots are amazing!
Unlike what everyone else is saying, I don't recommend getting them in a size smaller than you normally wear. I usually wear a 9 average but I have huge soccer player calves (18 inches around!)I ordered them in a size 8 and a half because everyone said they were loose, but they're a bit too small. So, get them in your own size and they look perfect if you have normal feet but athletically large calves.

Was so excited to get the boots- the only boot I have ever been able to pull up to my knee. The only thing was the ankles were sooooooooooooo big- they kind of looked like fireman boots. So my quest continues for a pair of boots please help:)

When I saw these shoes online I fell in love with them. But I had to return them 3 times to get the right size and the one I have now isn’t perfect for my foot. I have man-ly calves.. They are big & muscular. Never thought I would ever find a pair of boots. That would reach my knees... I am usually a size 11 but the 11 fit soo big around the ankle it looked disgusting. And the 9.5 didn’t fit ..the 10 fits but I feel like my feet are gonna explode but they should stretch...

Good boots -
I bought these boot for practical, stylish, comfort. I succeeded! I am 5'8" with a size 10 foot and my calf has an 18 inch circumference so nothing ever fits. These fit!! they were too loose in the ankle and the calf bulge but I took them to my shoe guy and he took them in for me by a 1/4 inch. They are totally worth it. I am sure that I can use them for years to come. (keep in mind that the 17" circumference is proportionate to a size 7 shoe.)

Wide calf boots for wide calves like mine -
Well, ladies, I didn't know what to expect based on the other reviews of this boot. For the first time in my 44 years, I have found boots that go over my calves AND knees with skinny jeans AND medium weight, straight-leg jeans. The back of the boot doesn't gap on me (I'm 5' 7", size 14, solid legs); it's proportional to the shape of my leg. Even if I cuff the top so that the boots are knee-high, they look really good. I highly recommend these boots if you've had similar boot disappointments in the past. They are plain but they fit, and because they fit, they flatter. The leather is decent and the price is fair. These might be the ticket for you, too. Zappos, please get more of these in stock, all colors!

Beyond a wide calf...
Okay...WAS super excited about these. The actual boot is cute but they are extremely large not only at the calf but at the ankle. I was thinking about taking them to get cut but I am not willing to commit that kind of money to this boot. The leather quality was pretty good and the actual shoe part was extremely comfortable for my wide foot. Without disrespecting anyone, I would suggest that might be okay if you have not only a wide calf but "elephant" legs. Good Luck

Only for BIG, BIG calves!!!
I had read all the other reviews saying that the calf was too large, but thought, "Great! These should be perfect for me, since I have huge calf muscles!" They came today and they are HUGE. I could fit three pairs of pants and my calves into them.
I measured my calf before I bought these, just to make sure: I am 6'0", wear a size 12, and have an 18.5" calf circumference. These boots were too large, even for me! If the back of the boot were flat, instead of rounded out for the calf, I might have kept these anyway, but the "bump" just looked ridiculous with my pants tucked in.
Added to that, the boot itself is very, very plain. The rounded toe in front is NOT in style, even if the no- to low-heel is.

Great boot - very comfortable and quality construction. Like other reviewers have noted, it is a bit larger than I had anticipated. However, the fact it is so fashionable and actually fits my wide calf is much appreciated... hopefully other brands will follow suit in making such products!

Multipurpose boot -
This boot are awesome, you can wear it in several ways. The boot was way too tall so I folded the top to give it that pirate boot look or you can even slouch it, no matter which style they still looked very good. I have a wide calf and I have looked for comfortable, flat, cute bots and these fit the bill. Highly recommend.

I've had numerous surgeries in the last 5 years, buying shoes has always been a nightmare made worse by this. Since I found Zappos.com I'm always able to find what I need, whether for work, dress casual, sandals, comfort, you name it. I could not do this if it weren't for you.
